...brought this item from ebay with full warranty for £200 as opposed to £299 from uk high street stores last year and have been very happy with its great sound quality and bass sound, and its great easy usability compared to rivals, although i have had some problems along the way, including, terrible battery life (4 hours continuous play) and the fact that the ipod would generally just freeze and not reset its self until it was synced with the computer, which was an absolute nuisance as i listen to it throughout the day!!! so i took it to the apple shop in oxford street and they 'fixed' it. but again it kept losing battery life and freezing. i took it back a further 3 times before they finally agreed to give me a new one. i thought maybe it was an isolated case but its happened to a few people i know too. so beware when buying one in...

iPod Classic - Still One of the Best

Advantages: It's an iPod, Great Value for Money, lots of features.
Disadvantages: The headphones supplied aren't great, Screen Too Small for Movies

...I think that this is a major improvement to the older gen ipod. The navigation and menus is much easier and music more attractive, the cover flow is a great feature where you can easily flick through your album collection just like your would in real life. Games are great for when you get bored, and the games on this iPod are a HUGE improvement to the older games. Now the iPod has proper games with thier own menu's and soundtracks. It lets you store your highscores so you can try and beat them. Personally I would not use this iPod to watch movies on although the video function is great. The screen is just too small to watch a whole length movie on it. I have not tried it yet, but I'm sure it would be great when you connect it to your TV to watch the movie. The 80gb ipod classic is by far the best portable music player i've ever had! not only does it look great, you can store up to about 9000 songs on this beast! despite the fact it looks rather big and hefty, its actually quite light and you tend not to notice it in your pocket untill you dip in to find some loose change. the sound quality on it is amazing. you can get all sorts of equalizers for more bass, more treble, etc... to find the perfect sound for the song you are listening to. the only thing i would say is bad about the ipod classic is the touch pad, sometimes this can get stuck or it wont sense your fingers, so it can get abit annoying trying to scan your whole archive of music when youre struggling to get from the a's to z's! ...I bought my Ipod Classic around a month ago to basically be able to carry all my albums round with me at all times and have a couple of my favourite movies to hand if I am ever bored. I used to have an Ipod Nano and thought that 2 GB of memory would be plenty for what I needed but soon found that I couldn't fit no way near half of my albums on there and had to cherry pick my favourite songs due to there being not enough space available. Now having 80GB it's surprising how much you can actually fit on it. I currently have around 15 movies, a season of lost and over a 100 albums and am still well under 30GB. It's unbelievable. Unless you would like to put all your movie collection on to your Ipod then I can definitely assure you that an 80GB capacity would more than cover your requirements. My 18 month contract with T-Mobile is coming up for renewal next week, however having had problems gaining reception in my area I'd opted to look elsewhere for a new contract. A few weeks back my problems were solved when I was shopping around to try and find the best mobile contract, and discovered that O2 would be stocking the Apple iPhone as of November the 9th. Not only was I looking for a new mobile contract, but also a replacement MP3 player so the Apple iPhone seemed ideal. I made plans to purchase the iPhone and on the evening of release made my way down to the nearest O2 store upon finishing work, bagging myself my very own iPhone at a price of £269. ...I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy to use he doesn't need my instruction to use it for the first time. With a large compacity this is certainly one for all generations and is great if you are travelling because you can take advantage of the long life battery and watch films, tv or listen to music while you travel....

Advantages: Incredible memory and looks

...This is probably my most treasured possession. With the size of the memory, you can store more pictures, music and videos than you could ever possibly need. A pro and a con there... If your not going to fill up 80gb, i wouldn't recommend buying this ipod. At the moment i have nearly 6000 songs, and 9 (approx. 1 hour length) videos stored on my ipod classic, and still have 47.3 GB space free. If you can fill it, it's incredible value for money. If you can't, it seems a little pointless. It's very easy to use, you can make playlists on the go, the games are extraordinarily fun- not something i'd normally think about, but the ipod version of solitaire has kept me amused on many a train journey. The battery life is very good, as long as you don't continuously fiddle. The alarm is good... but has failed to wake me (a deep sleeper) up...
