Candy Candy Candy I can't let you go.

...Today I will review the fabulous book Candy by Kevin Brooks I enjoyed reading that book so much, I want to share my experience and present it to the world! Why did I read this book? My best friend recommended it to me - it's her favourite book. She handed me her copy (already ripped and torn because she takes it with her whenever she travels) and I started reading a few days later. Needless to say, I finished the book within 48 hours and was amazed. The cover of this book is also very nice, so I think I would have taken a closer look at it if I had seen it in a shop before. The plot A teen boy called Joe is the teller of this exciting story. He rides a train to London to see a doctor because he has a lump on his wrist. The doctor is a posh, private one, but Joe's father is rich and thus only sends his son to the best...

I want Candy! Creammmmmmyyyy Candy!

Advantages: Great scent, great price, good for a couple of baths at least.

...In February 2009 I travelled to what I believe to be our nearest Lush store, Chelmsford, to purchase a Think Pink gift set which contains 12 lovely Lush scented pink products for £43.99 (before my 10% discount). The Creamy Candy Bath Bubble Bar is exactly what it sounds like. A candy scented, creamy bubble bar to put in to the bath. All you do to use this is run a hot bath and then drop the bubble bar in, it will then fizz away and turn your water a glorious shade of pink as well as making the bath lovely and smooth (be cautious when getting in and out) and it scents your bath and your bathroom with it's deliciously sweet candy-like scent which will linger for hours after the bath water has long drained away. Advantages: Lovely sweet scent, Creates loads of bubbles, leaves skin feeling moisturised

...mind I headed off out to do a bit of shopping, I invested in some new candles, chose a book and a nice bottle of Asti and then headed to Lush for my bath treat. Anybody who has been to a Lush shop will know that there are so many products to chose from, as a new Lush customer I didn't have much experience in what was good or bad so I slowly perused all the items until finally I found the perfect product to help me enjoy my evening of extravagance. The product I chose was a bubble bar slice called Creamy Candy Bath. Bubble bar slices are basically like bubble bath but instead of coming in a liquid form they are sold in solid slices which you crumble into running water. I was initially attracted to the Creamy Candy Bath because it looked attractive. It is a pale pink colour and has a very girlie and feminine look about it...

My 18 month contract with T-Mobile is coming up for renewal next week, however having had problems gaining reception in my area I'd opted to look elsewhere for a new contract. A few weeks back my problems were solved when I was shopping around to try and find the best mobile contract, and discovered that O2 would be stocking the Apple iPhone as of November the 9th. Not only was I looking for a new mobile contract, but also a replacement MP3 player so the Apple iPhone seemed ideal. I made plans to purchase the iPhone and on the evening of release made my way down to the nearest O2 store upon finishing work, bagging myself my very own iPhone at a price of £269. Hard Candy - Madonna

Advantages: Some good songs
Disadvantages: Some not so good songs

...the case. Always a fan of Madonna I was rather dismayed to hear that this album would have an urban/hip hop pop feel to it. "4 minutes" gave us a taster of what we could expect and also gave Madonna her 13th UK number one single. On first hearing this single I was not overly impressed and whilst I admit that the song did grow on me a little it still remains one of my least favourite Madonna singles to date. Unlike previous Madonna releases I remained surprisingly reserved about Hard Candy and I had no immediate plans to rush out and buy it. The weekend before last however I did finally take the plunge and add it to my collection but it would remain intact inside its cellophane seal for three full days until I finally got round to playing it. Review of Hard Candy - Madonna

Not all candy tastes sweet.

Advantages: good acting, fairly gripping
Disadvantages: a bit depressing, some people might be offended/squeamish!

...Candy was released in 2006 and tells the story of two young lovers, artist Candy and poet Dan, becoming more and more involved in drugs, in particular the use of heroin. Candy is played by Abbie Cornish (SOMERSAULT) and Dan by Heath Ledger (BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, A KNIGHT'S TALE). Before watching this movie I had not seen any of Abbie's previous work, but was always impressed by Heath's acting, and after his sad death by accidental overdose in January decided to catch up on some of his work I hadn't yet seen. The film is based on the novel Candy: A Novel of Love and Addiction by Luke Davies, which can be found from £4.83 on Amazon Marketplace or in good bookshops. I have yet to read the book but after watching the film I would be interested to see how similar the two are, it comes with excellent reviews. I cant comment...

Lush Creamy Candy Bubble Bar - I'd share my bath with this anyday

Advantages: It smooths the skin and leaves a lovely fragrance
Disadvantages: None I can think of

...Now when I first did my homework on this (I always read up on an item just in case!) I was slightly concerned that the description is that it mainly smells of vanilla which for me is the worst thing ever. I tend to find vanilla is far to sickly sweet and gives me a headache. But when I think of vanilla I instantly think of the car freshners in vanilla which were vile. Anyway after reading a few reviews and seeing that actually it was more a subtle pleasant smell I decided to give it a whirl. Its one of the cheap bubble bars at £2.20 but I was absolutely amazed at the size of it when it came! It was definately larger than what you would expect which is a nice suprise! Mine had a little blue flower on which was in nice contrast to the candy pink coloured bar. As I took it out its little paper bag I could instantly smell the vanilla...

Sour Candy

Advantages: Great perfomance from Ellen Page, an intriguing thriller
Disadvantages: Doesn't quite live up to all the hype

...sticks in your mind. "Hard Candy" has been tagged by many as the most controversial thriller of the year. Though I wouldn't go so far as to place it among the top flight of thrillers, it is certainly intriguing. It turns the tables on the viewers and characters, teasing out a virtuoso performance from Ellen Page that should kickstart her movie career. However, the final few minutes are a tad anti-climactic and the film could have done with a firmer hand in the editing. With a few tweaks here and there it could have been a great film. As it stands it is merely a good one - but that's no bad thing....
