One problem that I have found with the camera is that if I'm in a room with slightly less than average lighting and I take photo then unless the person that I'm trying to take picture of is straight in front of me then it is useless. ...I received this book as part of my sons first Book Start' pack (for ages 0-12 months) which was given to me (for free) by my health visitor. Of all of the books in the pack, this one was my sons favourite and we have worn it out with so much reading. The story is very simple - a little and big penquin who love doing all kinds of things together, reading stories, splashing in the bath, tickles etc. Each page starts with 'I love it when...' and shows an activity that they share. The illustrations are kept simple but convey the love expressed between the two characters. The book uses bright bold colours and black and white and so would appeal to even the youngest babies. The story finishes with the penquins reading a story, going to bed, kissing goodnight and saying 'I love you' making this the perfect story to read before bedtime...

I Had Time For A Book Like This!

Advantages: Intriguing with great characters and an air of mystery
Disadvantages: Ending was a little disappointing.

...of secrets and I was intrigued from the very start. The story is told in the first person by Georgie, in the present. However each second chapter gives the other three characters a voice, also in the first person. It is through them that we learn how the friends met and their lives have entwined for the past 25 years. It was never difficult to know who we were hearing from at any time, as the chapter begins with their name before ending and going back to Georgie in the present. I really liked this style in this book, as the narrative was reminiscing and wondering, it was like being in each individual characters mind and hearing their thoughts. I felt that the author made a good job of adapting her writing style to suit each of the three characters, stopping the story being monotonous and keeping it interesting.
