...~~ Purchase ~~ I bought my SP122 at Argos over two years ago along with a compatible and matching Acoustic Solutions SP101 Amplifier, Acoustic Solution SP111 DAB/FM Tuner and a pair of Acoustic Solution AVCS Column Stereo Speakers. I took advantage of a deal that was on offer at the time whereby if you bought the amp, tuner and CD player you would receive the speakers for free. ~~ Set up and Appearance ~~ This is an easy to use and uncomplicated CD unit. It's easy and straight forward to set up and attach to other units. I must admit though, it looked much better in the Argos catalogue than it does now that I have it set up in the living room. Ibanez AW15 LG

Advantages: Very affordable top quality acoustic
Disadvantages: if you want this in a cutaway version you'll pay considerably more

...Straight out the box in your lap this guitar screams of QUALITY!!! Your expectations will be surpassed! The sound this guitar produces is exquisite, nice warm pleasant bass tones decent mid-tones, and in the high end its sings like a skylark! It has the best sustain I've ever heard in an acoustic, on a par with my friends Clapton signature Martin, honestly, it's that good. Well constructed, decently finished the solid cedar top, with mahogany inlay looks the part, the smooth solid mahogany neck is a sheer joy to play, the Ibanez tuners are of a reasonable standard. If your looking to upgrade to a high spec acoustic and considering spending double what one of these babes costs...think again, at least try one out, could save you a small fortune, and put one heck of a smile on your face!!!...

Ibanez IC400 Iceman - Let There Be Rock!

Advantages: Lightweight, Low Action, Awesome Shape
Disadvantages: Large Headstock.

...-Ibanez IC400 Iceman- Wow, i have not written a review in YEARS! Since 2005! I feel like my heads about to explode. You'll have to bare with me on this one cause ive got to get back into the swing of things. As with every guitar, the Iceman has a history. Hoshino Gakki, the developer of the Iceman, wanted to make a distinctly Japanese looking guitar, as, before this time, Ibanez had been making replica copies of Fender Strats and Gibson Les Pauls and such. So after a meeting between Ibanez, and another guitar manufacturer, Greco, the "Iceman" design was born. Ibanez got the distributing rights for outside of Japan, and Greco for in Japan. Thats pretty much the history. So now for the guitar itself!! I picked it up second hand from ebay for about 350 quid, although you can buy them new nowadays for anywhere between 420 and 470...

...The Ibanez SM-7 is a tough one to review, it most definitely full fills it's task as a big crushing metal distortion pedal but does very little else. review of Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar

Advantages: very playable

...The Epipiphone Hummingbird is my first Acoustic guitar i have not stolen off my dad. £300 is not a bad deal, seeing as the Gibson acoustics are all around £3000. The looks and finish of this guitar are very nice, i enjoy graphics on my guitar as long as they arent too loud, and this 'mockingbird' illustration is just plain pleasent. The shape of the guitar is perfect so that it can sit on your lap for hours and not ache, partly due to its incredibly light weight. The playability is pretty much perfect, the best you can get for a £300 acoustic, and times I thought I was playing an electric, the fretboard was just so slim, the strings were at perfect distance from the fretboard. The sound is not as good as the playability I must admit, probably because of the lightweight body, it is not hard enough to sustain the notes for a very long...

1 of the elite trio of acoustic brands!!!

Advantages: will last a life time, sounds great, plays great, will not depreciate
Disadvantages: costly to begin with

...After playing for 12 years I had finally found an acoustic that was worthy of being purchased by myself. The acoustic market has an elite trio which consists in my opinion of: Taylor, Gibson and Martin. All offer fantastic tones, comfortable playability, exceptional intonation and superb craftsmanship. They are the bench mark of acoustics that offer outstanding quality which other brands cannot match. To put it quite simply, If you purchase a Martin you will never have to buy another acoustic again, they are the perfect tool for all professional players. In my experience I have never seen one loose any value or sound bad. My advice would be to certainly shop around to find the best deals and Do not just settle on the first that you pick up unless you are instantly happy with its feel and sound. No two acoustics are identical in sound...

Ibanez RG370DX - the all rounder guitar

... Ibanez RG370DX I bought this guitar around 3 months after starting to learn how to play the instrument on a guitar borrowed by a friend. I went to my local music store and played a few guitars in my price range to see what one I liked the most. The Ibanez RG370DX stuck out the most. In my opinion it feels so nice to play - the neck is smooth, the action is not too low and not too high, it is just right. I use the guitar with 9 gauge Roto Sound Orange strings, and I get a really nice sound out the instrument. The guitar is very well contstructed, it is very durable and takes a bit of a beating. It also looks amazing in my opinion, and sounds just as good as it looks, if not better! Review of Ibanez RG370DX Electric Guitar

The Ibanez GSR205 : Value for Money

Advantages: Solid workmanship, useable tones, very versatile.
Disadvantages: Shoddy electronics

...I got this in 2006, plus RM600 in cash; from a dealer who'd always wanted my '81 Fender P-bass. The GSR205 is a good, sturdy; all-round 'gigworthy' bass with a wide palette of tones. I've used it exclusively on a wide array of gigs, from rock to quasi-jazz; and it's held up well. My only grouses are the quality of the electronics and the battery-hungry 'Phat EQ' circuitry. I ended up replacing all the controls with Ernie Ball 500K pots; and getting rid of the entire 'Phat EQ' circuit by rewiring the bass like a stock Fender Jazz Bass (2 Volumes and a Master Tone). So, what I have now is basically a passive bass that still sounds great; without the hassle of changing batteries. The bass sounds clear and clean either through an amp; or a direct box (mine's a Boss) straight into a mixer. I do hope that Ibanez can come up with a GSR205 that...

THE best electro acoustic guitar!

Advantages: Sound, build, playability
Disadvantages: Rounded back can be awkward at first.

...If you have read some of my other guitar reviews, you will know im a bit of a collector of guitars. In fact, you could almost say its an obsession. Therfore no collection would be complete without an axe from one of the world's finest and best known acoustic producers. Ovation. I own the Ovation Celebrity Deluxe which i believe is the finest looking in the Ovation range. However, you will also know that from my other reviews, Im left handed with the guitar which narrows your choice in colour. For a Right hander, the choices include, Black, Natural, Wine, Green and a sunburst effect top and also available in vasious mapel finishes. Im afraid to say my only choice was Black. Still it does look rather fetching and contrasts well with the Marquetry effect leaves around the multiple sound holes. Being an Ovation, it does come...

Disadvantages: Not a gibson but who gives a.....

.... Well, I have played a few guitars in my time and this is certainly up there with the better ones. But I don't do detail and I know that there will be the experts out there who would pull it apart with ease. Most of us aren't such experts and want something that will make them look cool and sound half decent and this certainly does it for me. I will get a new guitar one day, but I'll never get rid of this one. I cart it to school every week to play in assembly so kids hero-worship me and my head gets bigger. I have dropped it, bashed it and generally abused it. It has chips and scratches galore but to me this makes it all the more loveable.
