Ibanez RG370DX - the all rounder guitar

... Ibanez RG370DX I bought this guitar around 3 months after starting to learn how to play the instrument on a guitar borrowed by a friend. I went to my local music store and played a few guitars in my price range to see what one I liked the most. The Ibanez RG370DX stuck out the most. In my opinion it feels so nice to play - the neck is smooth, the action is not too low and not too high, it is just right. I use the guitar with 9 gauge Roto Sound Orange strings, and I get a really nice sound out the instrument. The guitar is very well contstructed, it is very durable and takes a bit of a beating. It also looks amazing in my opinion, and sounds just as good as it looks, if not better! Brilliant guitar, ultra fast and comfortable.

Advantages: Well made, plays great, smooth quick neck, comfortable guitar and low B
Disadvantages: Bad stock pickups, thin finish chips easily.

Great Guitar by Ibanez!! very SGish!!

Advantages: Great weight, tone and price

...I purchased the Ibanez AX320T a few years back and this guitar still surprises me everytime i pick it up. When i went looking for a guitar to buy i was looking for something that felt similar to my old Gibson SG but not at the same price as at the time i didn't have the funds. I looked at the range of guitars in the same price range and so many of them felt too light (Cheap wood) and a bit amatuarish, even one of the PRS's felt cheap! then i spotted the Ibanez. First thing i noticed was that it looked similar and then found out the sound when i plugged it in! Pure Classic Rock tone oozed out of it! :) I'm pretty sure its a mahogany body which explains the nice weighty feel and the pickups are nice and beefy like the SG but also i was surprised to find you can also get a slight strat tone!! ...noises it makes as I slide my fingers expertly up the neck. Cool - sounds like slightly gynaecological porn. Anyway, I am banished to the garage to sing badly to a vague tune. Sacrifice it truly was. It would be on a par with me buying her a megaphone and a period for her birthday. My own suffering would be on a biblical scale. The upshot is that I love my guitar. It would be my 'Desert island Disc'. I want to be buried with it. And that is genuinely for sentimental reasons. In general ------------- I'm not a guitar buff. Some guitary folk talk about guitars in terms of 'bass tones' and 'rough bottom ends'. Oh wait, that's shepherds. They know about 'nuances' and detail. I don't and I suspect neither do you so I won't go on much about the sound. It's frankly a bit of a dull subject. Ibanez are a well known brand in the guitar world...

Ibanez RG270DX - Excellent, in a bland sort of way

...The RG270DX is another of Ibanez's seemingly unlimited supply of quality guitars. Not much differs from this baby to its brethren, except for one or two small features. I bought the guitar from my music shop 2 days after it came in, and like all Ibanez guitars, it impressed. However, I found myself bored and underwhelmed with the guitar, and exchanged it for a Yamaha Pacifica 3 days later. The look is classic Ibanez - Super Strat design with rediculously sharp contours and a great, sporty looking neck. There are many different paint jobs to choose from, black and metallic dark blue included No Ibanez is bad. That said, not many Ibanez guitars are truly great. This guitar falls into the category in the middle, the "Fine" category, where the guitar will please to no end but won't make you scream with pleasure. I find all too often...

Applause Guitars are the younger brother of guitar manufacturers Ovation, who have been making trustworthy guitars for over 30 years now, and here have used this experience to make a guitar that doesn't sound like a guitar that is as cheap as this, but is a high-quality product. My model number is actually the AE 28, rather than the 64, but trust me, from what I know about Ovations and what else I can work out, there are no differences here except the numbers! I brought it in November last year from a local music retailers, who I purchased my two other guitars (both electric), so trusted them fully when they recommended me this offering, and they've not let me down...

...I've owned an Epiphone Dot for over a year now, so I know it intimately. Well, as intimately as a man can get with a guitar anyway! I guess I'll start with the basics for anyone who's just starting out. The Dot is a semi hollow electric guitar, This means thats it has a solid block of wood running lengthways through the body, but has hollow chambers on either side. This means it is more audible than a standard solid electric guitar unplugged, but plugged in has the added bonus it is less prone to unwanted feedback than fully hollows. It has 2 humbucker pickups, a 3 way selector switch which lets you use youre different pickups at different time, and 2 independant tone and volume controls. ...I got this guitar a few months ago at the price of 400 pounds with a free Ibanez hard case - and I have to say I'm very pleased with it. It has two humbucking pick ups in the bridge and neck position and a single coil pickup in the middle, which gives it a large variety of sounds. It was 24 frets plus a Floyd Rose Tremolo system. One of the first things you notice when playing this guitar is it's incredibly thin neck, which I think is standard for most Ibanez guitars (?). People's opinion on the thin neck may vary but personally I think it makes playing a little easier, although this could just be placebo. This is also a very attractive guitar.
