Disadvantages: The food in this hotel was good, but they had a problem keeping the food warm.

Iberostar Tainos, Varadero, Matanzas

Advantages: Beachfront Property
Disadvantages: Its A Long Bus Ride into Varadero Centre

This is standard practice - the cubans can be quite suspicious, especially with mp3 players, camera mobile phones and anything that looks like it could be used for spying. We finally arrive at the Iberostar Tainos about 18:00, and are greated by a Thomas Cook rep who will "assist" us on check-in, his assistance involves putting on our all-inclusive bands. I get checked in, and am really chuffed to find out my request for a bungalow style room has been confimed, and even better, i'm in the closest bungalow block to the beach. First Choice started advertising their new and improved long haul flights and we were well and truly sold. Offering a 36 inch leather seat pitch (largest economy seat pitch by any flight operator), seat back tellys with a choice of 8 blockbuster movies that you could play and pause as you like as well as a selection of games, tv shows and a four course meal. Best of all you got a whopping 30kg hold luggage allowance and 5kg hand luggage - perfect for a girl like me! Cuba is the place to go!

Advantages: Great staff
Disadvantages: 9 hour flight is quite long

...often too hot to play. In the evenings there is an entertainment show with different acts each night such as chicago and latin dancing. The best that i saw was the gymnasts who were amazing. Excursions are available to Havana the the capital of Cuba which is a must see just to witness the conditions the Cubans have to live in. Also you can see Revolution Square where Che Ganvana and Fidel Castro strormed the government ministry and over through the government. The flee market is also a must see where paintings by local artists are available at cheap prices, but make sure you get a exportation certificate or you won't be able to take it out of the country. Overall Veradero in Cuba is a great holiday resort and Iberostar Tainos, voted the 3rd best hotel in Cuba, is the best in the resort and is great value for the Caribbean costing...

Advantages: Beautiful Hotel, Close to Las Americas, but still far enough away

...Spring 2004 my boyfriend and I were deciding where we would like to go for out summer holiday, and after a bit of research into what various places had to offer, we decided to go to Tenerife. We didn't really want to go to Playa De Las Americas, as I've heard that it's a clubbers paradise (not really for me anymore) and my boyfriend had been before and wasn't too keen on it himself. But when we found the Iberostar Bouganville Playa, a hotel that my boyfriend had seen in the flesh, at a good price, we couldn't resist. So there and then, we booked it for early June.
