Ibis Amsterdam Stopera
Advantages: Great location, cheap, clean
Disadvantages: Budget hotel
...I stayed at the Ibis Stopera in Amsterdam in April 2006 with two friends and would definitely recommend it for anyone who it looking for a budget hotel that can be relied on.
For anyone who hasn't stayed in an Ibis hotel before I would describe them as a superior travelodge. In other words, no matter which one you go to, you generally know what you're getting. Always clean and a good service. There was also a bar.
For three girls on a budget the Ibis Stopera was perfect as they have triple rooms available, this made it a very reasonable rate when split between the three of us - and this included breakfast (which was very nice). We had a lovely ground floor room which looked out onto the canal at the back of the hotel.

Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner re-assessed!
Advantages: Proximity to station, bus stop
Disadvantages: Slightly difficult to find, poor breakfast
...On our latest European city visit, we decided to stay at the Ibis Wescorner. It was well located outside the bustling city centre in the Transformatorweg of Amsterdam Sloterdijk. It was walking distance from the main train station, however we walked around for 15 odd minutes before we saw signs giving us the proper directions to the hotel. The directions we printed off the hotel website were not too clear, however we asked a couple people who pointed us in the right direction. There was also a bus stop conveniently located outside which we used to get into Amsterdam Centraal in just under 15 minutes.
The service at the hotel was average for a hotel of that standard, although we were able to purchase bus passes in the lobby for around £10. The staff were professional and courteous and made sure they mentioned that they would look into...

Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner
Advantages: Location, Comfort
Disadvantages: Telephone charges, travel information, lack of some creature comforts, no breakfast included in room price
...We chose the Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner for a weekend trip to Amsterdam.
The Hotel Ibis Westcorner is located in Westpoort, to the north-west of the city centre. Because of this it probably isn't too popular with tourists who prefer central locations. However, it is very easy to get to - just take the train to Sloterdjik station, 6 minutes and one stop away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Almost every train west from Amsterdam stops there, so you can get back late at night without any problems, and it's also relatively cheap, at under 2 Euros one-way. There is also a bus, but we didn't try it. Actually, we found the tyrain station by trial and error - when we asked the hotel staff how to get in to the centre, they didn't even mention it, and we had trouble navigating to it from the hotel, as Westpoort is a district of tall...

Ibis Sheffield - the heat is on, no it's off again!
Advantages: Good location, good value for money
Disadvantages: No additional facilties
...A low budget weekend getaway (thanks to National Express for the £1 each way offer!) called for a low cost hotel. I remembered someone saying that the Accor family member Etap now had a hotel in Sheffield but, situated by the Don Valley Stadium, it was a little too far out of town to be practical for such a short stay. As I am now the proud owner of an Accor hotels loyalty card I decided to check the Accor website and see if any other reasonably priced hotels presented themselves and this was how we came to choose the Ibis. I know this will sound strange to those readers who like a certain ?standard? of accommodation but I have rarely considered Ibis hotels because I?ve always thought them to be pricey; in any case I tend to look at hostel and bed and breakfast accommodation before I look at hotel options.
We were quoted £49...

Ibis Euston - good deals to be had
Advantages: Good location, not too noisy, good value if on offer
Disadvantages: Slow check in
...Although I am usually to be heard extolling the virtues of hostels and small private hotels, I have of late found myself increasingly turning to Accor hotels. Admittedly I do look at their cheaper chains first but I have managed to get myself some reasonable rates at some of their mid-priced hotels too. The same rooms can be available at several different rates and differ according to certain conditions. You?ll get the best rate if you are prepared to pay fully in advance and risk losing your payment if you cancel.
This is how we managed to pay a, not unreasonable, rate of £63 for a double room at Ibis Euston on a Saturday in late November. The standard rate advertised outside the hotel is £129 so this represents a good saving.
Although we were traveling into and out of Kings Cross we were happy enough to stay at Euston as...

Ibis Graz - where the smoke gets up your nose
Advantages: Useful location for transport; clean comfortable
Disadvantages: Smoky lobby; over-priced if no offer available
...If like me you are the sort of person who prefers to stay in more moderate hotel accommodation in order to have more money to spend on things like eating out (or the purchasing of horrific souvenirs) you may be interested to know that to celebrate their 30th anniversary, some of the brands that fall under the Accor umbrella are offering a limited number of rooms at special rates this year. It does mean that you can't alter your reservation and won't qualify for a refund if you cancel but for those travellers who are willing to risk that, there are bargains to be had.
In mid-June we are going to Hanover and have booked a double room in a very central Mercure hotel for just 39 Euro per night and have just stayed in the Ibis Graz, the subject of this review, for 59 Euro for a double room, a saving of some 20 Euro based on two people...

Ibis Paderborn (Germany)- Sehr Gut!
Advantages: Clean, Servicable, Friendly
Disadvantages: No Pool!
...Welcome to my review on the Ibis hotel, Paderborn.
Ibis.
Ibis is a parent name for many franchises world wide. Each hotel is owned and run by individuals trading as Ibis, complying to the companies standards and ethics.
Ibis has a base standard work line for all its hotels, and you will find a standardisation between all of them.

Ibis - York
Advantages: Close to York center and attractions
Disadvantages: Basic hotel with basic features
...Arrived at the hotel at around 1pm on Friday 19th December. We eventually found the car park even though it was not sign posted at all (little side street to left of the Ibis and right behind the building). Giving the time of year we were relieved to find a space but there aren't many spaces at all so I suggest you arrive as early as you can. Once we got our very heavy case out of the car, we had to walk round the building again as there is no entry to the hotel from the car park which is very inconvenient. What is even worse is that there are steps up to the hotel and, with a case, it is extremely difficult to get it up them. There was a disabled lift next to the steps for wheelchairs but we had no way of operating it ourselves as a member of staff has to do it and there was no staff there.

The Ibis Hotel, Wellingborough, Northants
Advantages: Very welcoming staff. Pets welcomed. Disabled access
Disadvantages: None that i could see.
...The Ibis hotel in Wellingborough in my opinion is a lovely hotel. It is located 2 km from the town centre and 2.5 km from the railway station It's also located just off the A45 to Northampton and M1 Junc 15 (approx 7 miles) making it ideally located for easy shopping trips. It's smashing for either weekday or weekend stays, very reasonably priced, and with the added bonus of events such the annual Drag racing events at Santa Pod and the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix race track, to mention but a couple. Close to numerous pubs, restaurants, with a Macdonalds within walking distance too, the hotel features a bar serving snacks 24 hours 7 days a week which was great, room service, free outdoor parking and a meeting room for seminars and conferences. The hotel also has wireless Internet access which made working from my room a pleasure...

IBIS Stevenage
Advantages: Food, Price
Disadvantages: Service, Room quality,
...I was starting a new job in the Stevenage region about a month ago and needed somewhere to stay so it seemed logical for me to select somewhere of reasonable price. Ibis seemed to fit that bill - It was £47 a night with continental breakfast being £5.50. I booked in for a 3 night stay.
From the outside it just seems to be a standard chain hotel, nothing spectacular. Expectation was that it would be fairly minimalist but clean and friendly.
The guy at check in was very friendly and helped me register my details - he was consciencious and helpful. A credit to the company.
However this is where the pleasantries stopped. The lift up to the rooms was rickety and felt like it was going to stop working at any moment - it was ancient.
After the little lift scare I found my room. I entered the room and all seemed fine until I looked...
