The Ibis Hotel, Wellingborough, Northants

...The Ibis hotel in Wellingborough in my opinion is a lovely hotel. It is located 2 km from the town centre and 2.5 km from the railway station It's also located just off the A45 to Northampton and M1 Junc 15 (approx 7 miles) making it ideally located for easy shopping trips. It's smashing for either weekday or weekend stays, very reasonably priced, and with the added bonus of events such the annual Drag racing events at Santa Pod and the Silverstone F1 Grand Prix race track, to mention but a couple. Close to numerous pubs, restaurants, with a Macdonalds within walking distance too, the hotel features a bar serving snacks 24 hours 7 days a week which was great, room service, free outdoor parking and a meeting room for seminars and conferences. The hotel also has wireless Internet access which made working from my room a pleasure...

...In January I went to see Justin Timberlake in concert (again) this is my 3rd time. I and my Sister Lizzy (Hello love) didn?t want to travel home again after the exciting show so we decided to stay in a Hotel. We went looking for a Hotel and found the Ibis Hotel. It was fairly close to Piccadilly station which was very convenient for us. We went into the building and it all looked very nice. There was a bar and lots of tables and seating areas, and at the back of the entrance was the reception. We booked a room for 2 with no problems. The room cost £46.00 for the night which we found very good as we were splitting the cost. £46.00 is the standard rate for weekends. For week days it is still only £48.00. IBIS hotel - Swindon

Advantages: Cheap, easy to find, friendly helpful staff
Disadvantages: Needs refurbishing

...My wife and I stayed at the IBIS hotel in West Swindon last weekend as we were going to a friends 40th birthday party that evening and neither us fancied the lengthy drive home in the early hours of the morning. We booked in for 1 night, planning to arrive on Saturday afternoon and leave on Sunday morning. We chose the IBIS because we wanted a budget hotel and because it was located very close to where the party was being held. Ibis - York

Advantages: Close to York center and attractions
Disadvantages: Basic hotel with basic features

...Arrived at the hotel at around 1pm on Friday 19th December. We eventually found the car park even though it was not sign posted at all (little side street to left of the Ibis and right behind the building). Giving the time of year we were relieved to find a space but there aren't many spaces at all so I suggest you arrive as early as you can. Once we got our very heavy case out of the car, we had to walk round the building again as there is no entry to the hotel from the car park which is very inconvenient. What is even worse is that there are steps up to the hotel and, with a case, it is extremely difficult to get it up them. ...We chose the Hotel Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner for a weekend trip to Amsterdam. The Hotel Ibis Westcorner is located in Westpoort, to the north-west of the city centre. Because of this it probably isn't too popular with tourists who prefer central locations. However, it is very easy to get to - just take the train to Sloterdjik station, 6 minutes and one stop away from Amsterdam Centraal Station. Almost every train west from Amsterdam stops there, so you can get back late at night without any problems, and it's also relatively cheap, at under 2 Euros one-way. There is also a bus, but we didn't try it. Actually, we found the tyrain station by trial and error - when we asked the hotel staff how to get in to the centre, they didn't even mention it, and we had trouble navigating to it from the hotel, as Westpoort is a district of tall...

...My impression of this hotel is not a good one there are several major problems I encountered during my stay. Firstly the room: There was a layer of dust on the skirting boars thick enough to show it had not been dusted in weeks. The room was also not hovered at all during my stay. The shower room had an extractor fan which not only did not work but it also was thick with dust. The shower tray its self had dirt and grime encrusted in one corner. There was no hair dryer in the room, although you could request one from the reception. There was also no safe in the room for valubles. The TV claimed to receive eight channels, it in fact only received four and only two of these had a watchable picture. The only 'servicing' the room seamed to recieve was for the bed to be very badly pulled together. There was a phone in the room, but...

A night at the Ibis

...This past weekend I was lucky enough to have tickets to the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, held at Albert Park in Melbourne. We had booked a 7.30am flight from Sydney and we landed in Melbourne at 8.45am bleary eyed but exited. The hotel is about 25 minutes way by coach from Melbourne's main airport, Tullamarine, and we pulled in at Southern Cross bus station which was a short 5 minute stroll to the hotel. It was too early to expect to get into our room at the Ibis but we were hoping they'd keep our luggage safe for is so we could get off to the track. When we arrived we explained what our plan was for the day and the receptionist was very helpful and accommodating, giving us a couple of options for luggage storage and checking us in so that we would have no hassle when we returned that evening. Stayed at the Ibis 4 Nights Commencing 1st Nov 2009

Advantages: Location- Close to center , It has Parking, Bar is nice
Disadvantages: Service is terrible, No Bath, food takes ages and was sub-standard

...I stayed in this "hotel" commencing the 1st Nov 2009, and this is what i thought: Location The location of the hotel is just outside the center of York, York is a really nice old city with a much history and lots to do as a torist Parking The parking of the hotel is around the back of the hotel with only a tiny entrance, it is not signed so difficult to find if you not aware where it is. The amount of parking spaces was lacking to say the least, I arrived at 3pm and found a space no problem but i left for work and arrivved back at 9pm and there was only disabled parking spaces left. There were no realistic off street parking as this was for a max stay of one hour. Although the car park did have signs stating it had CCTV non was visable so dont think the had it. Hotel Ibis Montrouge

Advantages: Good location, clean, safe, friendly multi-lingual staff
Disadvantages: A bit basic, rooms were quite small.

.... There is a "Buffalo Grill" about 10 minutes walk too which is like a chain restaurant which specializes in meat dishes. The staff here are very friendly and the wine is cheap. I cannot remember how much it cost to stay in this hotel. But you can find it on the Ibis website. I think that if you want to see Paris then staying in this hotel is fine if that's all you want to do. Overall hotel rating 6/10...
