IBM POWER PROCSSOR BOARD.

Advantages: CONFIGURES IN TWO WAYS.
Disadvantages: MIGHT BE COSTLY TO SOME.

...Well this actually awakens your pc by increasing the processing speed of your PC. My previous processor, which is Intel, has actually gone old so I needed some up grade. In terms of recommendations, I will highly recommend this to the fullest because of its processing speed and efficiency. With the 2-way 1.65ghz processor with a 36mb l cache, the processor board is capable of processing perfectly and all right so this is a good alternative if you actually want to upgrade your PC. The cache memory has good memory capacity of 72mb L3 cache. The new processor on the p5-550 allows you to configure in both ways either a 2- way or 4 way system. With the new 1.65ghz processor, there are wide ranges of system storage offerings. As a pc gamer, the new IBM processor board has given me some special entertainment with my games by...

IBM Quality @ IBM Price

Advantages: Good extra features. Can play CD's from keyboard
Disadvantages: Price?

...let’s get the ergonomic bit out of the way. The left hand ⅞ of the keyboard are bog standard in appearance, except for the discrete corporate blue logo in top left. You get a clip-on front apron for extra wrist support, making it at least look like an ergonomic keyboard. I haven’t use mine because the sliding drawer beneath my bench needs a rectangular board to fit properly. Underneath are two extendable props to allow for different angles of tilt. As per normal, you get a PS/2 and DIN adapter for the back of your PC. Keys click with the usual sound and pressure of most quality keyboards. So, not a lot for your £30 there then? Hold on, the other ⅛ of the board holds the secret. Across the top, you’ve got a button with an illuminated moon in it – ah, isn’t that sweet. This is to...

Review of IBM Rapid Access II - keyboard

A Cheap core2 duo processor with handy features.

Advantages: High FSB, large L2 cache memory, 64 bit architecture, operates in low voltage.
Disadvantages: Does not support Hyper-threading technology, very poor L1 cache memory.

...definitely one of the better choices to the consumers. STANDARD FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES 1. Manufactured in 65nm size, results faster response and quicker execution of Data and programs. 2. Consists of multi core, enables twice speed for data processing. 3. Massive operating frequency of 2.2 GHz. 4. 2MB of L2cache memory allows the user to perform different programs at the same time. Larger cache memory virtually allows the user more freedom to execute several programs at the same time without decreasing the processing speed. 5. Front side bus (FSB) speed up to 800 MHz. This is really a useful feature, as FSB is working as the connector between the processor and different hardware of the system using the chipset. So the higher the FSB, the speedy and faster response. 6. Supports Intel 64 architecture, though it also required a 64-bit...

Inexpensive High-End performance Processor Phenom II X4 940

Advantages: Low Price, High Performance, High overlock capability
Disadvantages: None

...One month ago I decided to bought this AMD Black Edition AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor to upgrade my old one. I choose it because I need more powerful performance to operate my favorite games and some design graphics activity which need high end peripherals requirement to run smooth. I combined this processor with my existing peripheral such TA790GX motherboard, 8Gb Ram and 512Mb DDR3 GeForce 9600GT PCI-X Graphic card. Since the first time I booting up using this Phenom II X4 940, I found my computer run absolutely faster when loading my Windows, more than 2 times using my old processor. When I try to run my favorite games PES2009 and NFS Carbon, I can run both games so smooth at highest detail setting. I have also overlock it up to 3,4Ghz and run for a day and I found still stable performance and just a little heat, but I think it is...

AMD 64 4200+ X2 AM2 (2.2GHz) processor!

Advantages: Dual Core, Low power usage* and Fast!
Disadvantages: Motherboards can be costly for this!

...I used this processor to build a completely new computer for xmas (a present for myself ha ha!) and when i first opened the box it was the usual core. In the package there was the core, cool silver gel, heatsink (fan) and the instructions. I had to buy a new motherboard anyway but be wary the motherboards for the AM2 versions can be rather pricey but the advantage of AM2 means that a lower power usage and so a cooler processor and less fans needed! Also the AM2 board means that the memory accepted is the newer DDR2 RAM which is roughly the same price as DDR RAM but faster! Excellent! Installing the processor was little trouble and there were no problems. The performance of the processor is excellent, dual cores are excellent things! I bought this after thinking about buying a dual core pentium however they are very similar but...

Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ / 2.2 GHz processor

competitive with quad core processors

Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: none

...Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz *** This is my favorite processor and I love to have this in my one of the PC at home due to its great performance and speed. Some processors are really very affordable and trustable with long run capacity and features to provide similar kind of performance as new one. This processor also a kind of processor which can give us reliable performance with its advanced features and speed. *** Core2 duo family from Intel is very popular and most of the desktop PCs and notebooks have this one as first priority. We haven't seen quad core processor in any notebook and core 2 duo processors are most popular with almost all notebooks. But there are slightly differences in notebook processors and desktop processors. We have some low power consuming series processors for notebooks and slightly higher one for desktop...

P4 3.2GHz CPU with 512Kb Cache! Expensive but fast

Advantages: FAST, Retail box comes with fan, sticker, manual
Disadvantages: More expensive than Celerons, AMDs, etc

...Okay, so I bought myself a motherboard (see Asus P4C800-E Deluxe review) to build a computer but it?s not a computer without the rest of the components. One of these other components I needed was the CPU. ?HUH? A C-P-What?!!!??.Well since you ask, I will tell you. CPU is an acronym for Central Processing Unit (aka: Processor). This is the computer?s brain and it plays an important role in a computer. This is where all the information ?processed? and where all the calculations are done. Generally, the faster the CPU, the better the performance but there are other factors to take into consideration. It usually looks like a square metal thing, with gold pins underneath but Pentium 3?s have a single connector that slots into a slot rather than use pins. The CPU I am reviewing is Intel?s Pentium 4 (P4 for short) 3.2GHz CPU. This one has...

My Dream Machine CPU - P4 Prescott 2.8GHz

Advantages: Very Fast, Latest technology
Disadvantages: Not 64 bit like AMD, heat problems

...In the second on my series of computer component reviews, I would like to offer you the Pentium 4 Prescott 2.8Ghz. --------------------- Prescott? --------------------- Intel have produced 5 versions of their pentium 4 range. The first was the Willamite which would only accept RD RAM and was very short lived. The next was the Northwood, which is the one which sits in most computers nowadays. Then there's the ridiculously expensive Extreme Edition, for really silly gamers who want huge performance from their machines. And of course the P4-M for laptops. This processor is designed to give max performance on the move. But there's a new version on the block called Prescott. This, I decided, was the chip for me. Firstly, it's got the 800MHz front serial bus found in the later versions of the Northwood. The FSB speed makes...

The best processor you can get

Advantages: Fast speeds, four cores, great overclocking potential, easy to install
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!

...General Overview: The Q6600 Is a fantastic new chip by Intel. It provides the end user with an extremely powerful, cheap and multi-purpose chip. At one point this chip would cost you £500 alone. Now they have cut the price down to roughly £170 making it the perfect choice for enthusiasts and gamers alike. The Q6600 has four cores each running at 2.4Ghz with 8mb L2 cache which means it can do four times the work in the same amount of time compared to a single 2.4Ghz core. The Q6600 runs on a 1066Mhz FSB (FSB is the "Front Side Bus" this tells the processor how fast to run when combined with the processor's multiplier which is different depending on which CPU you buy. Increasing the FSB will increase the speed of the processor, known as "Overclocking", there is a section in this review on overclocking for those who are interested...
