...IBM provide a 30day up and running facility to get you started. Very useful as the modem was not configured from factory, for use in UK. However, as an experienced user of PCs I found most of the problems started after this period. My Hard Drive has been re-formatted (taking about 30 minutes) twice, but has been operating efficiently for abut 6 months. Hardware support is excellent, covered by a 12 month warranty. Manuals are basic, but a comprehensive windows-based help manual is available. Lifetime IBM on line support for as long you own the PC.... Read review

Advantages: Cool Colour
Disadvantages: only 2MB of RAM

...The IBM WorkPad C3, is more that just a Palm device it is a Statement. Telling every one that not only do you, master cool technology but you can make it look good. So for any one wanting to buy a Palm product buy a IBM WorkPad because it is a personal statement. I know it sounds stupid but never the less it is true, and I speak from "on the road" tests. Downsides it that the device only comes with 2mb of RAM and is noy upgradeable so any future buyers should go for the IBM WorkPad C3x.... Read review

...I have been setup 30 piece of IBM R50 thinkpad for a new company. Basically what happen is I encounter IBM have thier own software install when the brand new R50 delivery to the customer. The most rediculors things is the IBM software use up 3 GB space which not inluded the Operating system. Which mean this R50 come with 40GB harddrive, user only will have 30GB to use, the rest is software usage. Come to the point of hardware issue. This product come with centrino 1.5 and built-in WIFI. Everything is solid look and reliable. Boot up is not as fast as what you think after all the personal software installation which use for startup program. Make you feel like not a 1.5 centrino product. I do not advice home user getting this laptop is because you will get bored of the look. If you insist to get a IBM. I would advice you to get a T41p... Advantages: A trustworthy Notebook from the creators of the PC
Disadvantages: Now a little out of date

...There are many notebooks avaliable today, from your £300 own brand notebooks to the £1000 top of the range notebooks. IBM provides notebooks for all price ranges. The T series is the ultimate in Travel Notebooks, they combine performance and reliability with travel. These are there Top Models. All T series' have an outstanding battery life, my T23 started with 4 REAL hours of usability. Most manufacturers claim 3-4 hours but when IBM says 4 Hours, they actually mean it, bearing in mind that my battery is 2 years old. The Notebook comes with some really good IBM plus points, like the nipple, and the keyboard light. Yes this notebook has a nipple, this may sound strange, but it is the best alternative to the mouse, it is more accurate and much easier to use than a glide pad. Advantages: Big, fast, fairly quiet. + CHEAP
Disadvantages: IDE?

...OK...This is a very large and cheap hard drive. What can I say but IBM have done a superb job with this set of hard drives. The Deskstar 75GXP series all run at 7200rpm via IDE connection, and I think capacities from 20Gb to 65Gb. This 30Gb drive I'm reviewing here is an excellent upgrade. I upgraded from a 6Gb hard drive which had UDMA33 Connection, and a 5200rpm. Performance differences between my old drive and this IBM one is not dramatic but noticeable. For one thing it can make applications run a lot faster, and due to its higher rpm, it can process and save files slightly quicker. What I am amazed about is the quietness of it, there is a noise as you turn it on, but after it has initiated it you cannot hear it spinning, unless your computer has no fans...even the power supply fan which is really quiet drowns out the sound... Advantages: Quick and smooth journey
Disadvantages: The trolley food was limited to basic snacks

...4 of my friends and I went from Chester to Manchester last Saturday afternoon on the 13:52 train which only took an hour to travel to and from the above destinations. The outward train was only 5 minutes late and was a very enjoyable smooth journey. I have booked the tickets over the internet and ordered tickets which gave me seat order numbers. When we got on the train people were sat in our seats but no seats were really reserved. The tickets had only cost us £9.10 return (a £1 saving by ordering over the internet per person) and so we though "what the hell it was a bargain really". The train had a mixture of forward seats and tabled seats which was quite nice as we were drinking a bottle of wine between us all so the table came in handy. A food trolley did go down the aisles but you had to really shout if you wanted something... Read review

Advantages: A book that never can be put down, a great novel writer
Disadvantages: none

..., the story shows you how Napoleon's invasion rocks the Russian Nation. From this point on i couldn't put this classic novel down it made me feel as i was there in the room with the aristrocats discussing these issues. As this story was written after Leo Tolstory's marriage it made me feel that he was searching for something or someone. War and Peace is a magnificant acheviement and personal in its braod depiction of human insight and experience. If you have never read this book you will fall in love with the story, the book is around 1352 pages, a very long book, bbut if you like classic books this certainly the one to read. Why not check out my other opinion on Jane Austen's EMMA if you like classic books. This is a true epic, it captures everything a novel could capture.... Read review

Advantages: Very low cost
Disadvantages: No potential

...If you are two users working from home, or you require a small good value box to act as a small scale scanned document server then this is the one for you, load it up with your favourite operating system, chuck it in the corner and away you go. i would however advise that you put in a second hard drive and at the very least run on a mirrored pair. At least that way if one drive fails you can carry on working whilst you wait for the replacement. When I think of server I think SCSI hard drives, fault tolerence and expandability of which this server has none by default and whilst IBM products are generally built to a high specification I have never been a big fan of using SATA drives where constant disk access is required. Likewise the celeron processor does not easily lend itself to blistering performance but, on the other side... Read review
