IBM POWER PROCSSOR BOARD.
Advantages: CONFIGURES IN TWO WAYS.
Disadvantages: MIGHT BE COSTLY TO SOME.
...Well this actually awakens your pc by increasing the processing speed of your PC. My previous processor, which is Intel, has actually gone old so I needed some up grade. In terms of recommendations, I will highly recommend this to the fullest because of its processing speed and efficiency.
With the 2-way 1.65ghz processor with a 36mb l cache, the processor board is capable of processing perfectly and all right so this is a good alternative if you actually want to upgrade your PC.
The cache memory has good memory capacity of 72mb L3 cache. The new processor on the p5-550 allows you to configure in both ways either a 2- way or 4 way system. With the new 1.65ghz processor, there are wide ranges of system storage offerings.
As a pc gamer, the new IBM processor board has given me some special entertainment with my games by...

NetVista A40i upgraded
Advantages: Really improved with extra RAM
Disadvantages: music jumps with connection.
...I wrote a review a few weeks ago about my NetVista A40i. (see below) and I was really impressed even then. Well, I am writing to report the upgrades I have made to the system.
The problems I mentioned in the last review, which were the music skipping on conncetion/disconnection of the modem, time taken for the modem to disconnect, have not, alas, been solved.
But.
I installed a network card (MENTOR) which was no great shakes, and a hub (also mentor) and wired it up to my friends computer which is in the same room, with CAT5. This network is working seamlessly, with TCP/IP and IPX, and I run my scanner on his computer and the printer on mine and there is no delays or anything. With the WinME on my machine, when I placed the card in and switched on, it recognised the chipset and installed the appropriate drivers on its own...

Good things in small packages
Advantages: Small and perfectly formed
Disadvantages: Limited upgrade path
..., and you'll probably have no difficulty in believing that 'unstable' was a bit of an understatement.
I put it to them that anything I did to resurrect the system was going to be temporary, and that they needed something with a bit more clout to see them through the next couple of years at least.
We ended up selecting a reconditioned Deskpro EN, with an 800MHz PIII processor 14Gb hard drive, and had been upgraded to 256Mb of memory.
The cost from an ebay reseller was around £120 without operating system, in a 'buy it now' auction - when it arrived, it revealed it's 'enterprise culture' heritage by arriving with a 16Mb Token Ring card installed - this was immediately pulled & stuck in my spares box - somehow I just can't bring myself to throw these out, even though they are virtually useless in the 'real world'
The system is based...

Perfectly competent corporate desktop
Advantages: Bread and butter, bog standard box, predictable and easy to deploy
Disadvantages: Not the lowest price for specification
...suggest it's a system based around a single motherboard with 'integrated everything' you could want for a standard desktop unit.
The particular model I use is built in a 'standard desktop' format - or to put it rather less politely, a big flat horizontal slab upon which you rest your monitor.
The box comes in the somewhat austere corporate box, at one time, they tried to sex the look up by describing it as 'stealth black' nine out of ten for trying, two out of ten for looks - actually, I'll revise that to a six, as I don't mind plastic and tin looking like plastic and tin, and I hate silver paint for the sake of it!
Mine came with a CD-Rom (not a DVD) and a 3.5" floppy drive.
- it surprises me that floppies still come as standard, I can't remember the last time I used one, 1.4Mb doesn't get you very far these days (I downloaded...

SAMSUNG NP-NC10 Blue Netbook 1.6ghz Atom Processor
Advantages: Robust, Large Keyboard, Large Screen, Good Support.
Disadvantages: 1 Memory Slot, No Mobile Broadband Sim Slot, Specific keyboard key in unusual place.
...This netbook has to be one of my favourites, boasting a solid case, 10' screen and a fast bootup to Windows XP. Having played around with a few netbooks recently all boasting similar specifications, I can honestly say that I was not disappointed with this offering from Samsung.
There are some negatives that let this review down slightly, so I will get these out of the way first.
1. The "\" key is located on the right side of the keyboard next to the "/" key. This takes some getting used to when swapping from a normal keyboard and you tend to select this by accident instead of the shift key.
2. There is no mobile broadband sim socket, so you have to buy one of the mobile broadband usb sticks which is fine but it would have been neater to simply keep a sim permanently in the netbook.
3. The BIOS on my netbook was out of date...

375GBP Big Brand Budget Bargain
Advantages: IBM reputation, support, quality, Duron CPU, 200Mhz motherboard, 4X AGP slot, software package
Disadvantages: No matter how much you dislike to be seen in Comet, I think they are the only ones selling it. No paper manuals
...'IBM' and 'low price' have not really sat very happily in the same sentence and certainly not the three words 'IBM' 'low price' AND Comet - which is not known for low prices, and where I acquired mine. But Comet are (unusually) selling, as of writing, an IBM NetVista system for less than £500 with 15" monitor, and £375 without the monitor.
I initially thought they had priced it wrong! Anyhow, I took the package without the monitor for a penny under £375, that's cheaper than many 'kit' computers and lesser brands. Exact IBM model number is a 2284-12g (the 12g signifies its the model without the 15" screen)
HARDWARE: >
The smart, (sexy) dark graphite corporate looking TOWER case houses a 600 Mhz AMD Duron processor which is highly rated in Ciao and in the PC press in general. Cutting the story short, it slaughters the Celeron which...

IBM Quality @ IBM Price
Advantages: Good extra features. Can play CD's from keyboard
Disadvantages: Price?
...put your PC to “sleep” if it’s so configured. Also on top, there’s a blue “Help” button, which apes the F1 function, which must lie at least a foot away on the left!
Down the right-hand side is a row of 4 short-cut buttons, which can be pre-programmed to load software of your choice. IBM have printed an insert for you, on the assumption that word-processor, spreadsheet and internet access are going to be the big three, within one other blank, which I have taken to be my Quicken banking software. Notwithstanding IBM’s printed label, there is nothing to stop you programming all four yourself.
The software to configure your board comes on CD-ROM and is easy to install. It adds another icon within Control Panel, which I feel is the best place for it.
Now comes the “pièce de résistance...

IBM Viavoice
Advantages: ease of use for people who have difficulty typing
Disadvantages: used in certain applications, may slow them down.
.... I found this process much faster and able to cope with me talking pretty fast.
Finally, I am in-fact using this product to dictate this review, and have only had to correct three misrecognised words.
My overall satisfaction rate so far (1 months usage) is an 8 out of 10....

Another featured pack with 14.1"
Advantages: latest featured notebook with DDR3 RAM
Disadvantages: 6 cell battery
...Samsung P460
Samsung is rocking with its latest P series notebooks with highly configured features and latest technology. Earlier I have reviewed 15.4" series P560 which also was loaded with good features and now in this series I have chose another popular 14.1" screen size laptop.
***
I will discuss here good features of this laptop and its advantages as well as disadvantages also. First of all I always use to keep write on processor and here also a good processor we can have. The time is now for multicore processor and kipping this tradition on Samsung has provided, Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 with clock speed of 2.4 GHz and front size bus speed is 1066 MHz, Another point that should be consider in processor is its L2 cache size and in this processor it has 3MN of L2 cache size, front size bus speed and L2 cache are common in both...

Celeron Or PIII
Advantages: Cheap,reliable
Disadvantages: not for graphics, or design application
...If you want to to build a low-cost but reliable system, the Intel Celeron chip is always the chip I consider using in comparison with all the other chip like AMD or etc . The celeron is fast enough to watch DVD from the computer write application have multiboot system. Play games etc. From the other hand if you using graphics packages or design programm don't go for celeron Dot think about the money buy a PIII which is more fast in this kind of application.
But ofcourse is much more expensive. I can also recomend overclocking the celeron which is safe, Intel know about they first use to overclocking the DX2 33 to 66Mz. But however the decision is yours....
