...When I was younger my grandma and I always used to bake cakes at the weekend. My favourites were the Coffee cake or the Marble cake. We always seemed to make large, share sized cakes fitted for all, but never little fairy cakes or little cup cakes. Advantages: a lovely film Disadvantages: not for the lads
...'Ice Princess' is a Disney film aimed at girls from about the age of 8 onwards. Let's put it this way, it shouldn't really appeal to a 28 year old mother of 3. However, I love it! My sister lent me this film when it first came out on DVD in 2005 and I soon made sure that I had a copy of my own. I think my sister originally decided to give it a try because she's a huge 'Buffy' and 'Angel' fan and the star of this film, Michelle Trachenberg, started out playing Dawn in Buffy.
'Ice Princess' was directed by Tim Fywell and is the story of Cacey Carlyle, a science loving geek who is beginning her final year at high school and is hoping to be accepted to Harvard. Harvard is what Cacey and her Mum [played by Joan Cusack] have always dreamed of and what she has been working towards throughout school.

...Summer summer summertime and that only means one thing, ice cream! I love it when it's hot outside as i now have a good excuse to eat ice cream, as if you really need an excuse, but anyway.
One of my favourite ways to eat ice cream is in bar form and in my opinion one of the best ranges around is the range from Magnum! Magnum is an ice cream brand is owned by the British/Dutch Unilever company. They have quite a lot of different flavours that they produce now, including the ones that they have released the last couple of years such as Mayan Mystica, Ecuador Dark and Colombia aroma but I have to say that my favourite is actually the original version, now known as the Magnum classic.
The Magnum Classic first came out in 1989 and was just called Magnum but was later rebranded. It can be likened to a choc ice, ie vanilla ice cream covered...

On a recent trip to Copenhagen we were looking for somewhere a little different to spend an evening. Skipping through the various online guides we came across the Absolut Ice Bar, part of the Absolut Ice chain. It sounded like a fun and different place to go so we booked and looked forward to a unique experience.

The Absolut Ice experience started with the Ice Hotel, built in Jukkasjärvi in Northern Sweden back in 1994. This small town of just 500 inhabitants lies some 200 kilometres from the Arctic Circle and doesn't even see the sun during the winter. It would be fair to call it remote.

On my last holiday abroad it was part of my daily beverages for a fortnight. Whilst holidaying on the Algarve, Portugal, I found that the hot, hot, hot weather made me incredibly thirsty. ...Good grief! Can you believe it, I haven?t written about anything alcoholic for over two months! I?ve just got to put that right, right now!
To be fair I haven?t had much of a taste for my usual wines this last few weeks due to a nasty cold which have left my sense of taste and smell rather lacking. So my latest kick for an alcoholic beverage is Smirnoff Ice as it combines a nice long flavoursome drink with a touch of alcohol.
In the early days of my drinking ?career? I was a vodka and lemonade devotee, then I moved on to bitter and stout, occasional lager (far too gassy!) then on to wines. So drinking Smirnoff Ice has a little touch of nostalgia about it as it is chiefly a vodka and lemonade drink but with a little more distinctive taste.

...After reading several opinions here on Ciao about the Movie ?Ice Age? I decided to rent myself a copy a few weeks ago and was that impressed that I now house my very own DVD copy.
Ice Age is a computer animated feature length film not too dissimilar from the likes of Toy Story, A Bug?s Life, Shrek and Monsters Inc.

The movie is set at the beginning of the ice age when all of the Earth?s animals are heading for warmer pastures, all except Manfred, a huge woolly mammoth who simply wants to be on his own.
He soon ends up running into a clumsy tree sloth named Sid who is pursued by two huge rhino?s with the intention of killing him for eating their salad. Manfred saves Sid?s life and is then relentlessly followed by the daft sloth wherever he goes.

"The things that caught my eye about the packaging where"
The peel back lid in the centre which is similar to that of McCain microwave chips and the lid can be resealed.The inviting picture of a Mars bar which looks sort of like it has been cut in half and only half of it is being shown, "revealing all the ingredients inside" including the ice cream and the delicious caramel centre. On the cover it tells you that in the box there are four individually wrapped bars. The part written on top of the picture of the mars ice cream says that its made of "Real Dairy Ice Cream". I also noticed how well designed the box is and that the lid is "very easy" to open. The recognizable mars design that anyone who has ever tried their products will be well acquainted with.The message which says " Real dairy ice cream " and deliciously soft...
