After Eight chocolate Ice Cream Cones!

Advantages: Chocolate, mint and ice cream
Disadvantages: The cone is a bit chewy

...This past week I just found an amazing dessert/snack treat that I just had to share with everyone so if you love chocolate and mint and ice cream then read on. According to various articles I have read, "Rich in British heritage, After Eight is known as England's finest mint." After Eight's now produce an ice cream cone with After Eight mint chocolate included. I found a pack of 6 ice cream cones for £2 in Sainsburys which I though was an absolute bargain as generally one ice cream cone from a van or a speciality shop costs £2 or more. Made by Nestlé, the original After Eight chocolates were mint-flavoured thins designed and advertised as an after-dinner mint, hence the product's name. Each cone is 100g. Now this is actually quite small but after eating one you did feel like you'd had a nice dessert without pigging out...

Yummy Mars Ice Cream

...PACKAGING "The things that caught my eye about the packaging where" The peel back lid in the centre which is similar to that of McCain microwave chips and the lid can be resealed.The inviting picture of a Mars bar which looks sort of like it has been cut in half and only half of it is being shown, "revealing all the ingredients inside" including the ice cream and the delicious caramel centre. On the cover it tells you that in the box there are four individually wrapped bars. The part written on top of the picture of the mars ice cream says that its made of "Real Dairy Ice Cream". I also noticed how well designed the box is and that the lid is "very easy" to open. I scream for Mars Ice cream

Advantages: Much nicer flavours and textures than the chocolate bar version

...Right now, there was nothing more satifying than tooking into one of my favourite chocolate bars, ice cream style on such a sticky hot day. Mars ice cream is, of course, supposedly the same as a Mars Bars (i.e. Chocolate, caramel and malty nougat) with the nougat ommited and replaced with ice cream instead. However, I think the tastes and textures are different (disregarding the ice cream). Okay, they come packaged in the standard black wrapping as is tradition of the Mars Bar. The fornt is really appealing. 'Mars' is written in that new floaty red writting and then 'ice cream' written underneath is the same front but a pale creamy colour. A diabetic ice cream that tastes brilliant!

Advantages: Tastes glorious, not too expensive
Disadvantages: None for me I love this

...I will start by saying that, although I am a diabetic, I rarely buy ?diabetic? products as I know from the research done by Diabetes UK that they are generally not worth the money. It is usually better to eat the ?ordinary? equivalent but in moderation. In fact if you eat some diabetic products such as chocolate the sweeteners used in them can have a quite severe laxative effect as I have discovered to my cost! It is much better to eat a generally low fat, low sugar diet with an occasional treat. I have, however, tried vanilla ice cream that has been specially made for diabetics on a couple of occasions and found it to be white, watery, tasteless stuff so when I saw Franks Diabetic Ice Cream in the freezer at Tesco?s I was in two minds whether to even bother trying it to be honest. I scream for ice cream!

Advantages: Tasty, fairly cheap, not to high in calories/fat
Disadvantages: Not very healthy
