Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

Now call me tight (no that wasn?t an invite), but I like bargains and freebies and am not ashamed to say so. My quest took me to enough sites to hire DVDs for about four months so far (with plenty to come too). ...Before I bought this DVD player Id never really owned a DVD player before. I had however had and still do have a ps2 on which I used to play my DVDs. I never really went and still don’t go on this so much so I was going to sell it and buy a DVD player. In the end I decided to just keep the ps2 and to get a cheaper DVD player than I was looking for in the first place. The main reason why I wanted a new DVD instead of the one in the ps2 was so I could play divx format DVDs on it. ...I have been a play customer since 2001 and am extremely satisfied. Generally speakiing they are the cheapest of the online CD/DVD stores. They also offer really good customer service, there is no issue if you order something and it doesn't get to you. They send another out free of charge with no questions asked. One time I had to order a game 3 times (think we must have had a dodgy post man as that's the only time it happened!!) but they sent it out no problems. You can also sell your stuff on the site now as well at a price you set so if it is bought then it's at a price you are happy with. Play offers a wide range of products now from CDs to clothing and gadgets to computers. This is always the first place I head to when going online for a spending spree!! They also have a sister site called playusa.com that sells region 1...

Advantages: Simple, easy to use, quick delivery, good customer service
Disadvantages: May not have all the titles you are after

...I was using one of those sites that offer you points or a few cents for trying out free offers (don't recall which one exactly, may have been 'IPoints'...) and it had Lovefilm's FREE two week trial. I signed up free for the minimal membership which allows you to keep one DVD at a time for as long as you want (with no late fees!) and although I had to give my credit card information, the agreement states that you will not be charged anything if you cancel within the two week period.. The membership ranges from £9 to £15 per month now; I do not recall how much it cost mid last year to be honest.. The other memberships get you 2 and 3 DVDs at a go. I added the films I was interested in to some sort of 'wishlist'. The idea is that they send you one DVD, you keep it for as long as you want, then they send you the next one on your list...

Each episode lasts about 43 minutes, with the show lasting an hour on TV (the extra time being taken up by ad breaks). Also something that somewhat annoyed me with the DVDs (though this might have been shown at the start of every episode on TV, I never watched it before I got the DVDs so I don't really know) is that every episode started with the same 'Previously on Supernatural...' line and it did a recap on what basically happened on the first episode, which gets annoying when your shown it again by episode 10! thats when I use the DVD remotes fast forward button...
