Filmed entirely from the air, The Island captures many breathtaking locations, including high sea cliffs, deep valleys and remote mountains that have never before been seen on television. We see how Water, Earth and Stone have shaped and formed the character of the landscape of The Island. This amazing journey allows the viewer to jump across the centuries and see how our marks and scratches have evolved into the Ireland of today. Accompanying these beautiful images is an original music score composed by Brian Byrne and performed by the RTE Concert Orchestra. It features 35 pieces of classical music, influenced by the breathtaking scenes from the series producing a stunning soundtrack. (2004)

Ireland in some places looks like the start of the creation of the world and in others like Switzerland. It is a country of contrasts. There are both rain and sun, huge black clouds, green fields and rivers coloured with peat. There have been great famines and misery and yet the Irish seem careless, fun loving and easy going. Visited places : Dublin, Monasterboice, Bru na Boine, Belfast, The Giants' Causeway Londonderry, Grianan, Glenveah, Donegal, Carrowmore, Killary Fjord, Kylemore, Burren, Bunratti, Dingle, Tralee, Kerry, Killarney, Adare, Cashel, Kilkenny?
Advantages: Stunning scenery, good craic, not touristy Disadvantages: Slightly inaccessible
...When you think of holidays in Ireland, what do you think of? The beautiful green farmlands of Tipperary, the dramatic peaks and lake-pools of the Ring of Kerry, angling in the River Shannon, or enjoying the craic in the vibrant capital city Dublin? All of these are undoubtedly staples of an Irish holiday, but if you?re looking for something a bit more different ? why not try County Donegal...
Advantages: Good acting from Di Caprio & Ben Kingsley, interesting, tense, atmospheric, dark, brooding Disadvantages: Unnecessary sidetracking, music intrusive, predictable ending, bitty in parts, silly surrealism

The reason why Teddy and his sidekick Chuck Aule visit Shutter Island is that one of the inmates who is very dangerous, has vanished and nobody can find her. It is impossible that she could have left the island and the asylum staff members are at a loss to understand where she could have gone.
As Teddy begins his...
Advantages: Pleasant to do business with, competitive ferry prices when booked as a package Disadvantages: Credit Card supplements
...I have to admit, trying to find a cottage for a week?s holiday in Northern Ireland was quite a challenge. My internet research uncovered loads of sites, and it was a question of too many to choose from. I wanted a well kept fairly contemporary decorated home somewhere close to Portrush/Bushmills area, and it did seem that there were plenty to choose from. One site that I hit a few time...
