Advantages: A magazine bursting with home information and ideas
Disadvantages: none

...The Ideal Home..something that I will never own ! But just looking through the jam- packed magazine makes up for all of that. Ideal World - Ideal for crafters!

Advantages: Great offers,some p+p free specials
Disadvantages: Normal postage rates, impulse to buy everything

...I'm not sure how I got started watching the home television shopping channels but I have been buying things from them for about 4 years now. I have bought from the bid up and price drop channels, QVC and just recently from Ideal World. Ideal World sells everything from craft goods, beauty products, garden tools, jewellery, clothes, shoes and many other great products for use around the home. They broadcast on free-view and paid for cable/satellite subscriptions. Each hour has a specific theme such as create and craft, pick of the day, gardening in style etc. Some of the presenters can be a little over the top and irritating at times, but 1 presenter is never on for more than an hour and they are usually joined by an expert in the field of whatever they are selling so you can ignore what they are saying and just focus...

My Ideal Foundation...

Advantages: SPF 10, stylish design, has lasted a while, not too greasy, practical (fits in bag) etc
Disadvantages: Has cracked down the side (although hardly visible), quite expensive

Almost Ideal!

Advantages: Great location, cheap
Disadvantages: No air-con, noise from traffic and cleaners

...It's a trade off which often crops up when arranging accommodation for city breaks - a central location costs more but in the end you may spend as much on transport as you think you've already saved. In June my partner and I spent a week in Naples. He was there for a few days for work, I would do my own thing for the first couple of days then we would have a couple more days to ourselves. We needed to be fairly close to the centre for the wok engagements but cost was our primary concern. Sadly Ciao could not help so we trawled through pages and pages of websites, eventually finding Hotel Ideal. True to its name it did sound like a very good option - close to the city's main bus and train stations, near to Naples' main shopping area and only a short walk away from the sea; the price was reasonable and it did have a double room...

Not such an Ideal World

Advantages: Easy home shopping , some good prices
Disadvantages: Expensive premium rate phone charges , some goods poor quality

...Ideal World feels like the poor relation in terms of shopping channels . I have not seen many others only having access via Freeview but have found that Ideal World has a bit of a 'cheap' shop feel about it . It is located on Freeview channel 22 and can be viewed on-line also . The presenters are a bit of a smarmy bunch . They do not have any charming , natural appeal but rather seem forced and contrived . The channel sells a wide range of goods from clothes to computers to curtains to jewellery and much more . Each presentation or show lasts an hour . Occasionally there are two one hour shows for the same product in each successive show . I have only orderd a couple of times and the goods have arrived promptly and in good condition . One of the problems with Ideal World is that when you order by telephone the call charges...

Advantages: Funny, unpredictable and great drama

...I saw a production of this about a year ago and it started me reading the rest of Wildes plays. Wilde is a funny and perceptive writer and his work draws on his experience of victorian manners. An Ideal Husband is a play about love and politics. If this sounds boring then bare with me as it really isn't as predictable as it all sounds. The main characters are victorian gentry/middle class. Wish my house was an Ideal Home!

Advantages: Plenty of ideas and examples for all budgets
Disadvantages: Slightly pricier than some other glossy house magazines

Each reader's feature is around 7 pages long and includes how to achieve that paticular style, with examples of products, prices and stores. There's a hot property page, displaying properties for a particular price. They include a variety of homes, which should appeal to all ages young and old, with plenty of budgeting ideas. There are adverts - on average 1 page of adverts to 4 pages of articles. This magazine seems to provide more budget as well as pricier ideas than others, which if you're like me, eternally grateful to even save a penny!
