...I borrowed 'If only' from a friend. Although not a great fan of the Spice Girls I was always curious as to the exit of Geri Halliwell. Reading the rumours in the press, reading 'If Only' gave me a chance to read her side without it costing me a penny. I started reading this book with a very open mind thinking that it would be another one sided biography which would basically rip her fellow group members to shreds, however, I was very surprised to find the book very enjoyable. Geri comes across not only as a lonely individual in a massive pop band but portrays her humanity all the way through to the reader without actually knowing it. ...I purchased If Only during Christmas 1999. I was always interested Geri from when she was in the Spice Girls. But when she quit the group i knew that there was something beneath her ginger image and loud mouth. I decided to buy her autobiography (a) to learn about her and (b) for an interesting read. The end result was much more. Obviously her autobiography talks us through her life from being small to just after she had left the group. I thought the book was a very interesting read, and obviously did contain detail that i had no idea about. However, the book was laid out in a way of which unimportant issues were being dragged on about. But, for all i know, isnt that what an autobiography is all about? I've read the book once as i found it was far to long to read twice over. I found my eyes flicking through a few chapters at times, but...

Advantages: Happy, healthy and rich
Disadvantages: Could be dead

...28 years, 5 months and 24 days into the future to be precise. You see, I aim to retire at the age of 60, in good health and with lots of money. The only way I can see this happening is to travel to the year 2031, look at my life (hopefully I am still there), come back to today and change what I need too. If I am not there, find out why and change that too. Now, I am getting alittle confused already (does not take alot), and by the end of this may wish I had never started. Second chance

Advantages: Quite entertaining, quirky
Disadvantages: Little chemistry between the characters, ultimately not that interesting

...of the lack of chemistry between the characters, I wasn't all that bothered about finding out what was going to happen. It wasn't dreadful, it just wasn't all that exciting either and I don't think that it was just because this is a genre that I'm generally not too fond of. In general, then, this is an average film that is probably worth watching if it is shown on television again, but I don't think it is worth purchasing the DVD. I'd watch it again if I had nothing better to do, but there are so many much better films out there that I can do little more than recommend it if you want a girly night in and want something that doesn't take a great deal of concentration. Advantages: A different perspective from most wrestling biographies
Disadvantages: She's quite angry and bitter

...I love reading Biographies so when I saw Geri Halliwell's "If Only" on Ebay I decided to buy it. It cost me 80p. We were introduced to Geri and her family background. I for one had never known her background apart from that she suffered eating disorders and she was friends with George Michael. It was interesting to read about the child and what her family life was like before stardom. She also takes us through her starting with the Spice Girls to her leaving and then deciding to do something to do with Cancer Care The book is dedicated to her dad and she talks in depth throughout the book of her family. It's not until she is a lot older she realises how much her family mean to her. She talks often about school and how in Primary School she was bunged in with the odd balls, the ones who stood out because of their school uniforms...
