Majorca the Magnificent
Advantages: Short flight, English widely spoken, beautiful beaches, great nightlife, I could go on forever

...I have been to Majorca twice in the last three years. On the first occasion, I went with my husband and our two children who were 4 and 2 at the time. We chose Majorca because of the relatively short flight time of two hours. We stayed in Alcudia at the Marte Hotel which is in an all inclusive complex which also includes the hotels Jupiter and Saturno. We went in the second and third weeks of May. The first week was very unsettled, rainy and windy, but the second week was beautiful and the temperature got warmer by the day. The resort of Alcudia is very busy but geared more for families rather than singles. The beach is sandy and very clean.
We hired a car locally for a week and I think this was probably one of the best decisions we made. Car hire is very cheap. We paid about the same amount for a whole week's car hire as...

2 hours from Cardiff to Palma, with first choice passed by quickly thank-goodness not a flyer!

On arrival check-in was efficient and staff polite but a little stern looking.
The hotel is outside Alcudia in Playa De Muro but the buses are regular and cheap to the strip. The hotel as a courtesy bus to the beach, which is lovely, shallow and white sand and ample sun beds and umbrellas.

Turn 10 studio's latest racer tries to be a lot of things for a lot of different people and the gr8 news is, is that it succeeds just about every time! Forza Motorsport 3 is a bigger, better than its previous version Forza Motorsport 2 in very way imaginable although its not flawless its way ahead of its competition.
It doesn't matter how good you are behind the wheel you can find a handling level a difficulty level to suit you, the default settings and the number of driving assists, anti-lock breaks, traction control, stability control, and full driving live to show you were you should be on the track all of the time. Your meant to turn these off as gradually get better threw the game...

...I've been going to Alcudia for 5 years now. I always go for 29th june which is the Festival of St. Peter the patron saint of fishermen. This starts with a 3 week build up of events for the locals, mainly for children. It culminates on 29th june with a parade and marching band from Alcudia old town to the small church in Alcudia port area. The whole length of the road from Alcudia old town to the port is covered in what looks like olive leaves behind the parade. Miraculously these leaves are all cleared away by the next morning. At 7-30 pm all the boats in the harbour sail out a small distance to the sea where they are all blessed by a priest and at midnight there is the best pyrotechnics display you will ever see. Then the locals all start to celebrate. Alcudia itself is spread over 3 main areas. The old town, the port area and Belle...

1.The Hotel - Majorca Beach Hotel
Plain from outside, but rooms were of a good standard. We were self-catering, so didn't experience the food but we were told my other holiday makers it was good. The hotel was in a good location, near enough to the strip that you could stumble home, but far enough away so that you could get some sleep! Right next to the beach too!
There were two pools, an adults and kids pool. Very cold and lovely in the sun but boring and square and quite deep. The hotel 'apparently' made sure no one reserved sun loungers near the pool, but every morning nearly all the sun loungers were taken, so best bet was to get up early and stick a towel on a couple.

Sony Dualshock 3
Advantages: nice weight, rumble effect, wireless

...When i first got my PlayStation3 i had to say i was disappointed with the somewhat lightweight and flimsy feeling Sixaxis Controller as it didn't quite have the sturdiness and comfort of the Dual Shock 2 for the Sony PlayStation 2.
So it's not hard to guess just how pleased i was that Sony had overcome a patent disagreement and managed to release a Dual Shock 3 controller. It has the right amount of weight in it and it doesn't affect the motion sensors in the controller either, it really does feel quite right between your hands.
The New trigger style L2 and R2 buttons remain the same as the Sixaxis but whether or not you like these buttons is just down to personal preference, i found them hard to use at first with my fingers slipping off of them but in due time i got used to it no bother. The Rumble is good too, it's not overly hard...

...I bought this controller on eBay for around £40. They are meant to be coming out early this year. I ordered a white version because everyone has the standard black controllers. Considering that the normal PS3 SIXAXIS Controllers are around £35 new, it is cheap for what you are getting. This controller will be available in both black and white.
There is only 1 big difference between the SIXAXIS and the Dualshock 3 controllers. This is that the Dualshock 3s have a vibration unit that gives the user feedback in some games. For example in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, when you go on the curb of the track, it rumbles until you get off it, just like driving on one in real life.
You would expect the controller's battery life to be greatly reduced because of all the extra rumbling. So far I have been using it for quite a while, and I have been...

Did we really need the luxury of having your sims walk arround the neighbourhood themselves?
In my opinion I think not. If I am honest with you, on the previous Sims games, when you orderd your sims to leave there home plot a blue loading screen would appear. Now this screen would annoy me so much and felt as though it was taking forever. After playing both the Sims 2 & the Sims 3 I would prefer the blue loading screen back. The game now i feel is to complicated.
Installing the game was very straight forward no problems at all, I knew i would have to make some space for it, 6.1GB of hard disk to be exact...
