Iiyama 24" monitor? What a great deal!

Iiyama - a name to trust

...Thanks in advance for reading this and I hope it helps you in making a purchasing decision. Over a decade ago I was a poor student shopping for my first ever PC. I knew what I wanted - a 486 processor running at 25MHz, 8Mb RAM, 200Mb harddrive and most importantly an Iiyama 14" monitor. Sadly the wages department of the hotel restaurant I worked through that long and tedious summer dictated a few small changes. The PC eventually became a 386 processor running at 40MHz, 4Mb RAM, 120Mb harddrive and no Iiyama monitor. Instead of the Iiyama I had some rebadged monitor with a huge curve and a low refresh rate. The Iiyama was the first thing to drop off the list as it saved the most money. My point? Even then Iiyama was synonymous with quality and of design and product. Very Good Monitor

...I have been using this 24? (23 I/2? measured diagonally) monitor for the last three weeks now, and I have to say, that I am more than satisfied with it. I bought it on the basis of being a well known brand name, styling, the type of inputs, 2ms, and overall valued for money. Compared to other monitors that I considered, this seems to be one of the best value for money at around £175. Out of the box I had it set up within half an hour or so. Image quality is excellent without making any initial adjustments, but there are lots of options to choose from should you feel the need to adjust the picture/screen ect. The 16:9 format screen as full hd resolution 1920x1080 so perfect for movie and game fans. Also it as standard, game, movie, scenery and text picture modes. I can?t say what the sound quality is like using the monitor speakers...

...I chose this particular make of monitor for two reasons. Firstly, I have a friend who chooses Iiyama for his web design business and he was singing their praises. They produce a stable and detailed image suitable for professional use so that was a good start. Secondly, I wanted a really large monitor for PC games and this one's a whopper. It's a 22". ...I knew from the outset that i would be one of those paranoid mum's constantly worrying about my baby & wondering if he was still breathing through the night, so I invested in the Angelcare monitor with movement sensor mat. The set includes a 'baby unit', 'parent unit' & movement sensor mat. The mat is placed under baby's mattress (if like mine, the base of the cot is slatted, or you're using it in such a moses basket, then you will need to place the mat on a firm surface such as a piece of plywood under the mattress), & is so sensitive that it can detect even the lightest of breathing. The mat connects to the baby unit which then transmits to the parent unit. If no movement (yes, even light breathing counts as movement) is detected for 20 seconds, an alarm sounds on both the baby & parent units, enabling time to get to your baby...

Doesn't live up to iiyamas reputation

Advantages: High refresh rates, it's not to bad for a 15" shadow mask monitor
Disadvantages: it's not a great 15" shadow mask monitor, 15" monitors aren't that great anyway.

...The MF-8515G doesn?t do the name iiyama justice. The monitor has poor power regulation, which means the picture resizes when the screen moves from large amounts of white to large amounts of black on the screen. The contrast is also quiet poor, though bear in mind I am writing this on the iiyama Vision Master pro 410 (Also known as the a702-ht for no apparent reason) which is the finest monitor known to man as far as I?m concerned, so anything else looks poor! In it?s favour it does have a good OSD by iiyama standards, though it?s still the area iiyama constantly loose out in, and it has good refresh rates for a 15? monitor. All the same, have a look around before buying this....

Advantages: Big screen, sharp colours, high refresh

...and increases all the way to 120Hz at 1024x768. This is excellent for a CRT monitor of this age. I too have never needed to use the onsite warranty. The screen settings are very easy to use and understand. The buttons are labled obviously and do waht they say they will. The manual is good however is highly Americanised (Iiyamas being designed in California). Overall this is a good monitor and will most probably last you for years without a noticable degradation in performance. The only reason I stopped using mine was that I got a TFT. Which is just plain lovly....

Iiyama still the Best!

Advantages: Razor Sharp Definition, Steady Picture, Flat Screen
Disadvantages: Controls can be a bit finicky

...Iiyama....this name has been around for many years as one of the leaders in screen technology, it is renowned for the very high quality of it's picture. Since I started in computers back in 1987 I have always tried to own a good monitor because you only have one set of eyes. I've had Taxan's, Sony's, Viewsonic's, and finally Iiyama's. The latest one being the Vision Master Pro 452, it's a 19" Aperture Grille Monitor, and is a member of the group that are call NF Naturally Flat, and yes the screen is flat, dead flat. Because of this the picture is extremely sharp and defined, this is due to the Mitsubishi Daimondtron Tube and Iiyama's excellent electronics. Small text sometimes can be a little difficult to read but this is a charactureistic of the Aperture Grille technology, but if it's graphics that you are after this is an absolutely...
