Impressive, Illustrious Imperial!!

Disadvantages: My stay was completely disadvantage free!

...Regular readers of my reviews will no doubt already know I am a huge fan of Blackpool and that I travel there on a regular basis. Now I am the first to admit that when I visit Blackpool it is more about the place itself than the accommodation and therefore I usually just opt for a very inexpensive B&B but I do on occasions like to treat myself to a luxury break in a hotel and have stayed in the Big Blue hotel that overlooks the Pleasure beach (already reviewed) and also in the Imperial Hotel which is what I am going to tell you a bit about here. I stayed in the Imperial in late 2004 so I do apologise if there have been changes that I fail to mention in this review but I am assured after talking to friends who I recommended the hotel to and are recently back from their stay that it is every bit as good now as I told them it was then...

MINT IMPERIAL!

Advantages: Friendly cosy and excellent location.
Disadvantages: Building work and only one small lift.

An Imperial Hand Wash??

I have since seen Imperial Leather Handwashes in Asda for just £1 so not too much of a bargain for me!! The bottle is transparent plastic so that you can see how much is left and when to replenish. It looks fine on the sink, no need to purchase a soap dispenser which I have used when I have opted for much cheaper products to pretend that I haven't! The packaging is simple and understated which is fine by me! ...I have just returned from a Thomson Gold Holiday staying at the Atlantica Imperial Resort Hotel in Kolymbia Rhodes. This hotel is described as a 5 star Deluxe! We arrived at 2am on a sunday morning and were greeted by smiling staff and a sparkling glass of champagne. Great start this hotel is going to be fantastic. A marble entrance with palm trees in the centre and a water fall. It looked wonderful. We were quickly shown to our rooms and our luggage was taken by a porter who did not hold his hand out for a tip. Imperial Leather or Imperial Lather?

...Imperial Leather is a brand name that can often be found in my Bathroom. It is a name that I have grown up with and over the years come to trust. I remember the bars of ivory coloured Imperial Leather soap that my mother used to buy occasionally as a treat and even now if I spot it on offer I sometimes still buy it for myself. Until my early teens I actually thought that this brand was called Imperial Lather, as opposed to Leather and presumed that this was something to do with the nice lather that the soap formed on the skin. When I discovered it was actually leather I was somewhat perplexed and still believe that Imperial Lather would be a much more suitable name. When I'm in the bath I love a gorgeous smell and lots of bubbles, and when I saw Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Bath on offer for £1 for a 500ml bottle a few months ago in Asda, I thought I'd give it a go. some classics stand the test of time..proof: imperial leather

Disadvantages: a bit boring

...imperial leather was my parents favourite soap and so i have literally grown up using this soap from the age of 2 onwards! The single bars come in cardboard red packaging and looks quite..well..imperial! They cost around 1.65 at boots for a packet of four in white packaing and the red logo and writing on top so theyr pretty economical. The soap itself has a very distinctive smell I can't really describe it but nothing too clinical or too over fragranced and can be used by the whole family including children and those with sensitive skin...did i mention this was our family soap at home! It was also a favourite of my granny's who would even use it wash her hair sometimes as ordinary shampoos irritated her scalp. ...In June 2006 we travelled to Torquay for the fourth time in 2 years, the main draw was the wonderful Imperial hotel just on the outskirts of Torquay. The hotel is something special, there are so many good points but one glaring bad point! Firstly the location is spectacular, with an unenvied look out over the Torbay area the sea facing rooms are well worth the supplement payable when booking. The premium rooms are large and well appointed. I would ask for one in the main hotel as some rooms have access only through the resaurant which can be a bit intimidating during feeding times when others are busy eating ther dinner! The facilities are 1st class however, with a lovely indoor pool complex with a sauna and spa as well as a well appointed exercise room (if you are into that sort of thing).
