...This is my personal exerience of this product so beware. We have always had indesit washing machines in our family, the last one lasted over 20 years! Therefore, we decided to buy indesit again. BAD MISTAKE. THIS WACHINE MACHINE WENT WRONG IN A MATTER OF MONTHS. The engineer came out and replaced the main circuit board and chip and it worked - until the same fault developed again a month later. Again another new board and chip and a new motor as well! Just after the guarantee expired, guess what, It went wrong again with the same problem. By this point we were so fed up, we told Indesit where to go. Even the engineer from Hotpoint Indesit said he doesn't buy there products because they are so unreliable. I wish I had checked the Which magazine first. ...I have owned the Indesit WIE167 for just over 18 months. I had the electronic board replaced after just 3 months as the programmes were not working. However since then it has worked perfectly and I would still recommend this, I just felt as with most things there are going to be the odd 'faulty' one. The cycles are quick - an average 30 degree wash with 1600 spin takes 75 minutes and you can change the temperature and spin on most of the settings. You can also time the machine to start when you like. There are also sports options - so you can wash you trainers and delicates safely. On noise levels it is fairly average - especially with it having a 1600rpm spin. I love the bleach option - perfect for those stained whites - just add the special bleach tray, add a small amount of bleach and by the end of the wash the stains are gone plus... Read review

Even more helpfully, none of these error codes are documented anywhere official; the only place I have found any mention of (or any help for) was on a forum at www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk. Once these messages start appearing on a regular basis (as the aforementioned forum suggests they do in a large number of cases) usage of the machine becomes far less easy. ...After 18 months my WD12X Indesit washing machine gave up the ghost, a repairman came, took one look at it, and said, it's an Indesit, they're always going wrong, it's not worth repairing. Searching on the web rapidly confirmed that indeed Indesit washing machines are always going wrong. To add insult to injury, my Indesit cooker (also 18 months old) went wrong the same week, which cost £60 to repair, and my Indesit diswasher is giving me cause for concern too. Indesit offered the usual fob off excuses you would expect, and in short showed no concern for the fact their machines break down so shortly after the guarantee expires. My advice, avoid Indesit like the bubonic plague, their machines are a waste of money.... Read review

...Having had my previous indesit washing machine for 15 years with very few repairs I decided to look for a new one. After comparing all the indesit machines available we decided to buy the WIE147 in November. Features that I especially like on this machine are that it tells you exactly how long the wash has got left to run, no more hanging around thinking the wash is nearly done and standing there for ages you know to the minute when it will finish!!!!!! I also like that both the temperature and spin speeds are variable which means you can tailor your wash exactly how you like it rather than relying on the presets. You can also save your favourite wash cycle into the machines memory rather than having to reprogram the machine each time (if you vary the presets). ...The indesit wd10. We have owned this machine now for six years. buying it in 2001 for just short of 300. This machine has never let us down once, in this time. for the price paid this has represented outstanding value for money. however the drying capability of this machine is very limited although in fairness indesit do not try and hide the drying capacity. the clothes and the machine just seem to get very hot without efficiently drying. and if you try to dry the full wash load needless to say you will get a shock when your electricity bill arrives. the wash quality is great there is as is the norm a daily / quick wash function right through to the boil wash. have since bought a seperate dryer to compliment this but would have no hesitation in buying another indesit washing machine. ...I bought an Indesit DG 6100 W in Jan 2000 as our previous 10 year old Indesit dishwasher finally gave up the ghost, it had been very reliable and assumed that Indesit would have used their experience to produce another reliable model........I thought wrong. It didn't wash as thoroughly as the old model, it took longer to run the full cycle and was far noisier than the older one was the day before it died. the design and appearance was pleasing and it slotted in to the exisitng space without too much modification. It developed fillng problems first, stopping to fill when there was barely enough water in it. Not filling at all and finally after a mammoth meal with friends it filled emptied filled again and then the motor blew in in November 2000 barely 10 months use about three times a week. ...Since we purchased this product in September 2006 the Fridge compartment has failed 3 times! Engineers have to tried to repair it on each occasion, but about 6 months later (or less) it failed with the same problem. There appears to be a design fault with this model of fridge/freezer. Indesit won't admit it to me, but I have found reviews all over the net, describing exactly the same symptoms. When it fails you hear a loud whining sound. I was told by the visiting engineer, that the Fridge compartment gets it's cold air from the Freezer compartment and the whining sound is caused by a fan which gets iced up and starts to complain as it labours. As a result, cold air is not being directed in to the Fridge compartment. Indesit/Hotpoint have a new policy (late 2007) that you have to pay an engineer callout fee of about £100... Read review

...I bought an Indesit washing machine over 8 years ago. I thought it was an excellent product. I used it 2 sometimes 3 times a day almost every day and never ever had any problems with it at all. It had a very good spin speed on it, which spun the clothes to almost dry. Unfortunately, about 6 weeks ago it just died on me. AAArrgggh! The engineer was called and came out very promptly, but to get it fixed was going to cost too much. So off I go in search of a new washing machine. I arrived at my local electrical store and low and behold there was an Indesit washing machine, on the Managers special offer! I paid £185 for my new Indesit, which I think is a very good price. The Indesit WG1432 has 16 programs, it has a half load button if you only have a few items to wash. You can reduce the spin speed from 1400rpm to just 600rpm. This spin... Read review
