My recent purchase of Indesit WIDL126 Washer/dryer

Advantages: Delayed timer, varied dryer options ....many more
Disadvantages: Makes a strange ticking noise from time to time

...I recently became a homeowner so I have had to spend lots of money on furnishing my house. As I am a first time buyer I had to start from scratch. My kitchen is a good size which is possibly the reason why we bought the house, although saying this we didnt want to buy both a washing machine AND a dryer. For this reason we decided to go for the washer/dryer combination. Before we bought the appliance I heard many contrasting things about buying a washer/dryer. Some people said that they are worth the buy as it takes up less space in the house and works out cheaper as you are not buying two appliances. On the other hand I heard peope say that washer/dryer combinations can be more tempermental and if one of the options (washer or dryer) breaks down then you lose both of them.   Try not to WIDL yourself.

Advantages: Clean clothes
Disadvantages: Buttons everywhere, no digital display

...about washing machines while cleaning the floor all at the same time. Needless to say it got me out of doing my own washing till I was about 17. Then I moved out. Bugger. Now I'm a lot kinder to the machines, mainly due to the fact I have to pay if I Eff it up. The wittily named Indesit Widl 126 s (get it? No, me neither) other than sounding like a manoeuvre used in potty training, is apparently quite cheap coming in at around £250- £300. Having never bought one, I wouldn't know. My landlord threw this one at me after the ancient device he had lumbered us with previously packed in. After I kicked it a few times. Oops. Indesit WIDL 126 S washer/dryer

Advantages: Cheap, looks good, combined washer/dryer
Disadvantages: VERY noisy when spinning

...This is the second machine I have bought, the other we left in our old house for our tenants. We bought it because A: we wanted a silver machine B: we wanted a washer dryer and C: it was cheap. The machine looks good and is very functional. It has special sports/shoe washes etc but I have never used them. There is a short everyday wash but I use the standard cotton wash at 40 degrees which takes about an hour. The dryer takes a long time but I have nothing to compare it too but it does the job when necessary. Now the big downside is that when is spins is sounds like it is about to take off and is very noisy so not ideal if you have guests or are trying to watch tv unless you have a utility room miles away. For the price I think it is a great product and so far so good....

Good, Cheap Washer/Dryer for General Use

Advantages: Good Value, Modern Looks, Plenty of washing and drying options, Delay Function, Efficient
Disadvantages: A little noisy on spin and dry functions

...I've read a number of reviews on Indesit washer/dryers recently that have described reliability problems as a major downfall. However, I must say I've never experienced any problems at all. Our last washer/dryer was Indesit and lasted around 5 1/2 years before the drum decided it wouldn't turn anymore. That's not a bad lifespan really. Having just bought a new WIDL126S model, in Silver, we're only a couple of weeks in but again, no problems. Perhaps some people have just been unlucky (or maybe I've been lucky?). I guess those who experience problems are more likely to write reviews? Anyway, the main reason for purchasing was the good, modern looks of this appliance to fit in with our kitchen scheme, the standard sizing (it's not too deep and doesn't stick out inches from the worktop like some), and it's great value...

Advantages: Its quiet. Easy to use. Versatile.
Disadvantages: Takes a bit of getting used to functions. Door gets hot when drying.

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...Very good machine, have had it for three months now and has worked perfectly. Bought after a hand me down machine broke a month after we moved into our first house. Plumped for the washer/dryer as we don't have room for 2 machines and it was swiftly delivered by Comet. Connected up easily (all machines only have a cold feed now if you haven't bought one in a while) and followed the instructions to get it going. Instructions are very clear and it has all the functionality I think anyone could ever need. The only bad point i've found is that the start button is very close and very similar to the power button, so on a couple of occassions we've started the program again instead of turning the machine off. All in all, it washes and dries so does exactly as it says on the tin....

...I've owned this machine for 9 months now and I am sure the engineer is like an old friend to us now. I'd previously owned an Indesit machine, the one down from this model, without the dryer. I was very happy and had never had a problem with it and so for me, to go for a upgraded model was an easy choice, especially as it was cheaper than a lot of the other washer dryers on the market. It offers users several wash cycles, easy iron, less spin and extra rinse setting for washing and for drying it offers you a choice of minutes (40-150) to dry your items or use the pre-programed setting which are; dry enough to iron, dry enough to put in a drawer and dry enough to put away immediately. Wash cycles include a 'daily' setting, which is a 30 minute wash, a 1 hour flash clean setting plus the normal 30, 40 and 60 degree colour washes. It...

Advantages: Loads more functions than my previous machine, very reasonably priced.
Disadvantages: Loads more functions than my previous machine - I'm confused, only comes in white.

...HOW MUCH? Well, I confess I only paid £19.95 delivery for mine as the nice people at Domestic & General bought it as a replacement for my old Servis M9090 machine (may he rest in washer heaven). However, I think this model is about £300 in Comet at the moment. WHAT DOES THAT GET YOU? A fairly standard looking, 1000 rpm spin speed, washer dryer. With a couple of neat little features: Its cold water fill only, some folk will tell you this is more economical, others disagree. However, I like it because it meant that I only had one filling hose to connect (and there's only one to leak!) and also because it doesn't take me any longer to fill my bath when I've got the washer on - a man of simple pleasures me! ...Good value washer/dryer, matt silver finish does not look cheap, easy to operate washing functions which can be personalised. The washing functions are marked on the detergent drawer front so very easy to follow. I did not need to read the entire instruction manual to figure out how to start a wash load!. Has a number of wash functions which I will probably never use, but not at the expense of other more functional programmes. There is an adjustable temperature dial so you can reduce the temperature of your wash or drying down to 30 degrees. The delay timer lets you set the machine to take advantage of cheaper electricity.Connection was really easy as it just has a cold water feed so we were able to connect it ourselves really easily. Seems to have a large load capacity, washes and spins clothes really well, noise level is also good...
