Advantages: Small, easy to move around the room.
Disadvantages: High price for low build quality.

Images of trying to hold the aerial perfectly still with one hand, the remote in the other and tuning the freeview receiver all at the same time inevitably spring to mind. Living roughly twenty miles away from the transmitter, the unamplified aerial resurrected from the back of a cupboard gave me extremely grainy picture on terrestrial and only 1 multiplex of channels on digital. For those of you who don?t know, digital TV is broadcast in blocks of channels, called multiplexes. You either get all of the channels in a particular block, or none at all. It was therefore with some trepidation that I went to John Lewis and was once again bombarded with a selection of indoor aerials, all promising to give me the strongest, cleanest digital TV signal I?d ever seen. ...If 3 years ago you told me I would be happy to jump on a bus, travel into Birmingham in order to by some meat I would have laughed in your face. Anybody who lives in or near Birmingham will know of the massive developements taking place in the Bull Ring in order to renovate the city centre and areas of Digbeth. The first part of the regeneration was the opening of the new indoor markets. They sell absolutely everything, clothes, stationary, mobile phones, sweets, and of course food. There is a very cheap multi story car park above the markets (50 pence per hour)which is normally enough time to get your provisions in, although most bus routes now stop near the markets. Meat and Fish are available from around 30-40 independant market traders and is all at least half the price of Sainsburys and around 4 days fresher...

indoor skiing/snowboarding in the best place going

Advantages: sort of real snow and two excellent slopes
Disadvantages: none, well cold....

...This indoor ski/snowboard slope is located just to the West of Dortmund and the North of Essen. Dortmund has an airport and Bottrop is very easy to reach via train or car, Bottrop is also quite close to the border of the Netherlands so if you are on holiday there I recommend popping over for a day. Once you get into Bottrop the Alpincentre is very well signposted. Now this is one of the best indoor ski/snowboard slopes with real snow that I have been told about in the North of Germany and the staff do speak English if you get stuck or need help of any sort. As you pull into the car park you can go either right for the top car park (which is nearly allways full) or left to the lower level car park. If you use the lower car park then here are some directions to get you into the main enterance hall. As you face the main building there...

...375g for 95p! Looks good at first glance. I stood there in the grocery store aisle as my other half did his loser calculations. According to him our normal bag of cat food lasts us 2 weeks and it would take 3 boxes of the Go Cat stuff to last that long. But even so the price was still going to work out less so I over-ruled him and bought a box to see how the cats did with it. By the way there are other pack sizes, 950g and 2kg but our local doesn't seem to have them in stock and I'm way too busy (lazy) to go to another shop. Purina Go Cat for Indoor Cats is of course geared towards cats that don't go outside. It contains natural fibres to help digestion and also help reduce hairballs that usually happen from excessive grooming. This food contains chicory which is what helps the cats digestion and apparently reduces litter box odours...
