Shuttle PN31 Infrared Remote Control

...I bought the Shuttle PN31 Infrared Remote for my Dell Dimension 8400 PC running Microsoft XP Home Edition two months ago and love it!! The remote requires no driver CD or software - simply plug the black infrared receiver into a USB port and your PC recognises it straight away as a "human interface device", just as it does a mouse or keyboard. It has a built in mouse which is really easy to use. There are a number of "hot keys" - these are shortcut buttons which allow you to open windows media player, your web browser, start menu, email, favorites, my computer, it even allows you to turn off your computer at the press of a button!!!! Wii Remote Controller

...I purchased the Nintendo Wii after weeks of searching the internet for a shop that hadnt sold out and once i found one available i bought it immediately. The package came with Wii sports and a remote controller and i have to say that i was quite impressed. The controllers work well with the console and in particular with wii sports. The biggest issue that i have with the remote is the battery issue. Whilst the batteries do last a long time when installed, to keep replacing them costs a fortune. I also have had this problem with my xbox 360 wireless controllers and would recommend anybody who was buying the controllers to also consider a quick charge kit to accompany it. The unit is very responsive and works very well, this depends on where you put the sensor that is supplied with the wii so make sure that you read the manual carefully...

The best universal remote control that I've tried

...I have a complex AV system that has separate audio and video signal paths. This makes switching sources a nightmare that involves multiple remote controls and a lot of concentration. I have tried many programmable remotes over the years (three in the last 2 years) and this Logitech Harmony product stands head and shoulders above the rest. The set up requires a PC or MAC. I found the software excellent. Initially the software asks for the make and model numbers of the devices you want to operate. Logitech have a huge library of devices (they claim 175,000+). If your device is not there it has the ability to learn from the original R/C. Then you can set up activities listing the devices involved and the initial setting for each. Great remote at a low price

...This is an absolutely great remote given it's cost. I used to have an One for All Kameleon which cost a lot more money than this. Setup was very very easy using the Software given and within 30 minutes I had a remote control which did exactly what I wanted. I use this to control my TV, Amplifier, BluRay DVD, Xbox 360 and Virgin Media Box. Every function of each device is catered for on the remote and the ability for the remote to transmit to more than 1 device at a time without having to switch any settings on it is fantastic. There are a couple of downsides to this remote. The first is the screen is very small in comparison to some others and scrolling through the pages to get to some of the more unique features of a device can be a pain, but overall this is great and well worth the investment...

Priced at £19 the apple remote, when in use with the apple universal dock, lets you control your ipod, by giving you the option to play/pause, fast forward, rewind, skip forward, and skip backwards. If you hold down the play/pause button on the remote it will switch your ipod off (just like on the ipod wheel itself). The remote works from a very long distance, and most directions, in fact the fact that the remote works from such a long distance away, and the most awquard angles impresses me quite a bit. I purchased my remote brand new off ebay for £8 plus £2.50 delievery which is quite a nice saving rather than buying it in the shops for £19.
