THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN THE HULL AREA?
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge, Hull by
RICHADA
Advantages: Clean and comfortable. Good Value For Money.
Disadvantages: Long Wet Walk From Check In to Lodge. View From Front Rooms
...WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPER'S LODGE - HULL?
In this instance it was a purely business decision. The previous night we had stayed in the Innkeeper's Lodge at Chester (North East), the Hull Lodge was ideally situated for my business appointment at Brough.
From previous experience we have found accommodation in Hull problematic, it is not a city exactly overflowing with a good choice of hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. We now use Innkeeper's Lodge's regularly in our travels and know that we can rely on the quality of the room and that the service offered is of a more than acceptable standard when compared to other lodge type hotels.
HOTEL DESCRIPTION / OUR PERCEPTION FROM HOTEL PUBLICITY
As with all of the Innkeeper's Lodges in which we have stayed, the Hull one is very well, and honestly, described, both in the new (2007) paper...

THE COST WAS A SURPRISE! HOW MUCH?
Review of Innkeepers Lodge Chester Northeast by
RICHADA
Advantages: Very Good Location. Warm Welcome. Fantastic Value For Money
Disadvantages: Bed Springs! En-suite Needs Re-furbishment.
...WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPERS LODGE CHESTER NORTHEAST?
Once, maybe twice a year, business takes me to the Chester area. Being a historic city of Roman origin, as well as a shopping Mecca for the North West of England at Christmas, hotels and bed and breakfasts, whilst plentiful in the area are not renowned for being inexpensive. Business does not draw me to the city centre anyway, the location of a hotel is not of great importance in my case, only that it is convenient for the motorway network of the area.
Adittionally, being something of a fan of the Innkeepers Lodge brand, having two located in the Chester region makes selection and booking an easy task at a time of the year when I simply do not have time to be performing internet searches for available hotel rooms.

THE BEST VALUE IN TOWN
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Stockport by
RICHADA
Advantages: Location. Excellent Value For Money. Good Quality Room and En-suite.
Disadvantages: Check-In at the Bar. Some May Not Like Pub Eating.
...WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPERS LODGE STOCKPORT?
It is that time of year when I get out and meet the customers, playing Santa-Claus with our company calendars. Stockport is probably the most productive individual town in our particular industry now, within fifteen minutes of this particular hotel I can (in turnover terms at least) visit around 30% of our customers.
For anyone conducting business in the area of south east Manchester or Stockport this Lodge makes a very good base.
HOTEL DESCRIPTION / OUR PERCEPTION FROM HOTEL PUBLICITY
The Innkeepers Lodge brand is rather less well known generally than the likes of Premier Travel Inn (who are much bigger), Ibis, Campanile or Days Inn. However, the website is very efficient, presents what appears to be an honest description of the property and clearly lists the facilities available...

Bedding down in Bournemouth
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Bournemouth by
DKtheDJ
Advantages: Clean, tidy and friendly
Disadvantages: Next to a main road so possibly a little noisy
...One day last summer my partner and I had decided to take a trip to our favourite attraction, Monkey World, but had decided to make a weekend of it. All we needed was somewhere to stay overnight that was within our price bracket.
Cue me searching the internet for bed and breakfasts in the vicinity and that was when I found Innkeeper's Lodge.
We decided that their Bournemouth lodge, despite being about half an hour's drive from Monkey World, was ideally situated and we booked for the night.
The lodge itself is positioned behind the Toby Cavery and Burger King on the Cooper Dean roundabout and finding it was easy - even without the satnav.
Check in is in the Toby Carvery (as most lodges are attached to a restaurant type pub) and is from 3pm onwards although they did let us check in early as the room was ready.
The service we ave...

PERFECT SETTING FOR THE COLNEY FOX
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge, St Albans by
RICHADA
Advantages: Location. Pub Ambiance. Parking. Breakfast.
Disadvantages: Dirty En-Suite. Old Bed. Tatty Room.
...WHY DID WE BOOK THE INNKEEPER'S LODGE St ALBANS? A.K.A THE COLNEY FOX VINTAGE INN
A slightly complicated set of factors this time - indeed this is the first hotel in which we have stayed south of Watford Gap in very many years. Living in Brighton and attending the Company Car in Action event at Millbrook, just south of Bedford, we usually set out from home at 5.30am in order to be there for gates open at 9.00am.
I owed myself a couple of days off work and, feeling a little under the weather, did not fancy a crack of dawn departure followed by the rush hour crawl around the M25.
Also, in an envelope, following our last, disastrous, Innkeeper's Lodge experience in Litchfield before Christmas, we had a complimentary "stay one night free" voucher.
Looking at the list of available Inkeeper's Lodges in the area, the choice...

Innkeepers Lodge Leeds
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Leeds by
yummy.mummy
Advantages: Fantastic Value and a good quality Hotel
Disadvantages: None to say
...A few months ago we stayed at Innkeepers Lodge in Leeds whilst visiting some of our friends. We stayed at the Leeds East Hotel and I do have to say we were very impressed and wanted to share our experiences.
We had stayed at an Innkeepers lodge hotel in Birmingham before and as we had enjoyed our stay so much we looked specifically to stay in this chain of hotels for this visit.
The Hotel was different to the one we had stayed in previously -last time we stayed in a hotel with a pub and a carvery below it. This hotel also has a carvery but no pub, but it was also conveniently located so that we could choose from a number of places nearby to eat out. and also to drink at. The hotel was also situated only a few miles from the centre of Leeds, so we could easily spend days out in Leeds without having to travel too far.
We stayed for three...

WHERE 7 IS FAR FROM A LUCKY NUMBER!
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge Lichfield, Stafford by
RICHADA
Advantages: Location. Ready made house of horrors set?
Disadvantages: Where do I start?
...As a preamble to this particular review, and I beg the indulgence of those who regularly read my hotel reviews, it should be mentioned here that this is actually the fourth review that I have published on various Innkeeper's Lodge properties. The three previous ones were all attached to Toby Carvery pubs, and have proven entirely satisfactory.
The best Innkeeper's Lodge that we ever stayed in, four years ago, was the Church Mouse located just outside Durham, this was a Vintage Inn and was the lodge that introduced us to - and sold us on - this particular lodge hotel brand.
This in itself I hope stands testament to the fact that I do not go "looking for trouble" in order to come home and write damning, or sensationalist, reviews unfairly.
Reading this review, I urge you, not to judge the whole "crop", i.e. the entire Innkeeper...

The Innkeeper's Lodge, Slough
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Slough/Windsor by
pmdunn
Advantages: Clean, comfortable, unfussy, economical
Disadvantages: Under the Heathrow flight path so can be a little noisy at times
...I have stayed at this particular lodge on several occasions on both business and pleasure trips (yes pleasure - I have friends and family in Slough)
Having stayed at places like the premier inns, and travel lodges, I have to say that the Innkeepers Lodge would be my preference.
My main reason for this is that the rooms at the Innkeepers Lodge are comfortably furnished and tastefully decorated whilst retaining a bright and airy atmosphere. I find that the rooms in the premier inns and travel lodges are too basic and lack character perhaps bordering on the clinical at times.
Considering that the Inkeepers Lodge is attached to and part of the Toby Carvery I think that the accommodation they offer is of a very high standard.
Booking in is usually quick and easy - I book online so I have a confirmation e-mail to take with me and payment...

Do try them!
Review of Innkeepers Lodge, Northampton by
meagainxyz
Advantages: Couldn't have hoped for more!
Disadvantages: Not enough locations yet!
...It had been a nightmare day! It was early evening and we were driving south down the M1 with nowhere to stay. So we went off at Junction 15 hoping for a Travel Lodge or something like that.
Anyway, we spotted the Innkeepers Lodge (Northampton S), and decided to see if there was a room. The staff were extremely friendly and there was a room. There was ample parking for cars, and the car park was well lit.
We had a super non-smoking room, quite big, and we thought better value for money than Travel Lodges, especially when we discovered the self-service buffet breakfast was included. The room also had a bit more individual character and so seemed more comfortable. Apparently they call themselves a ‘collection’ on the website, so rooms and furnishings vary, although the facilities are standard.
Complimentary tea & coffee helped us...

Innkeeper's Lodge Newcastle
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge, Newcastle-upon-Tyne by
laurypascu
Advantages: quiet location
Disadvantages: some staff are a bit pushy
...My husband and I stayed in this hotel after having problems catching the ferry to Amsterdam ( look out soon for my DFDS Seaways review) and so we needed a place to stay overnight until we could catch the ferry the next day.
In the Innkeeper's Lodge hotel booklet this particular hotel come under the name of Newcastle Airport but although it was in the direction of the airport it wasn't exactly nearby. The location is a few minutes off of the dual carriageway. We could actually see a medium-sized roundabout from our bedroom window but actually it is in more of a village location and the area was relatively quiet and we didn't get disturbed at all by traffic or pedestrians.
If anyone hasn't come across an Innkeeper's Lodge before then the best way to describe it is that it's in the English country pub type style. Thats the only way I...
