Keeping the Insects Away?!

Advantages: Good aftersun moisturiser.
Disadvantages: Not great at keeping insects away.

...This was one of many aftersun / moisturising lotions that were transported over to Italy before our arrival in mid August. Given that mosquitoes have always taken a liking to me and the fact that we were staying with my Dad up in the hills, approximately 20 mins from the sea, after one night of being mauled by different insects I thought it appropriate that I would give this a try. - Price and Packaging - This was originally £9.24 for a 400ml bottle but it was bought when Boots were having a 3 for 2 offer. Now that the holiday season for the majority is nearing its end, it is now half price at £4.62. CALLING ALL INSECTS

Advantages: Stops you burning, to a point
Disadvantages: Doesn't seem to repel insects. Could protect better

...Avon often has some good money saving offers on sun lotions and now I have a family, buying in bulk makes sense. A couple of years ago I decided to go for one of their buy three for a reduced price offers. One of the ranges included an insect repellent, so I thought I?d give it a try. I thought it would be particularly good for repelling those mosquitoes if I went abroad. I was a bit disappointed that it only came in Sun Protection Factors 15 and 30, as I knew my partner wouldn?t use anything that high and ideally I would have liked an in between SPF of about 20. So I compromised and went for SPF 15. As it happened, I didn?t get to use it abroad, but we had some sun here so it got its first try out on a hiking trip. My initial thoughts on it were good. One of the best insect repellents around

Advantages: strong enough, value for money, not that smelly
Disadvantages: Not strong enough for serious jungle work

...uncomfortable. 5. At £3.99 its very well priced and in fact one bottle would last for several applications a day for at least a couple of months. All in all i really cannot find a downside to this repellent and woulld reccommend it to anyone who wants to keep the insects at bay, but if you're doing some serious jungle trekking you may want to go for the dtronger deet in addition to this...

Giant peaches, bugs, insects, and imagination!

Advantages: Great storytelling and characterisation
Disadvantages: Some longer paragraphs that may bore kids at times

...There are nearly 100,000 known species of flies, including, horseflies, bluebottles, mosquitoes, midges, fruit fly, crane fly, green bottle, cluster fly, lesser house fly, beer fly, house fly, blowflies, the list goes on. Most flies feed on liquids, mainly nectar but others on blood and contaminate or spread disease by vomiting on our food after landing on waste rubbish and other nasty things like manure etc. Now I don?t wish to discuss in too much detail flies on there own, I would like to make an observation and then explore ways of ridding your house of unwanted buzzing. Flies and other flying insects such as Wasps, Bees, Dragonflies, Flying Ants, Crane flies all appear to be getting much, much bigger. This is obviously evolution and as a planet we are evolving, other species animals, humans etc are growing bigger...

Forgotten Insects

...immediately. Track three is the very intriguing 'Insects' and we feel that Clare really has turned into one by the way she uses her voice to enhance her lyrics. We are starting to hear the Altered Images we know and love come peeping through. The band aren't creating so much noise in this track. We can distinguish instruments. We can hear the begining riff more clearly. The band now feel that they are working together rather than competing against eachother in the previous track. Its also a better stab at the chart. We are surprised to learn that this wasn't realeased. It appeared on their first album 'Happy Birthday' released in September 1981. This was supposed to be their finest album, but that was debatable. This is basically a mosquito repellent- it doesn?t state that it repels other biting bugs and insects but hopefully the same products work at repelling them. Having realised that this would probably be the case, I stocked up on mosquito repellent lotions and potions and these were one of the products. WHAT ARE THEY? These wipes promise to repel mosqitoes midges and other biting insects for up to 6 hours. They have apparently been approved by the hospital for tropical Diseases for use in countries where there is no known risk of malaria or other insect transmitted diseases. They won?t protect against these diseases so for anyone travelling where there is a risk, the extra strength wipes should be used. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... ...Insect island is what we call Scarlett? lotty ladybird playmat, because when shes playing on there it seems like shes in the centre of a big island populated by insects. Of course an actual island or any space populated by slugs, ants and spiders isn?t sweet in fact its quite gross. However, it?s a name that has stuck in our household and to us it conjures up lovely images of our little baby playing on her playmat. PLAYMAT I?m sure that you can see from the picture that the playmat is a mixture of bright, primary colours and is extremely sweet.
