Dell inspiron 1525

Advantages: HDMI port, Speedy pc, reliable, good value for money
Disadvantages: Battery life, DVD drive burning speed, no firewire port

...only onboard graphics, i find that it can handle standard divx 640x480 or 720p content easily as it is output onto my tv. Burning DVDs isnt the fastest process, at 8x speedd for dvds i usually find myself leaving the laptop to burn the disc whilst i wait. Overall excellent video and music playback considering it only has onboard graphics although DVD burning could have been faster if a better dvd burner was encorporated. Overall the inspiron 1525 is a very good laptop for a home pc replacement/casual surfing or viewing videos/ business work and is totally worth the money i paid it is speedy, reliable and i would recommend this to students, families or businesses alike....

Advantages: fast, powerful and quite cheap
Disadvantages: battery Life

...This is one of three Dell laptops i currently own. This is the best. This laptop is very fast and powerful for what you pay, the intel 2-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor drives this laptop so fast. go for a large memory option when buying, svaes a lot of money in the future Sound can distort at higher levels, grapics are bright and colours are bright. Unlike earlier inspiron model the webcam is a good addition, Wifi seems to get a slightly better reception, not sure why WIFI card is the same in Both. Glossy 15.4 screen looks amazing, Dell have learned from the Inspiron 1501, go for a longer life battery still quite short with WIFI on. My best bit advice is pay for a mid range model, your get about the same spec off sony for about £800 more...

...I got this laptop late last year (though its not just mine!) and I think it is a lot better than my old laptop (Which was also an inspiron, but obviously an older one!). I haven't had any problems at all with it and it has improved so much! One of the best points for me is speed! The speed of the laptop loading time is great! I hate when your waiting for so long just for your laptop to boot up so I was happy with this laptop as sson as I used it! The screen quality is great, the colour and the fact that it's so big! The touchpad is great but sometimes you have to press it a few times for it to respond. The LED lights look really great and I love it that it's good quality and looks good. Dell Inspiron 1525 - Worth The Money.

Inspiring Inspiron from Dell

Advantages: Good spec, reasonable price, great processor

...I purchased the Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop back in January for my daughter's birthday. I had a limited budget but wanted to get her something with decent enough spec for playing computer games should she wish to do this, and a large hard drive as she is a big fan of making videos on her digital camera and downloading music - two things which can eat up hard drive space. I did a fair bit of research before purchasing and decided I wanted to get the best spec I possibly could for my money and the Inspiron ticked all the boxes. I paid £399 in January 2009 in Currys for the laptop which was the absolute limit on my budget. The Dell I purchased has a dark blue coloured lid, however the rest of it is a shiny piano black which looks lovely. I would have preferred metal for the mousepad area - it feels sturdier and doesn't seem to attract...

Dell Inspiron 1545 - good entry level laptop

Advantages: Cheap, good brand, lots of features,
Disadvantages: Probably not powerful enough for games, bottom of the market now

...The Dell Inspiron 1545 is an easy to use entry level laptop. Unlike two years ago when I bought my previous laptop, you can now get a number of Dell computers (of which this is one) direct from high street retailers. This is good if you want it in a rush and want a nearby place to handle any issues, but has the disadvantage that you can't customise your laptop to your own requirements to the same extent that you can if you buy it direct from Dell (which takes several weeks). Because Dell are so good at allowing customisation, you need to be very careful when you buy that you actually get the one you need - they are not all the same, so you can't just go into a shop and say "Give me your Inspiron 1545" - you need to be sure that it e.g. has a suitable processor, enough memory and a big enough hard drive for your needs.
