Swinton Car Insurance - Nice and Easy

All the staff I have dealt with in the local office, claims line and on the out of hours lines has been very pleasant and helpful. Renewing Like most insurance companies they attempt to auto renew your policy which means they sent you the renewal letter 6wks before and you forget to cancel and they simply renew it for you. I always check the price against a few others and so far I have been happy. When you renew you get your documents at the time of your renewal letter so make sure you keep hold of that. ...It's that time of year again - just after Christmas co-incides with when I bought my car (off my mum!) last year having just passed my driving test. Bit embarrassing leaving it so long, but money was tight and the busses were good to and from work ..... Anyway, went through Moneysupermarket.com to find a suitable insurer for my 2nd year on the road and came across Swinton. They were not the cheapest on the list for my circumstances, but they did offer everything I needed (plus legal cover as an option) and £50 cash-back after the policy has been in place for 90 days which made it cheaper than the other options anyway. ...replacement car insurance - if the windscreen couldn't be replaced before Wednesday I'd better claim on that. She gleefully informed me that I would have to fill in a claim form and there was a £250 excess! That is not clear from policy document!!! I phoned the RAC number she gave me which was the same switchboard as Autoglass!!!! Have arranged for the job to be done locally and am collecting the car in the a.m. Will certainly not be renewing with this co....

Insurance on the cheap!

Advantages: It's cheap.
Disadvantages: I'm not convinced the staff know what they are doing.

NOT the CHeapest - but CHeerful Motor Insurance

Advantages: 5% discount for online quotes, easy to apply, competitive premiums, helpful staff
Disadvantages: need to get letter for NCD proof, (not available in R.O.I or Northern Ireland)

...very helpful and understanding. I sent my NCD proof to them 3 weeks later after my previous Insurance company finally sent me a letter. Please note you have the right to cancel any Insurance policy within 14 days if you change your mind. Overall so far I can say Tesco’s joint venture with Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) is working out rather well and they seem to have sorted out both the cheap premiums and value for money that tesco are most well known for with efficient handling of customer calls. It's a shame I didn't have such an a pleasurable experince with Direct Line who are also part of RBS! So far I have had no problems with them over the last few months. The only disadvantage I can think of is the motor insurance policies are not available in Ireland or Northern Ireland, though that is the case with many insurance...

I clicked on car insurance and it firstly tells you what you can save on other insurance products if you are already a Churchill customer. I then clicked on, get quote and filled in my details. I also had my wife to add as an additional driver. The whole process took around five minutes. The only part i didn't like is your claim and convictions screen. You have 2 boxes for each and you enter any history you may have. Now with myself, I selected no convictions and no claims in the two boxes. But in order for me to continue to the next screen, i had to enter if i had any claims or convictions in the second box. Work that one out for yourselves. Disadvantages: They don't even bother reading emails + double your premium because of their incompetence.
