Intel Core 2 Duo E6750/ 2.66ghz
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66 GHz processor by
mazuk88
Advantages: Fast clock speed / Good amount of lvl2 cache
Disadvantages: Could balance out workload onto both cores a bit more
...This processor is a fairly mid-high spec for core 2 duo range it delivers some great performance for a good price.
This cpu can handle a lot of multi-tasking along with playing powerful games. Usually i can run a defragmentation and notice it hardly at all i can play games and play music with no problem it just makes desktop computing so easy.
As you may know this is an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 / 2.66ghz cpu, It has 2 cores on the one chip. it runs with 64-bit architecture which then opens up a whole new world of 64-bit operating systems for tommorows technolodgy...this along with the fact it has 4mb lvl2 cache makes superfast repsonse rates to programs and files i have also noticed that their are not so many "cache misses" to which i expected so this pleases me the most :D
The only downside is that i have noticed that core utilization...

Celeron Or PIII
Review of Intel Celeron 1 GHz processor by
Chronis
Advantages: Cheap,reliable
Disadvantages: not for graphics, or design application
...If you want to to build a low-cost but reliable system, the Intel Celeron chip is always the chip I consider using in comparison with all the other chip like AMD or etc . The celeron is fast enough to watch DVD from the computer write application have multiboot system. Play games etc. From the other hand if you using graphics packages or design programm don't go for celeron Dot think about the money buy a PIII which is more fast in this kind of application.
But ofcourse is much more expensive. I can also recomend overclocking the celeron which is safe, Intel know about they first use to overclocking the DX2 33 to 66Mz. But however the decision is yours....

Celeron 533mhz - not recomended
Review of Intel Celeron 1 GHz processor by
Neil2k
Advantages: Cheap processor
Disadvantages: Slow, small cache,
...I have mixed experiences with these processors, In comparison to AMD's chips, Im afraid Celeron processors do not compare.
My AMD K6-2/450 which worked without fault, was sold and replaced with a Celeron 533Mhz which at the time was of similar cost. Celeron processors were at the time rated quite highly however in comparison to AMD's 450, Graphical benchmarks, Gameplay, High Quality Video files, processor benchmarks all showed a great deal of a decrease in performance with the celeron.
The Celeron runs on a 66mhz bus speed which greatly reduces performance in comparison to processors running at 100mhz bus.
Celeron processors are known for thier ability to be overclocked which can greatly improve performance however this greatly dependant on which mainboard you choose.
Increasing the Memory from 64mb to 128mb made a noticable...

Sony laptop at quite affordable price
Review of Sony VAIO K315B - Celeron D 340 2.93 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
jatt_in_london
Advantages: Fully loaded for light user
Disadvantages: Heavy by weight
...A lower price laptop from top brand. It uses a celeron processor that is useful for a light user means for a user mainly use it for net surfing office work and playing and recording music movies.
Looks are excellent but its bit heavy but no problem if you are looking for an affordable machine.
The speed is moderate because it got a fast 2.93ghz processor with a lower bus speed any way its celeron.
Ram is quite high but memory speed is moderate 266mhz that makes it an average laptop.
No doubt keyboard feels comfortable and well designed. Apart from that machine is loaded with good features like firewire ports, usb 2.0 good for fast data tranfers using usb devices. Laptop is internet ready with eathernet and modem so you can straight way connect to broadband or dial up.
In conclusion i can say if you are looking for a machine that will do...

Celeron 600e = 9.0x Multiplier
Review of Intel Celeron 1 GHz processor by
wildandyc
Advantages: Very Overclockable
Disadvantages: Small cahce
...A 9.0x multiplier is about as far as you can go with a Celeron to acheive the much respected 100Mhz FSB and therefore acheive 900Mhz in the case of the Celeron 2 600e.
DO NOT BUY A CELERON 2 633, 667 OR 700 IF YOU WANT TO OVERCLOCK THEM 100MHZ FSB. Their multipliers are too high unless you are going to liquid cool them!!!
It has to be said that the 0.18 micron die etch has been a god send for overclocking but when the multiplier starts to get silly, atainable overclocking on a locked bus is crazy, hence my suggested max of a Celeron 600e if you're thinking of clocking your new Celeron....

Pay less for more
Review of Intel Celeron 1 GHz processor by
Wile-E
Advantages: Cheap, reasonable performance and highly overclockable
Disadvantages: intel roll out new ones so fast, the older ones are obsolete in a week!
...I've had the personal pleasure of working with 3 celerons (2 different models) since venturing into the world of PC's.
A slot 1 333mhz was my first encounter and the first processor I ever overclocked. When I decided the time was growing near for an upgrade, I decided to dabble in the mysterious world of overclocking before binning the 333. "333's just dont overclock, you're wasting your time!", that's what people told me. I popped mine onto an ABit BE6-II mobo and started playing with the settings, 475mhz and stable with only a single additional fan added to keep it cool - I was grinning like a freak! The processor is now in my second machine and although well past retirement age, is still performing well.
Next up I bought the Celeron II 633mhz fc-pga. It had cost me a pretty penny at the time so I'd made my mind up...

The best chip for money!
Review of Intel Celeron 1 GHz processor by
BejayAlford
Advantages: cheap
Disadvantages: slightly slower
...this is great value for money. The normal intels cost a lot more and are not worth the extra cash. These are reliable, fast and cheap. I've had no problems with crashes....I had a normal intel before and paid way too much for it. I was always frightened of celerons because originally they were the failed chips, but now have been turned into the fastest selling chip and great value for money. They are slightly slower than the real intels but for a bit more you can get a higher MHZ processor that will outperform the equivilent MHz pentium. Go out and buy one, you will not regret it and will have many error free hours playing the latest games or programs with ease....

Introducing core 2 duo at the lowest price
Review of Intel Pentium Dual Core E2160 / 1.8 GHz processor by
neo1983
Advantages: Greatest value and performance at the lowest price, highly overclockable
Disadvantages: Only 1MB L2 shared cache, performance hit in games
...▀ ▀ ▀ The low end processor market. ▀ ▀ ▀
The low end processors market is not as greatly disputed such as mainstream and high end processor market and also if you noticed few reviews are written about them, few publicity is made and also the performance is lower but this doest mean that low end processor market it isn't important. A great battle is done here especially at prices and in the latest years also for performance and this is great for consumers.
In the past both Intel and AMD tried to dominate this market and so Intel was the first who launched a low cost processor called Celeron, architecturally different compared to a Pentium to ensure a small cost to produce but also with a significant lower performance (quite low performance especially at first models without L2 cache...

AMD turion tl-58:- a great prcessor all round
Review of AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-58 processor ( mobile ) by
DC-DanielColeflax
Advantages: speed, perormance, no dodgy intel media graphics
Disadvantages: none really
...I have a nice little Acer Aspire 5520G laptop with this processor, that I bought last December from Tesco Direct. One of my major worries when I bought the laptop was that it had an AMD processor as apposed to an intel processor. In the past I have used intel Pentium D, Intel Pentium Dual Core, Intel Celeron M, Intel Celeron D, Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Pentium 3 and well you get the idea, lots and lots of Intel processors. Having never used AMD before I sought advice from an IT expert at college and asked whether there were any major differences or problems with AMD. He told me that although AMD had had some bad press in the past they had been getting better and that he had a computer that used an AMD Duron that was fine. After this I opted to buy the computer regardless of the AMD processor, and I am very glad I did.
SPEED...
