...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Pop a Cork! - Cork International Airport Hotel

Advantages: Unique, Extremely Comfortable, Location, New build, Service
Disadvantages: Maybe a little pricey

...OVERVIEW If you are considering a trip to Ireland, one of the most popular areas to visit is around Cork. Although I've been to Ireland almost annually since a child, I'd never visited Cork until this year. The area differs enormously from the West Coast, in that there are more rolling hills, arable farming and very reminiscent of Cornwall or Devon. On my travels I always like to stay in nice hotels, well at least the best that I can afford, and that usually entails trawling through the various travel booking engines to see which is offering the best deal. I tend to find that the airport hotels are usually slightly cheaper than those in the centre of town, and for me there is the added bonus that I can do a bit of plane spotting and photography as well!! A hotel in downtown Calgary.

Advantages: Suite hotel in downtown Calgary with great food
Disadvantages: Some traffic noise

...Our travel agent reserved a suite for us at the International Hotel in Downtown Calgary for the first night of our Canadian holiday. Opened in 1970 with 248 suites, it was only 6km from the airport and reached in about 15 minutes by taxi, but the estimated time on the airport shuttle bus was 1 hour as it stops at several hotels en route. Calgary has a structure of avenues and streets in grid formation and the hotel is on 4th Avenue Southwest, close to Chinatown and two blocks away from the Light railway for getting around the city. Reception, was bright and comfortable settees and chairs were around the long narrow area. Check in was quick and easy and a credit card was needed for incidental expenses, in no time we were directed to one of the lifts and would have been zooming our way to the 7th floor and our suite if we had realised...

...the details - it had already gone too. Getting desperate now I opened multi-map and asked it for all the hotels in the area. After a bit of googling I tracked down the website of the Potters International Hotel. It looked quite modern and was pretty close to where I need to be; so I gave them a call. There isn't a booking facility on the site and after a short time on hold I was offered a room at £99 including breakfast. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay - I could have stayed in London for less; but to be honest I couldn't be arsed looking any further so booked it over the telephone. Review of Potters International Hotel

Lazy days at the Olvie Press Hotel, Lesvos.

Advantages: No mosquitoes on Lesvos, just very nice people at The Olive Press Hotel.
Disadvantages: About a 2 hour transfer fron airport to resort, but a great journey.

...We have just got back from the Island of Lesvos, where we have spent the last two weeks bathed in sunshine, staying at The Olive Press Hotel in Molyvos, which is the north of the island. The great thing about the island is that there are no mosquitoes?????.. The Olive Press Hotel, is set right on the edge of the sea, in fact the sea laps against one side of the hotel at night, which four elderly visitors had to complain about if only to us. When we booked the resort and the hotel we where asked if we wanted a sea vies, a balcony or no preference, and we decided on the no preference. On a return visit I would ask for a balcony with a sea view if only for the pleasure of sitting there at night, I am not always a good sleeper and to hear and watch the sea would have been wonderful. Hen weekend - Apex international, Edinburgh

Advantages: Proximity to city, excellent rooms and brilliant staff
Disadvantages: none

...We visited Edinburgh on my hen night and I had previously stayed at the Apex City on buisness which is about 3 doors away from the Apex International. All of our guests were arriving at different times as travelling from far and wide. As the bride I arrived first at 8.30am as my flight was an early one. We checked in but our rooms were not ready, the hotel offered to take our bags and then suggested an excellent breakfast eatery located on the Royal Mile. As we had just landed in Edinburgh we did not have much of a clue how to navigate the city - the staff in reception were excellent and even gave us a free map whislt advising of the best sights to see!! ...My husband and I decided to book this hotel to stay in while we were getting married in Edinburgh. We decided to book this hotel after looking at its website and I must say that many hotels are a letdown when you see them in reality but this one was just as good or even better than we expected. It is a grotty hotel smack-bang in the centre of Thessalonica. ...September 1993. We flew from Manchester airport and flying time was about three and a half to four hours. We arrived at the smallest airport we have encountered at Prevesa on mainland Greece. This airport was so small that we had to stand on the tarmac until the passengers of the departing flight were through customs and on their plane. There was just no room at all. They did call it an international airport but ha ha, springs to mind. The toilets and facilities were not very clean and first impressions were not good. Luxury Hotel With Fabulous Beach Or Mountain Views
