Tesco Internet Shopping

Advantages: Saves time and carrying heavy goods
Disadvantages: if you forget something

...I have been ordering food from Tesco via the Internet for the past 3 months, I have been absolutely thrilled to bits with the sevice. I have had a few hiccups but on calling Customer Services and explaining they have gone out of their way to be as helpful and rectify any problems immediately. I have been given extra shopping that I have not ordered and advised to keep the items with Tesco's compliments. I have also returned goods not required and my bank account has been recredited within a couple of working days. The delivery people are also super. I have to say that I give a 10 out of 10 for the service. Something I was concerned about was receiving naff fruit and veg but I have only received the best of everything and I am usually a very difficult customer to please. P.S. There is a £5.00 delivery charge for this service....

...Amazon.co.uk is a very well known, and as it would appear, well loved website for people who wish to buy online. When I first started to use it I wasn't sure about how safe internet shopping was as I had heard so many bad things about internet fraud. I now know that amazon.co.uk is a very safe site to use and it guarantees that too. I have used amazon.co.uk quite a few times now and I not experienced any problems with it, I don't know if any one else has... I have found that the prices on amazon.co.uk are usually cheaper than that of the high-street shops. The selection of products that they have is amazing. There are so many titles to choose from. If you have already signed up and used the service, then you can introduce up to ten friends a year, and if they use amazon, then as a thank-you to you for introducing them, you will get...

The online shop I use the most...

Advantages: Easy to find books, free delivery (Super Saver Deliveries), can sell your own things 2nd hand
Disadvantages: not a very reliable review/rating system, some Marketplace Sellers are dodgy

...Marketplace orders. Make sure you get what you paid for. Also, if you buy from very "new" sellers that have a 0 or just 1 or 2 ratings, you should beware... as they might not turn out to be reliable - and don't have an online track record to prove it either! All in all, I love Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com despite all the gripes I have with it. No other online store comes close to the huge range of products and books that Amazon stocks. And the reliability of their delivery services is excellent. Update (29/4/2009): Amazon has now changed its Super Saver Delivery service terms. Now you can get Super Saver Delivery (i.e. Free Delivery) if you buy at least £5 worth of qualifying products!...

Advantages: Good prices to be had, everything bought and sold! 'My eBay' excellent
Disadvantages: Not the easiest to use - a bit fiddly at times

...I should point out - this is an ebay.co.uk review, not .com. eBay is an auction site, letting people throughout the UK bid on each others' unwanted goods. Now that I've got that out the way, on to the good stuff - eBay is fantastic! Design and ease of use eBay's homepage looks deceptively basic, it looks a bit like a yellow version of an internet portal like yahoo. Indeed, it is very basic to use - all the options available to visitors are clearly laid out in a bar at the top of the page, and underneath is a search box to find products currently at auction, alongside some helpful links for first-time visitors. Searching itself is also good, be it through typing something into the search box, or just browsing through the categories of products. ...Amazon have exceptional customer service and provide excellent service every time. Each and every time I order books from them, they arrive on time as specified by Amazon. I find that they have an excellent range of books and I always find what I am looking for. The prices are average, as I have come across books that are cheaper elsewhere. But on the whole the Amazon site is easy to navigate and has facilities for customers who shop there regularly. It is a secure site, so there is not danger of your details falling in the wrong hands....

the best internet shopping around I wonder.

Advantages: Quick and easy. With nice and simple interaction betweeen user and site.
Disadvantages: Some goods have arrived damaged and the pricing system can be deceptive

...I have to admit I was a little curious of this new and easy form of shopping? I mean god knows we all hate queuing and even before that you have to struggle to find what you want. Well I have to say that amazon certainly does remove these obstacles. Not only does it allow you to search for almost anything; it will give you a little review by them and some from other users. These of course are very useful, but for me the best part is that if you are buying music it will allow you to listen to clips of most of the songs. If you passion is for computer games it will try to give you as many pictures of the game as possible. The site is set-up in a very easy and user-friendly way. Even if you have no experience in online shopping everything is where you would expect it to be. However, I cannot pretend that everything is perfect at amazon...

...the delivery charges completely ruin the price advantage, especially on books! The marketplace feature is a touch of genius, displaying second hand goods next to the new item and makes a great way to save cash, and clear out your junk. The fees are eye watering, but there is much less messing about than with eBay. The only real problem isn't necessarily Amazon's fault, but I find some of the user reviews.. questionable. When someone is reviewing a book or game or cd that isn't released for another two months and giving it 5/5 you have to be suspicious! That aside, shopping with Amazon is a pleasant, stress free and cheap experience. I have had one or two delays but nothing major and this must be expected with mail order. I think other sites should take notice, espcially with usability and presentation!...
