Peerless?
Review of Iomega Peerless Peerless drive 20 GB by  raymie

Advantages: Size speed portable
Disadvantages: plastic expensive

...Iomega released a new device a mid-end 2001. This is a USB or Firewire removable harddisk. The version I have is a USB one with a 20GB disk supplied as standard. There is also a firewire version and smaller disk sizes available. All in all the product behaves as I would expect. It is not as fast as a fixed hard disk, but is fine for general use. The unit comes in two components, the disk itself (and you could buy additional ones) and a cradle (the bit which is either USB or Firewire). The harddisk seems ok but being plastic cased I would not want to have it bashed around much, a fairly thick case is provided however for the disk itself (the disk is about 3 inches by 6 inches). The cradle again is plastic and has a bright blue 'button' style of light on it. Looks ok when it is on the go but the cradle is not exactly made from... Read review

Omega Iomega I love you
Review of Iomega MiniMax Desktop Hard Drive Hard drive 250 GB by  Kingkarliii

Advantages: HaLoads of storage space
Disadvantages: Annoying blue light

...I have had my PC for two years now and just recently I managed to fill my 80 GB hard drive up with rubbish. There was so much rubbish on it the hard drive was having problems reading the data. It was so full that I didn't even have enough free space to do a defragmentation of the drive. Anyhow with my birthday looming just around the corner my girlfriend said that I could have a new hard drive as an early present. I only wanted a 100 GB hard drive but after I had had a browse around I discovered that I could get the Iomega 250 GB external hard drive for the same price. The hard drive itself is silver and has a clear blue strip across the front. The Iomega logo is clearly embossed on the top and underneath there is four rubber feet. There is also two vents one each side to draw in cool air. Specifications: USB 2.0 Transfer Rate: 400... Read review

An XBOX or what?
Review of Iomega Hard drive 500 GB by  thewhitewolf

Advantages: Love the look.
Disadvantages: n/a

...This looks so much like a games console that maybe that was what iomega were trying to build. A better looking model from Iomega than the other 500 GB model, this is a safe solid bet for a hard drive that won't let you down. In testing it performed well and did not overheat or become slow due to the rate of transfer. Design The portable hard drive comes in an attractive black case that has USB2 and FireWire 400 ports. It reminds me of an xbox and is certainly cool to look at. It's about 20 cms long and 10 in depth and weighs a fair bit. It is a desktop drive and can't really be moved around due to its size. Installation The instructions were easy to follow and it installed by windows wizard as soon as i plugged it in, so within 10 minutes i was backing up my files. Performance Performance is good for a portable hard disk... Read review

IOMEGA 500GB EXTERNAL USB HARD DRIVE
Review of Iomega Desktop Hard Drive Value Series Hard drive 500 GB by  mrjwood

Advantages: Easy installation, looks good, ease of use
Disadvantages: None found

...I've bought two of these drives now and am very impressed. On opening the box you'll find the following: The drive itself, power supply, USB cable and an instruction leaflet. The drive feels solid and well built, although the aluminium case does have some sharp edges near the front where it joins the plastic bezel. The drive comes formatted to FAT32, but this is easily changed to NTFS. Being a curious sort, I took one apart to find out the manufacturer of the actual drive inside and was happy to find a Seagate Barracuda, not the bottom of the range drive I was expecting! Installation under Windows XP/Vista is a doddle, just plug in the power cable, plug in the USB cable, switch it on and it's automatically detected and ready to go. In use, both drives have proved very reliable, and although transfer speeds over USB 2.0... Read review

The Silver Surfer of space.
Review of Iomega Portable Hard Drive Silver Series Hard drive 120 GB by  thewhitewolf

Advantages: compact and easy to move
Disadvantages: competition is better

...I seem to go through hard drives like a hot knife through butter, so it was no wonder that a warning appeared about low space left on my computer. Therefore i decided to review different hard drives offered by various companies before deciding which to purchase. Now i did not buy this Iomega, but only because i found a cheaper western digital passport with twice the gb offered. I found this to be a great performer as i was allowed to test it. Design The portable hard drive comes in an attractive silver and white case that has USB2 and FireWire 400 ports. It is a fully functional travel companion and easily fits into a rucksack or laptop bag. This is feasable because it weighs relatively little and is easy to handle. Installation The instructions were easy to follow and it installed by windows wizard as soon as i plugged it in, so... Read review

Quality, Affordable Back-Up Hard Drive
Review of Iomega HDD External Desktop Hard Drive 320 GB by  robert232

Advantages: Very Fast, Efficient, Stylish, Easy Installation
Disadvantages: Only a minor point the 1m usb cable

...I needed a fast and efficient external hard drive for doing full and incremental backups of my networked computer systems. I did a bit of research first before deciding on this Iomega product. It costs £58.95 from ebuyer with £10 (£48.95)off for using google checkout and at only 18p per GB you cant get much better than that at the moment. The Iomega drive comes in a very classy and stylish silver/aluminium casing which you can mount on the included stand or lay flat on your computer desk. Included in the box is a usb cable and a power adaptor and an instruction manual. It is usb 2.0 compatible which means that it has a raw data transfer rate of 480Mbps.It is also backward compatible with usb 1.1 which has a maximum transfer rate of 12Mbits/second. Spindle speed of this drive is 7500rpm.Only negative point is the usb cable could be a bit... Read review

Iomega Pro Hard Drive - triple interface is great
Review of Iomega Desktop Hard Drive Professional Silver Series Hard drive 500 GB by  davomrmac

Advantages: Build quality, good brand, lots of connection choices
Disadvantages: Medium speed

...Storage is all important, whether you need it for your day-to-day work, or for backing up those important files, you can never have enough of it. A lot of users are now turning to off-site storage solutions, such as Amazons S3 service. However, if you need something fast and reliable, then there is no other option that a desktop hard drive. Iomega have been in this game for a long time. I remember with a warm glow, the day when the original Zip Drive was released. Wow, all that data on a tiny little disk, the size of a fat 3.5-inch floppy. Well, they kindly sent me there Professional Series Desktop Hard Drive, with triple interface to review. Offering up 500GB of storage, with USB 2.0, FireWire 400 and two FireWire 800 ports lined up across the back panel. It is also nice to see an on/off switch on the back too (many drives don't come...
