A better looking model from Iomega than the other 500 GB model, this is a safe solid bet for a hard drive that won't let you down. In testing it performed well and did not overheat or become slow due to the rate of transfer. Design The portable hard drive comes in an attractive black case that has USB2 and FireWire 400 ports. It reminds me of an xbox and is certainly cool to look at. It's about 20 cms long and 10 in depth and weighs a fair bit. It is a desktop drive and can't really be moved around due to its size. Installation The instructions were easy to follow and it installed by windows wizard as soon as i plugged it in, so within 10 minutes i was backing up my files. ...I needed a fast and efficient external hard drive for doing full and incremental backups of my networked computer systems. I did a bit of research first before deciding on this Iomega product. It costs £58.95 from ebuyer with £10 (£48.95)off for using google checkout and at only 18p per GB you cant get much better than that at the moment. The Iomega drive comes in a very classy and stylish silver/aluminium casing which you can mount on the included stand or lay flat on your computer desk. Included in the box is a usb cable and a power adaptor and an instruction manual.It is usb 2.0 compatible which means that it has a raw data transfer rate of 480Mbps.It is also backward compatible with usb 1.1 which has a maximum transfer rate of 12Mbits/second. Spindle speed of this drive is 7500rpm.Only negative point is the usb cable could be a bit... Read review

...This is an alternative to carrying a flash drive around with you as it uses a small Seagate 1 inch hard drive with a 3600rpm 2MB specification. Compared to a flash drive, especially the latest ones available, it should last longer so long as you don't throw it around and damage the mechanics inside. Flash drives die after X thousand read/write operations. It being a small hard drive, it isn't as fast copying/reading files. 8GB nowadays can be easily had for dogs money so this isn't a cheap alternative. For some this may appear more elegant than a pen drive (you decide!). Installation is dead easy, just pop it in if you're using Windows XP or newer and it will detect a new USB device. Build quality is high up and so seems to be durability too.... Read review

...Wouldn't it be great if you could have a medium as easy to use as a floppy disk, that was almost as quick as a hard drive, held a halfway decent amount of data, and was reusable? Guess what - it's already been invented, and by all accounts has already been thrown upon the scrap heap of 'great ideas that never quite made it big time' I speak of the Syquest SyJet 1.5Gb removable disk drive. Nowadays, in a world obsessed by CD and DVD technology, it's easy to mock parallel port devices that present a 'virtual SCSI' interface to your PC or Mac, and use moderately expensive and highly obscure media - but these are still useful bits of kit to have around. Mention 'removable storage' and two names immediately spring to mind; Iomega with their ZIP drive and SyQuest. The SyJet 1.5Gb offers a quality product which provides all... Read review

...I've had my 4x Iomega ZipCD650 for 6 months now, and I've generally been pleased with it. The build quality seems excellent, probably exceeding some budget models. However, the big question with any CD Writer is "how many CDs will it waste?". My answer with my Iomega has been "it depends". It seems that to get the best performance you should try different CD Writing software as depending on your CD Writer, computer, and operating system performance varies greatly. I found Adaptec Easy CD 3.5 (supplied) to be o.k. but a bit dodgy, Adaptec 4 Deluxe to be significantly better, and Nero to be the most reliable of all (although its interface isn't as user-friendly perhaps). This said, I expect the same variability applies to all CD-RWs. Overall though, it has been a good buy as I have burned perhaps 200 CDs, with only about 10 failures... Read review

...well when i bought my new rig 5 months ago i spent a small fortune on the graphics card so started looking for some good priced and branded ram with good timings i stumbled upon the geil ram and it looked perfect i purchased the GeIL Value Dual Channel 2 GB DDR SDRAM kit and i now run itin my new box on an asus a8r-mvp motherboard with a 3.5 64 bit chip in it. my rig is mainly used for gaming hence the need for a good graphics card and good ram this ram has performed very well in both dual and single channel mode currently i am running it in dual channel mode and combined with the rest of the pc i can run battlefiled 2 at max settings with no lag and still achieve 90 fps overall for the money you cannot go wrong with this ram the heatsinks on it look good and do work well....
