...--Background-- I bought the iPod touch for my son for his 10th birthday. Before he alerted me to the item I knew nothing at all about it. Having played around with it for a few hours, I can now see what all the fuss is about as this item is so addictive. The touch comes in 3 guises, namely 8Gb, 16Gb and 32Gb versions. These are all identical apart from, obviously the storage capacity. --In the box-- I must admit that then the box came, I thought half the order had been missed as it is minute! Ipod Classic - 160GB

Advantages: Size, Workmanship, Functionality
Disadvantages: Zero support for some old peripherals, crashes car stereo , Bit heavy!

...Initially I bought this for my commute to work. Having owned a IPod video 30 gig which suffered long term abuse, and being dropped countless times - I decided to splash out and treat myself. The IPod classic - well, there is not much difference functionality then the IPod video. Opening any product made by apple is a joy in itself - one does wonder how long they deliberate over the pretty box! Getting over the box design, the IPod is neatly presented - with the contents kept in individual packaging. Once I tapped the play button, the usual setup menu was a welcoming sight and I continued the usual setup process. I noticed that he kept borrowing my ipod nano and initially planned to get him one of his own but on the Apple website I saw the ipod touch and worked out that if I got him that then I could steal it and use it! Disadvantages: scratches easily space used for unknown reasons

...Since getting my Ipod touch for christmas i have been obsessed. I love how i can easily access the internet and download apllications almost anywhere where there is an available internet connection. The screen is clear and the sound is crisp although the speaker could do with being slightly louder. I had slight trouble in the first week of getting my ipod as it crashed and i ws unable to use it for a few days until i found out on the Apple website how to reset and restore it which resulted in all my songs and apps that were already on it being deleted. Thankfully it was a quick process to get them all back on again. One disadvange is a lot of memory is taken up under the section know as 'other' on itunes, in my case it is around 1Gb and i stil lhave no idea what it is using all that memory, i would not mind if the capacity was larger but...

8GB Ipod Touch

Advantages: Wii-fi support, touch screen display, ease of use
Disadvantages: quite pricey, output through headphones just, unless you by a docking station

...One things for sure Ipods are getting more popular by the day as more features and different designs are being introduced to these almost everyday necessities. I purchased the 8gb version 3 months or so back and ive been really please with it. It stands out from the rest as it has a large screen for viewing videos and photo's, but not only that it has the built in touch sensitive display which is very easy to use and im sure very popular. It has also introduced the new wii-fi so that you can connect to a wireless connection whether it be from the comfort of your home or in a coffee shop etc. when you go to i-tunes ur music and files can be transferred to your ipod within seconds though videos take a bit longer. All in all id say this product is worth investing in if you have a spare £180....

Advantages: Big Music Storage, Awesome looks.

...This Ipod is extremely nice looking and easy to use, just as the iphone it has the touch screen interface. Only it lacks the phone, camera and GPS. With it's 32gb capacity its the ideal choice for the music lover, because you won't find 32gb capacity iphones (just 16) and you can let it alone playing music in a party while not worrying about phone calls. I've had it for about 4 months now and absolutely love it, it has never failed or had any problems, also it has survived some falls with no scratches at all (the "delicate" looking glass screen can survive alomost any scratch without getting any marks), though i use a protective case which i also recommend you buy if your gonna have this baby. Extra feauters include WiFi internet, Youtube, Contacts, Agenda, Calendar, Alarms besides the Music and Video playing capabilities...

...the apple ipod touch 32GB is the best value for money in my eyes when it comes to versitility, durability and capacity although the capacity is put to shame by that of the ipod video which has about 100GB it is still plenty of space for all your application, music and video needs. versitility: the ipod touch contains an itunes app store with over 10,000 application to do anything form straightening a picture to practising guitar in cramped conditions, but if your not into those it also has thousands more practical apps such as a mobile internet browser and a scientific calculator. durability: I personaly have an ipod touch and form the time i got it i must have dropped it at least 20 times on concrete and stone floors until I finally made the clever descision to just buy a case but before that i found that the ipod touch can take...

The way it stores music is very well layed out and easy to use and the connectivity is amazing! The Wi-Fi is also very useful and i regularly use the net on it. You can store photos and videos and zoom in and out just by moving your fingers together or apart! This is a truely amzing bit of kit and is well worth buying! The Ipod touch has many good features.
