...This cable comes with your iPod. It's the only way provided free with the iPod for you to recharge it. You plug it into a desktop or laptop computer and your iPod will charge via the power provided to the computer. It seemed adequate enough when I was first using it, as long as the cable works and it's not too slow there aren't many complaints you can have unless it breaks. Clearly my luck isn't too good. The cable broke after 2-3yrs, it didn't snap so initially I wasn't sure why my iPod wouldn't recharge but which is cheaper, replacing the iPod battery or buying a new cable? I wasn't too pleased to find out the price of a new cable so I decided to go with a cheap import from Hong Kong (not an iPod brand cable) which cost me only £2-3 and I've had no problems with it as of yet. I certainly wouldn't pay the £13-16 the iPod cable...

Ipod Universal Dock, Dock Em In!

Advantages: Universal for all ipods, Compatible with remote, Has Lots Of Connections

...I bought this dock about 4 months ago and I have been using it on a daily basis every since, I got this dock so that I could play my music through speakers (without unplugging headphones) and use the remote so I don?t have to move to change the song and FF,RW etc (lazy). I have been using this dock for around 4 months on a daily basis and I think that the dock is wicked, I have had no problems with the dock and it has made my music listening much more enjoyable because I can use the remote to control the Ipod (Remote Purchased Separately). And I don?t have to remove the headphones to use the speakers as the dock has a 3.5 audio jack built in, and I can use the dock for data transfer with my pc as well as charging through the mains (cables have to be bought separately too). And scene as though I have the video Ipod I can use the docks...

Bose Sound Dock (2nd Generation)

Advantages: Incredible sound from such a small unit, good build quality
Disadvantages: Price

...I bought this unit in November this year. There are two models, the original sound dock which I think is about £199 and the second generation one (the one I bought) which was £279 from John Lewis. The second generation one is basically the same as the first except: a) it has a rechargeable battery b) it has a swing out dock c) it has an auxiliary (3.5mm) jack input If you just want a basic model, then go for the first gen one. I got the second gen one because I thought the battery was a useful addition as is the auxiliary 3.5mm input - I have mine connected to an apple airport express that streams itunes from my laptop to my bedroom although I have used it in a friends house with my ipod too. ...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't say enough good things about the Bose SoundDock

...figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running out of battery while using the SoundDock. I think the best thing I could say about this, is that two people, after having listened to my SoundDock have literally rushed out and bought their own. ...In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers. make the most of your ipod with the iStation

...the port at the bottom of the ipod (where you put a USB cable in) and it plays songs straight from your ipod through the speakers. Brilliant! I have a case on my ipod video that makes it more bulky so it doesnt actually fit in the holder, but you can interchange them depending on what ipod you are listening to so I just take it out completely and sit it directly on the connection- no problems there. The Istation keeps it simple with just 4 buttons on the front- allo that's needed. Universal Dock

Advantages: Line out, s-video out, charge, sync, stand, remote control.

...First of all, i purchased this when buying my 30GB black, a couple of things made me like this docking station, i prefer plugging it into my surround sound system so i this is why i went for it has a 3.5mm line out. Then, i could watch my music videos, using the 'S-VIDEO' out on the back of the dock. And i can charge/sync my ipod using the apple socket at the back. Only problem i found was, if you want to control your ipod remotely you have to purchase the apple remote. Which is another £20 in the shops, what i would reccommend which is what i did, was purchase a apple remote of ebay, obviously you might not be as lucky as me, but i managed to get one for £11 inc delivery off there. Also a good stand for it to sit there and look pretty :) and it comes with all the adapters to fit all ipods....
