Advantages: brilliant storage and games
Disadvantages: not random on playlist and can be ackward to add videos

...I never thought I would need an ipod. I was quite happy with my midi player, but after getting one for my birthday I would never look back! You may think you don't need to have all your cds with you when you go out , which you don't, but it make traveling so much better. To be able to create a play list with all your favorite songs is amazing and i don't mean like uploading your top 30 to you mp3 player, I mean ALL your favorite song. Whats even better is that if you know someone who has ipod speakers or if you have them yourself, then all your mates can bring round their ipods and have so much choice of music to listen to and it saves carrying around all those clumsy cds. Now enough of my own opinions, here are some hard facts... Storage The box tells you it can store up to 7500 songs. I have 1250 songs on mine...

iPod 30GB Classic

Advantages: Large HardDrive, Photo and Video Storage
Disadvantages: Some Uploading Problems

...First of all lets just say, what a great product. Now that iPods have the ability to store videos and photos aswell as the standard music the 30GB harddrive memory really comes in handy and gives plenty of room for a nice selection of each. The battery life was said to be 14hours for music on this item but to be honest I would have to say it would be nearer 8-9hours which as im sure you'll agree is a significant difference. The design is as before stylish and again as before the scrolling wheel makes searching through your library much easier. Syncing your iPod couldn't be more simple, just install itunes and your away however I have found that some of my videos wont upload onto my iPod despite being in the iTunes library. Also the automatic upload of any new songs really helps those of us who aren't completely clued up on technology...

...is excellent because it came with a free screen protector. You only get a USB charger also. If you wish to charge on the go in a wall or in the car then you will need to buy another charger. Also the computer needs to be on for it to charge. OTHER The battery life lasts through at least two films I have found and then some. It is very good considering the screen is brighter than the old version yet the battery lasts longer. A tip to save battery is to have the backlight off when not needed! Advantages: SMALLISH, EASY TO USE
Disadvantages: CHARGING IS A PAIN

...with the IPOD. Updating the IPOD from a PC is straight-forwarded and usually done automatically when you recharge. You are also able to upload digital photo's from your camera directly to the IPOD. This is one of the reasons why I bought it as I travel quite a bit and always find myself out of memory space on my digital camera. Now, I can upload the photo's to the IPOD and carry on shooting. You do need an extra cable though-which adds to the cost of course. I do find charging the IPOD a pain as you have to plug it into a PC though the USB cable provided. You are able to purchase a seperate mains adapter-approx £30-again spending even more money. In short, after buying some extra bits like fashionable covers, charger, transfer cable etc. I am very pleased with my IPOD-much happier than I would have been with the Sony....

Advantages: Quality product, good battery life
Disadvantages: gets dirty easy, even with case

...Was adamant I wouldn't buy any sort of MP3 player, thought it would be a complete waste of time as I would never use it and at around £200, thought it was a bit pricey. After a while I looked into it and then heard there is a device that lets you tune the Ipod into an FM stereo so thought it would be ideal for long car journeys. So I thought what the hell, splashed out on one of these and I can honestly say, it has been money well spent. I walk to work so I listen to it on the way to and from work, when i go on long car journeys, I tune it into the radio using the I-trip, and it saves on having a cd-changer or having to change cd's over. Everything about this product is appealing, it looks good, feels good, makes you feel good and does everything it's said to do.
