Advantages: An interesting insight from two different perspectives

...I find a certain fascination in true crime books so a quick glance along my bookshelf will reveal books about the Yorkshire Ripper, Harold Shipman and Fred and Rosemary West so I guess it was inevitable that sooner or later I would buy a book about Steve Wright - the so-called 'Suffolk Strangler'. Perhaps it was even more likely because I also happen to live just outside Ipswich so have a knowledge of many of the areas where he was operating. Add to that an interest in psychology and you can perhaps understand why I bought a copy of Hunting Evil: Inside the Ipswich Serial Murders last week almost as soon as it hit the shelves. Hunting Evil is written by Sky news journalist Paul Harrison who is claiming to be the 'Journalist who broke the story' - well he might have been to the wider world but, here in Ipswich, I was aware of it...

Advantages: Feels safe, reasonable night life, clean, friendly people
Disadvantages: not enough clubs

...I live on the outskirts of Ipswich, in a little countryside village. Ipswich is only about 15 minutes drive away, so I'm always going out there. The shopping has improved recently, don't get me wrong - you won't find loads of amazingly unique shops or anything, but it has most of the shops that other towns have, and two shopping centers (The Buttermarket and Tower Ramparts). The nightlife in Ipswich is adequate. We have 3 main clubs - Fire & Ice, Liquid and Pals. On Monday nights people tend to go to Club Fire (cheap entry and cheap drinks and lots of cheesy music). Thursdays at Liquid are also popular. The pubs are pretty good - if you're a bit of a rocker then you should check out the Black Horse (near to the police station), which is a nice pub (although a little bit expensive). The Golden Lion is often packed at the weekends...

Ipswich nightlife

Advantages: some good music
Disadvantages: needs more clubs

...I don't live that far from Ipswich but I feel that from the quiet secluded pubs of a traditional country town to the vibrant nightclubs which appeal to the younger generation.....Ipswich can cater for all I am a student and the nightlife in Ipswich can be good. There are several nightclubs in Ipswich you have Fire and Ice and Liquid these are the most popular ones and are situated near each other. On Mondays and Thursdays at Fire and Ice there is student nights, which means free entry with a leaflet or if you're on the guestlist or before a certain time mostly 9:30pm. The drinks alnight are £1.50 e.g. Jack Daniels and coke would be £1.50. Mondays are Rock night not the best music as it isn't really rock . Liquid also do rock night on Wednesday and R&B Thursdays. Fire and Ice is different to some clubs as they have...

...Everyone was suprised when Ipswich were going to be returing to the Premiership, everyone had them as their favourites to go straight back down.....but they proved us wrong. George Burley has completley turned the team around, when he signed Marcus Stewart at the end of the season everybody said "oh he won't do anything in the premiership" but he has even pushed himself for an England call-up after scoring 18 goals in all competitions. The defence which consists of Bramble, Venus, Clapham and Wright have done ever so well being so young. Richard Wright has played outstanding this year between the posts and is also pushing for an England call-up. The midfield which is lead by captain Holland has been influential in making goals and tracking back to help defend. The attack which has been phenomanal and a goal scoring machine...

Ipswich Party Town

Advantages: Very quiet
Disadvantages: Only caters for the garage people

...I have been in Ipswich for just over two weeks. My partner was offered a position at one of the towns biggest employers and so we moved from way up north in from the wild Yorkshire Moors to sunny Ipswich. Being an hour away by train from the bright lights of London I imagined that Ipswich maybe quite a hip and upcoming area, deep down I knew we would end up in a little old town where the 'next big thing' to happen was the once a month church disco. To be fair Ipswich does cater for the youth of Ipswich well at least some of it. The Opium Lounge and Buddah Bar are situated on Orwell street in the centre of town and cater for the garage and drum and bass listeners. However I would reccomend anyone to go in just to look at the decor. The Buddah Bar situated beneath the Opium Lounge is seperated into six little booths draped...

IPSWICH TOWN PREMIER TEAM

Advantages: GOOD TEAM SPIRIT
Disadvantages: SMALL CLUB

...Who would have thought that Ipswich Town Football Club would have ever reached the dizzy height of THIRD POSITION in the Premiership!!! Whilst I appreciate that it is still early in the season,this is still quite an achievement. George Burley seems to be a prodigee of Sir Bobby Robson,one of the greatest football managers of modern times who gave George a tremendous example to build upon. The objective,this season,is to stay in the Premiership and,if this is achieved,I am confident that the club will be a force to be reckoned with at this level. Drawing with Manchester United--Winning at Leeds,this could not have realistically been predicted. The title of "TRACTOR BOYS" is a somewhat unpopular one but I AM SURE WE WILL PLOUGH THROUGH THE OPPOSITION AND SOW THE SEEDS OF SUCCESS AND HARVEST THE FINANCIAL BENEFITS!!!!!!!!!...

Ipswich... not really a very nice place

Advantages: Er... it has some shops
Disadvantages: Ugly, violent, grey, bland, featureless

...Last year we visited Ipswich, mainly because we'd never been there before and thought, why not? "It might be really good", he thought, naively. Anyway- it isn't. If I was to summarise Ipswich in one sentence I wuld have to say that it's like Peterborough but with less shops and, believe it or not, even less character. When we emerged from the train station and (eventually) found our way into the city centre, it turned out to be a grey jungle of roundabouts, blocky grey buildings and general drabness. In fact it suited the colour of the sky that day. It was also a little like Slough, except that the buildings are bigger and seem to press in on you a little moreas you forlornly try and find your way to the shops. And when you do finally locate the "shopping centre" you will find that it mainly consists of one long street, packed...

...Firstly congratulations to Ipswich Town for working very hard and getting back into the English Premiership. It is great to have a team in East Anglia that are in the Premiership. Hopefully they will do well and not like they did last time in the Premiership and lose 8 or 9 (I forget!) to 0 against Manchester United. No doubt they?ll increase their ticket prices by 100% but then again it is worth it to see some Premiership action in my area! Best of luck to them in the future! ! !...

...Ipswich Town's Premiership drive has finally paid off. But will they stay up? Definitely!! All the doubters and doom-mongers who predict instant relegation are misguided. Look at other Premiership survivors especially Sunderland. Led by a manager infamous for his reluctance to spend, they have thrived in the Premiership with their Div 1 side. Whereas local rivals Newcastle, with their "Geordie Messiah" Shearer, have struggled despite excesive transfer market activity. In short money does not guarantee Premiership success or failure. ...ipswich town can stay up if the supporters have confidence in the team. this will affect the players by giving them confidence and make the player want to stay up in the premier league. also if the supporters are loud and keep a big atmosphere in the stadium and through out the match even when they are losing, then that will give the players a massive boost. i do not considor ipswiches squad to be small. when people think of lower league teams they dont really look at their players properly. if its not a known player that the average premier league team supporter knows then surly they are not good enough. for instance David Johnson who has heard of him befor ipswitch come in to the premier league man u fans may of because they are the ones that raised him at their acadamy. another example is man city they have bought players that have...
