Bewleys Hotel Dublin
Advantages: Near To Airport, Price
Disadvantages: None?
...I stayed at the Bewleys Hotel once before flying out from Dublin Airport, its a great location if you chose to fly from Dublin and live quite far away from it.
The double room we stayed in cost around 69 euros for one night, this is reasonable when you look at it from the point of view that travelling to the airport will be much easier the day after and also that your holiday begins a day earlier by staying there.
The room was clean and tidy and quite modernly decorated, there were two large (well big enough) double beds in the twin room and a small sitting area, the bathroom was clean and had a shower and a bath in it and had a few little treats like shower gel and a small sewing kit in it which I always like when I am staying in a hotel. There was a decent sized tv in the room that had a good range of channels that catered...

Great Dublin Hotel
Advantages: Excellent Location, Nice Rooms
Disadvantages: Possibly Noisy
...I have now been to Dublin twice and both times i have stayed at Blooms Hotel as i was so impressed with it the first time. Blooms is a 3-star Hotel.
LOCATION
Firstly the location of Blooms is perfect for a nice weekend in Dublin. It is located in Angelsea Street which is in the Temple Bar area which means that within a few hundred yards you have a large selection of bars and restaurants which is perfect. Also within a ten minute walk is Grafton Street which is the main shopping area of Dublin.
STAFF
As soon as you enter the reception area of Blooms Hotel you are greeted by the friendly staff who are very nice and helpfull. They have either been very well trained or are naturally pleasant and willing to help. The staff will also give you a wake-up call in the morning if you require one, a service which we used to make sure...

Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport Quality
Advantages: New build, price, high quality, service, location
Disadvantages: Some airport noise
...OVERVIEW
I had not heard of the Carlton hotel chain prior to my visit to Ireland in late 2006, but it turned out to be a brand new 4 star modern hotel and the cheapest of this hotel class in Dublin at the time of my booking. I had already had a bad experience with a previous hotel in Ireland and was anxious that I didn?t want this episode repeated, so I took the plunge and booked with the Carlton.
I was not disappointed and will be returning later this year. The hotel is ideal for short breaks, business meetings, people with an interest in aviation and families.
LOCATION
The hotel is located about 5 minutes drive from the main airport terminal. The hotel is new, it only opened about a year ago, it?s smart, modern and extremely competitively priced for hotels in this class, especially when using one of the many online...

Arlington Hotel in Dublin
Advantages: In the centre of Dublin
Disadvantages: Rooms in need of being redecorated
...The Arlington hotel is in the centre of Dublin nest to the river Liffey. I went with my husband and 7 other friends- which ended up with us requiring 3 double rooms 1 twin room and one single- we booked online and took up their offer of the winter madness (this meant by going Monday to Wednesday we would have free breakfast both mornings and one free evening meal for ?99 per person per night) this was available for us all except for the one who booked a single room and had to pay for his meal.
Booking for this many people online we were a bit worried that there would be a lot of problems (it's not the same talking to someone on the phone) and when we arrived sure enough only 2 double rooms had been booked but the hotel reception staff were very efficient in getting us another room that would be ready the same time as the others. Then...

Abbey Hotel, Dublin
Advantages: Central, Clean
Disadvantages: Basic Facilities
...I stayed in this lovely little hotel in Febuary of this year (2006). Arriving from Dublin Int. Airport, I found it very easy to find from the bus stop on O'Connel Street (only 5 min walk from 'The Spire' / centre).
Check in is not till early afternoon, so if arriving in the morning, make sure you have something to do/planned for the time between arrivial and check in.
The rooms are small, but comfortable and cean. My room consisted of two beds, a televsion with 15+ channels, numerous plug sockets, facilities for making a hot drink, bed side table with lamp, spaceous closet. The en-suit bathroom had a bath with mounted wall shower and curtain, large sink and toilet. Towels were provided and changed on request.
I paid for breakfast in the morning, which was served between 7-10am. The options were a cereal and yoghurt combination...

Best Western Hotel, Dublin.
Advantages: Close to tram stop and airport bus stop.
Disadvantages: Can get quite busy with people checking in & out.
...I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last few years. Its quite a way outside the main Temple-Bar area but is right by the tram stops. As the trams run very regularily getting about is easy.
The hotel is very close to Houston rail station. If you fly into Dublin airport one of the many buses outside the airport will take you to the station and the hotel is about a 3 minute walk away.
The rooms are sparce and basic but suitable. The breakfast is very good and you certainly wont want for a large lunch. This is a big fry-up with all the trimmings.
The cost of the hotel is middle of the road but reasonable for what you get. Yes its reasonably basic inside but you get what you pay for.
It does get quite busy and checking in and out can take up a little time. There is the facility to leave luggage there if you arrive...

Grand Canal Hotel Dublin
Advantages: Good restraunt, good location
Disadvantages: bathroom fan has no 'off' switch
...First the advice. If you are going to use this hotel (a 3* hotel) the best way to get to it is using the air-coach which goes from Dublin airport every 20 min or so. The stop you want is the 'school house hotel' The grand canal hotel is then just a short walk away. The air coach is far cheaper than taking a taxi (could be as much as ?30 cheaper) and it's quicker.
One of the hotels big advantages (could be seen as a disadvantage by some). It is about a 15 - 20 min walk from the main shoping area of the city, so this means it is fairly quiet at night. However this also means that it is quite a distance from the big tourist attractins such as the Guinnes store house and the Jameson distillery.
The rooms are large, well decorated, double glazed, clean, are all on suite and as you would expect are serviced daily. The only problem...

IN DUBLIN'S FAIR CITY
Advantages: A wonderful City
Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
...My Mother wasn?t born in Ireland, (like an old song says), but my Grandmother, (my Father's Mother), was born in Dublin. Her Family arrived there in 1493 when they fled Spain during the Spanish Inquisition.
We decided to visit Dublin for a few days. We were going to Israel via Amsterdam and in those days it was cheaper to fly from Amsterdam to Dublin than it was from London. We flew on Aer Lingus for a little over an hour.
Dublin is the capital city of Erin, (the Gaelic name of Ireland). The currency then was the punt or the Irish pound,(they use the Euro now). The official language is Gaelic but English is used as well. Dublin?s population is just under one million people. We stayed at the Drury Court Hotel near St. Stevens Greens the first night and then had to move to the
Fitzwilliam Hotel, (for the next 2 nights). It is near...

The Ardmore Hotel, Dublin
Advantages: Bargain price.
Disadvantages: Slightly too far from town if you're interested in a long term stay.
...After reading all of the terrible reviews for the Ardmore hotel i was really rather skeptical about staying there.
I booked for two nights on the 8th july for me and my girlfriend and i was on edge throughout the whole journey because of the reviews that i had read.
However, the journey from the airport was a rapid one and one that didn't break the bank! We were welcomed to the hotel with a smile, the only problem with checking in was that we had to wait until 12 to check in which left us waiting around for two hours. This was understandable though and couldn't be helped.
Although the hotel is situated 2.5 miles from th city centre it really isnt that far. It is a pleasant walk through a few towns (if youve got the time that is) and we enjoyed it a lot.
Alternatively you could catch the bus...this was an experience for us. I...

Dublin, The Home Of The Black Stuff
Advantages: Great Party Atmospere, Great Guinness, Great Time
Disadvantages: Not for Your "Horlicks, Pipe and Sliper folk
...a week-end of it. So...we booked for a two night stay in Dublin
Got the flight from Blackpool for about £20.00 each and booked into the Temple Bar hotel on Temple Bar (which is a well known, popular Dublin area)
Heard a lot about the place, but to be honest on the way from the airport, it didnt quite do anything for me. The cab driver took us down O,Conell St and we had a bit of a tour and still, just didnt click.
The hotel was really nice and had all the amenities you could want for a couple of nights away with friends, hot water, clean rooms, fresh towels. Tea making facilities ect.
We went straight out of the hotel in the mid afternoon afetr dropping off our bags and hit the pubs. The girls had a glass of wine, and me and my mate had...well...you wont believe it...but we had a Guinness.
And then we had some more of the black...
