Magig Box IMP Adapt Performance
Advantages: None over a PC or Laptop
Disadvantages: Constant interuption when playing on demand programmes
...The IMP came with old software that needed updating online and involved calls to the service department who were helpful but very offhand bordering on rude.
Once working (?) the system appears to work reasonably well listening to live broadcasts.
However, if you intend to use this to listen to BBC on demand then think again. The system constantly buffers i.e. a buffer is a region of memory used to temporarily holds data while it is being moved from one place to another. The buffering usually ensures smooth playing of video games music etc online.
When listening to BBC Listen Again the buffering is so band that I have experienced 10 seconds music followed by 15 seconds silence while the IMP buffers the next music bite. The constant interruptions make the IMP little more than useless.

Iriver X20 4GB
Advantages: micro sd card slot, fm radio, volume, videos
Disadvantages: main control dial, menus, equaliser, Apple unfriendly (no AAC support)
...Sound Quality Excellent
Ease of Use Simple - too simple, needs a little more choices on the menu.
Look & Design - looks like an average phone!, not very classy.
Range of Features Excellent but.......
Value for Money - depends on where and how you buy it really.
Advantages: record fm radio, play videos, micro sd expnasion port.
Disadvantages: will not handle Apple aac files which rules out 95% of my library. Expect to re-rip your cd's or convert aac to something the Iriver likes.
Recommend to potential buyers: yes but......

I also chose the Iriver X20 with 2GB internal memory and then chose to review it in the 4GB category. BUT as I have a 2GB micro SD card in the Iriver's slot it IS a 4GB X20 so there!

iriver 'CHUNKY'
Advantages: Good features, simple to use and good sound quality
Disadvantages: Very poor design
...After experimenting with several types of portable MP3 players, the iriver was my first step past the 2GB marker. I bought the MP3 player online and the overall look seemed impressive. The description boasted touch screen facilities and several functions including voice record and fm radio. In comparison to the ipod etc, i found the price of the device exceptionally cheap. However when the product was delivered I changed my mind about the appearance of the device. I found the device to be very broad and 'chunky'! Sure it does have good features, impressive memory, fm radio, voice record and the sound quality isn't that bad either. I encountered several problems with it when transferring music and had to reset the device several times. I trully believed the device would be a competitor against other brands such as apple, creative...

Iriver U10 - Caught the digital flow
Advantages: A brilliant way to listen to music or watch Videos. Still a very modern design.
Disadvantages: The firmware updates have stopped coming, thats about it.
... Iriver U10 2GB
This mp3/mp4 player is the best product I have ever payed money for. It is so small and compact yet the features are astonishing, the video capability allows you to watch videos where ever you may roam. The quility of the videos is as good as any other leading brand mp4 that could reach 3 times the price of this U10.
The picture quality again is somewhat unbeleivable when compared with the size of this product, I think Iriver are showing this off when I look at the sample pictures that come as default with this product. The pictures are simply stunning.
The sound quality is exceptional, I first had this product when I was 15 and I still have it 4 years on, it stills works exactly as it id when I got it out of the box. I am a sporting man, I play rugby and I enjoy mountain biking. Iriver is the best companion...

The Reliable and Trustworthy IRiver
Advantages: Relaible, Cheap, Quick, Easy to Use, Easy Connection and Useful Features
Disadvantages: Lack of Games Features
...i bought my 6 GB Iriver H10 two years ago for £80 and it is worth every penny.
I didn't want to buy an Ipod as i had heard they involved a lot of software and connecting, adn so i opted for the IRiver as it uses Media Player and connects with one cable.
The transmission speeds are very good anda full album can be sent over in 2 minutes.
i have dropped it several times and the battery has never become loose, imy screen is undamaged and unscratched amd the speed of the IRiver is the same as when i bought it.
The reformatting of the IRiver is quick and very easy and the other features of the IRiver are very useful.
I use the text for reading short stories and i use the radio to listen to my favourite frequencies.
Although the IRIver lacks the games and quiz feature i still believe it is great value for money....

Take A Dive In The Iriver
Advantages: Small and Lightweight, Holds good number of songs...
Disadvantages: Tracks can 'jump at times.
...The Iriver is a nice little machine, especially if you're new to the world of MP3ism, as it is easy to use, and the software is a doddle (all the software that you need really, is Windows Media Player 10 at least).
What's the device's song capacity?
The device's song capacity isn't huge, nothing compared to the more expensive models like Creative or Ipods, but it's a cheaper alternative, ranging at n average price of £40 (about 80 or so dollars). However, the amount of songs it stores is exceptional, asI have currently about 80 or so songs, and have room for a good number more.
How fast do tracks transfer to the device?
Pretty quickly, but, again, not as quickly as a song would transfer to an Ipod or a device by Creative Labs-however, it still barely takes 5 seconds for a song to be put onto the T30 (depending on what program you...

iRiver H340?Much Better Than An iPod!
Advantages: 40GB storage, Supports various audio formats, Colour LCD screen, 12 hour battery life for audio, watch AVI movies, Includes lots of accessories
Disadvantages: Bit on the pricey side, Slow boot up, Only AVI supported, small screen, A bit chunky, movies not as smooth
...The iRiver H340 Multi-Codec Jukebox, which is basically something like an iPod but with a difference. It has built-in FM Tuner and you can watch movies on it!
? ? ? WHY DID I BUY IT? ? ? ?
This seems to be the age of the iPods but I?m not a fan of the iPod because of the battery life and because everyone?s got one. It?s a fashion statement. You?re walking down the street, you see people with the white earphones and they?re everywhere! I thought the storage space was impressive and they look pretty good but that?s all. (Sorry iPod fans). My friend bought an iRiver and told me about it. He told me it could play MP3?s and even movies. I looked it up, and read a review about it, after that, I had to get one!
? ? ? WHAT WERE MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS? ? ? ?
The player fits nicely in my hand. It looks good but it?s bulkier than its 40...

iThink iPrefer iRiver
Advantages: Really slim, light, has colour screen and looks pretty.
Disadvantages: Buttons are a little fiddly when using through the silicone case.
...files other than iTunes MP3s on your iPod, it no longer plays music! I also wanted a colour screen, not for any real reason, other than I fancied it. I suppose I'm a little technology vain. I also wanted it to have a separate battery and have batteries readily available for purchase (the iPod has to be sent back to the manufacturer for the battery to be changed).
The one and only MP3 player that instantly jumped out at me was this rather sexy number called the iRiver H10. OK, so it's not the smallest, but it's one of the lightest (at 96g) and smartest looking gadgets on the market. It not only plays music in the form of MP3s and radio, but also boasts a generous screen which you can read e-books on (something I have not tried yet), and browse photos in their full colour glory! It is also really easy to use, with a simple 'drag and drop...

PERFECT SOUND OF IRIVER!!
Advantages: Capacity, battery life, stylish, remote control, sound quality
Disadvantages: Bulky, joystick
...This was the second iRiver I had purchased - the first being the previous model (H120), which I painstakingly chose over the classy iPod 3 years ago, due to the iPod's then incompatability with my antiquated computer!
It is a choice I have never looked back on since the day I first aquired my beautiful iRiver....
The H140 is almost identical to it's predecessor (the H120), but sports a somewhat sexy black exterior, and the obvious double memory capacity!
Features of this awesome gadget include:
Capacity: 40gb (approximately enough music to play continously for 2 weeks!!!!)
Battery life: 16 hours from rechargable Li Battery
Multi file format support - MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, WAV
Remote control - 4 line display, displays text from HP140 on smaller screen
FM radio
Dictaphone/Voice Recorder
Real Time mp3...

The Iriver H10 Mp3 player! Iriver VS Ipod
Advantages: Versatile MP3 player sports a friendly interface that should help make it a stiff competitor to Apple's IPod Mini.
Disadvantages: Touch responsive system not very slick!
...The highlight of the H10 is an attractive 1.5-inch display that, combined with an improved hardware-and-software interface, makes the player a joy to use. The touch-sensitive slider control makes navigating your music library a breeze, and IRiver has wisely abandoned the oversimplified folder structure that it used on previous hard-drive players. Now you can easily browse by artist, album, genre, or song title.
Music sounds good if you upgrade to a better set of headphones than the included earbuds. The player lets you add individual songs (but not albums or artists) to an on-the-go playlist called QuickList. I found that procedure a bit tedious in my tests; I imagine that most people will prefer to create playlists on their PCs and sync them to the device.
The H10 does more than play music: You can also listen to and record FM...
