IRiver T20 MP3 player

Advantages: Small, light, jog proof and fits in my denim jacket
Disadvantages: only 512 MB, looks a bit old fashioned, not as 'cool' as an ipod...

...for an ipod shuffle for my birthday and I had tried to squeeze my old mp3 into it, but with no luck. It hasn't gone to waste as i use it everyday, ok every other day. When I go to the gym as although a bit stretched as regards width it fits to close with the velcro fastening fine for my iriver. Memory: 512MB, which means it can carry about 140 songs but it varies as to the format of your music and also the length. Some, such as classical music are 15mins long and so take up more memory therefore you might only be able to store 70 or so. The functioning on this works so that you can delete songs manually on the go, you don't have to plug it into your computer to edit. This is great if you want to record a voice recording and have filled too much memory, simply go to tools in menu and delete one be one songs and select the ones you want to remove...

Iriver are a benchmark in quality

Advantages: Superb quality in every way
Disadvantages: not a great amount of memory

...I paid about £80 for this about 2 years ago, and was pleased to see it hadn't dropped that much in value, as it is quite a robust light weight MP3 player, with good controls, high quality finish and well thought out design. At only 128 megs, it is handy that it also plays WMA at half the memory of MP3, so you can get a twice the amount of songs in there. It is very durable, I use it while riding a motorcycle, using the supplied neck rope and have dropped it a few times with not so much as a scratch on it. The software setup is easy, and is easy to copy songs to made up directories for easy sortation. There is a full range of play options as you would expect: shuffle, repeat, repeat folder, play all once, play all infinite loop etc. You can set the display to show time remaining track, folder etc. The sound quality is exceptional...

The fact that this is one of the few flash memory players that works with Napster To Go was the main selling point for me. The Reliable and Trustworthy IRiver

Advantages: Relaible, Cheap, Quick, Easy to Use, Easy Connection and Useful Features

...i bought my 6 GB Iriver H10 two years ago for £80 and it is worth every penny. I didn't want to buy an Ipod as i had heard they involved a lot of software and connecting, adn so i opted for the IRiver as it uses Media Player and connects with one cable. The transmission speeds are very good anda full album can be sent over in 2 minutes. i have dropped it several times and the battery has never become loose, imy screen is undamaged and unscratched amd the speed of the IRiver is the same as when i bought it. The reformatting of the IRiver is quick and very easy and the other features of the IRiver are very useful. I use the text for reading short stories and i use the radio to listen to my favourite frequencies. Although the IRIver lacks the games and quiz feature i still believe it is great value for money....

Iriver U10 - Caught the digital flow

Advantages: A brilliant way to listen to music or watch Videos. Still a very modern design.
Disadvantages: The firmware updates have stopped coming, thats about it.
