...GHD's are the only straightening irons that work well on my hair. In my opinion they are definitely worth the rather large price tag: - They heat up in under 20 seconds - The ceramic plates glide smoothly through hair and each section only has to be straightened once- none of the repeat straightening problems found with other irons - The irons cause minimal damage to the hair due to the floating ceramic plates - The long cable is convenient However there are also a couple of bad points: - The ceramic plates become easily coated in heat-protector product, which is difficult to remove and has to be scraped off (although this could be prevented with regular cleaning) - The cable becomes easily twisted and ties itself in knots, which could cause damage to the wires The pros of these amazing straightening irons far outweigh...

Wonderful hotel

Advantages: Very friendly staff, lovely hotel

...Recently, (all of January), Ramada da Vinci's Hotel in Londonderry had a special offer. The offer was £1 per night. Yes, £1 per night. My partner found the offer on the internet and thought it was a mistake, so she applied for the offer, and it worked, so, we booked another couple of rooms for our friends for the two weeks after that. The rooms are amazing, they have 2 large double beds, flatscreen tv, bath, power shower, fridge, iron, ironing board, fast ethernet internet connection,tea and coffee and 2 bottles of wine, (wine separate at £10 for a half bottle...) Downstairs, the bar is one of them olde worlde bars, very dim, relaxing and full of antiques, the staff in the bar are very pleasant. Good but not quite there!

Advantages: Clean spacious & new
Disadvantages: A bit sterile and spa not up to scratch

...I stayed here for two nights in July 08. The hotel was new (it had only been open a few months). I live locally but stayed here for a wedding. There was plenty of parking available and an undercover walk way to the reception area (It was raining so very much apprieciated!) We had a block booking (6 rooms), on arrival all the bookings were as they should have been and check in was easy. We were allocated a room on the ground floor. The view was of a grass mound. Not the best but I wasn't staying for the view! The room had everything you needed Hair dryer, kettle with tea and coffee, iron and ironing board. There was plenty of space a large comfy double bed table with two chair and a table. Also dressing table and mirror and also good lighting (for make-up purposes!!). Philips GC7220 Pressurised Steam Generator Iron

Advantages: Faster ironing, Comfortable ironing, Easy to clean, glide effortlessly.
Disadvantages: none

...I really hate ironing, so this steam generator has been an absoloute godsend. I was aprehensive to begin with, but I now spend less time doing the ironing. Eventhough I have had steam irons before, if the garment was really badly creased, it would take forever to get the creases out, but with the GC7220 steam generator, the creases seemed to melt away. The booklet says that it gives 3.5 bars of powerful pressure to expel 80grams of steam per minute deeper into your garments, relaxing the fabric and helping you remove all creases in a single stroke. It actually does what it says on the tin. I found that if I have a larger than normal pile of ironing to do, I'm not filling the reservoir all the time like a normal steam iron, nor do I have to wait long for it to heat up. Toni And Guy Straighteners- Smooth!!!

Advantages: Quick heat up, No snag
Disadvantages: None

...your hair or just while they heat up so you don't burn your carpet! The heat is toggled by a dial which you turn to whichever heat is best for you and there is an on/off switch about halfway up the irons. The irons themselves heat up within seconds so you are good to go straight away, the heat is continuous and I have not experienced any loss of heat as with other irons. They can be used to create poker straight locks, beautiful tight curls by wrapping hair around the barrel and also for flicks at the tips. The straighteners are a must have for any hair fanatic and are well worth their money, invest in them and they will last you a very long time....

...This is pretty decent hotel but the location is not great. It is a 10-15 minute walk from Brentford train station - fine for young fit people not carrying any luggage. A taxi from the airport costs £20-£25. Check in - polite and efficient service. All the paperwork for my stay was there on reception and they just needed my cerit card details and a couple of signatures and i was given my room key. The Room - we were on the 3rd floor with a view of the main road. Although quite busy you couldn't hear anything. The room itself is typical of that of most holiday inns i have stayed. The bed was comfortable, there was a desk, iron and ironing board and i tv with standard channels and some satelite channels - mainly news. The bar - decent range of drinks - the house white wine was pretty good and only £3.50 which i thought was fair...

...and a toilet downstairs, and three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Two bedrooms have balconies with fantastic views. One of the bedrooms has an en suite. Everything was clean and tidy and furnished very tastefully. Almost all of the rooms had mosquito nets and air conditioning. The bathrooms had a supply of towels, shampoo, soap and shower gel. The villa had everything really - TV, books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, a washing machine, an iron and an ironing board, a dish-washer, a fridge, a cooker, crockery, cutlery? The only little drawback was the state of the pans and frying pans. We love cooking so couldn't really do much with the pots provided. BUT? if you eat out every night or buy ready meals, this is not a problem. We couldn't go out all the time because we had a 16-month old child! Outside there is a lovely spacious pool with parasols...

A cheap hotel worth thinking about

...Stayed at the Clarion Hotel & Suites Selby for a week, it was very conveniently situated 100yds from a sub way station which is only a couple of stops from downtown Toronto. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants & shops should you decide to stay locally. It was built in the late 19th century & Ernest Hemmingway stayed there with his wife in the 1920s. The hotel still has that period look about it which won't appeal to everyone. Our room was situated in the basement & had been recently refurbished, the room was clean & quite well equipped with en-suite bathroom with shower/bath. Other facilities include air conditioning, telephone, comforatble queen size bed, iron & iron board, multi channel TV, sitting chairs, wi-fi, hair dryer & ample drawer & wardrobe space. Lots of Steam and effortless Ironing

...As all of my family know I hate ironing I refuse to iron unless I really really have to. I joined up with bzz a few weeks ago and was asked to join their iron campaign so I signed up and paid the £20 , the parcel came and I unpacked it , inside the box was the iron ,the base and an instruction booklet. To use the iron you need to place the base on a chair or maybe a table as it cannot sit on the ironing board it is way too heavy when it is filled with water.
