Sony DAV-IS 10

Advantages: quality, crisp sound, great looks, can easily hide away
Disadvantages: power output is quite low, needs more mid range

...I bought the sony satelite system about 8 months ago. I did have a sony 5.1 system before but decided to change it as i had just bought a new plasma and wanted a surround system to compliment the looks of the plasma mainly (my tv's piano black as is the dav subwoofer). I knew the quality of the dav-is 10 was there but when i tested it i thought the power output was quite low but at the price it was the best option for the subtle, cosmetically smart looking surround that i was after. This system is not a powerful, in your face surround sound. It's a quality sounding, subtle looking crisp system - less powerful than my previous sony.. It looks brilliant with the tiny satelite speakers which really do hide in your room - especially with the skinny sony stands you can buy (70 pounds for the pair - well worth it). The subwoofer...

Canon PowerShot SX10 IS

Advantages: excellent picture quality, light weight, portable

...I recently recieved a Canon PowerShot SX10 for my birthday, i am very pleased with the quality of this camera. The pictures that it takes are of wonderful quality and you don't have to wait on the delay like alot of those cameras out there. Ever since i recieved the camera i have started selling my pictures, and have actually been making money for pictures that i take when i'm bored simply because the quality of the pictures are so good. This camera is very sleek and stylish and fits in your hands like a camera should. It is very comfortable to use and i is also very lightweight and portable making it easy to move around with and not get tired of holding in your hands. This camera is extremely worth the money and i would definately say that if you are in the market for a new camera then this is the one for you....

...I have owned this Home Cinema System for a couple of months now (it replaces a £200 JVC system). I run it with a Samsung 37" LCD TV (connected via HDMI cable). I purchased it for £365, where some places were selling it for £599!!! (before you buy, shop around). I wont talk about the specification, because it can be viewed on the Sony website. What Attracted Me To This System? I wanted something that was modern looking and sophisticated. It was highly rated by What Hi-Fi? The speakers are very "subtle" and wall mountable - I didn't want large in your face speakers. Sony is a quality brand that I rate. I wanted something that gave good sound quality from music CD's (I use it as a Hi-Fi as well). My Verdict? Whilst I wouldn't class myself as a "tv/vision/hi-fi" buff, the sound and picture that this produces is superb...

...Our large, four bedroom house is over 200 years old and therefore has no cavity walls to insulate. After a cold and damp 2008 summer we were suffering from condensation and mould problems in spite of extractor fans in both kitchen and bathroom. Time to dehumidify! We bought our DEM 10 at Curry's for £99.99. It is compact, easily moved with a fold-out top carry handle and absolutely idiot proof in use. The level of humidity that the unit will pull down to can be controlled via a knob on top of the housing and there is a full tank warning light. The water tank is transparent so that the water level can be seen at a glance and the tank is so easy to remove for emptying - and, more importantly, to replace. Try some of the competition! A length of polythene hose is supplied to enable continuous draining should you want to leave the unit...

NC10 Review

Advantages: Very good battery life (5-6 hours), large keyboard for a netbook and nice size screen at 10.2 inch
Disadvantages: Touch Pad is fairly small

...I bought this netbook around 3 months ago from currys for 299.99, which for a samsung laptop is a good price. The screen is much larger than most of the other netbooks which are in the same price range, the processor is not light at 1.6 ghz but it is fast enough for browsing the internet, playing some old games and watching movies. Also 1 gig of ram really helps the speed, however i would not recommend installing vista. The lid of the laptop is very shiny and produces a nice finish which you would expect from a Samsung laptop. ...I recieved this netbook for christmas and all i can say is 'wow'! My background with computers is vast having built many and installed multiple operating systems on each, however i have never owned a laptop. Therefore i was a little dubious about some of the things such as keyboard size, processing power and battery life. I was looking for a laptop which is very small in physical size while packing a punch so it could still carry out multiple tasks. Buying a full size (15.4") laptop seemed a bit pointlesss as i have two tower pc's which are my main machines, so this was just to be about casual surfing/ reading emails/ browsing while on the move. Samsung NC10 Netbook

Advantages: Lots of connectivity - Big keyboard - excellent screen - Good spec
Disadvantages: bad sleeve to store netbook - battery life not that long - small touchpad

...I managed to pick up this netbook for £299 which is oustanding value - from play.com. The netbook is very light and can fit almost anywhere - it is very easy to carry around - you can set up anywhere and very easily connect to the internet where available. The netbook looks very stylish and everything is laid out well. The keyboard is the biggest i have ever seen on a netbook - its almost full size which is a bonus as I have a lot of typing to do. One disadvantage of this is that the mousepad has been made very small which is a nuisance - you do get used to it but it is not ideal. All of your stats are still saved within your 'Player HUB' and online leaderboards are there as always. The leaderboards at the moment appear to rank the top 10,000 in the world and top 10,000 in each country. ...I bought my NC10 to replace my laptop which was just too heavy to be carrying to and from work everyday. I purchased my NC10 on a promotion weekend from a high street store beating online prices significantly. I was trying to avoid big bulky items to carry as I was on crutches at the time. Not recommended but straight out of box into my rucksack in the shop from which it was purchased. Didn't notice much weight difference in my bag at all. The Samsung NC10 has served me dilligently now being used more and more instead of my normal laptop as battery life is excellent. I use the NC10 round the house for coursework, work and even during my work lunch. The screen is bright and very easy to read, I primarily use the NC10 at home for surfing the net to shop and for music in the background. I have an extensive playlist on Spotify...
