Canon Ixus 100 IS - Small and oh so stylish

...The Canon Ixus 100 IS is the successor to the Ixus 85 IS model, now with 12.1 megapixels instead of the old 10. The 2.5" screen is retained, as is the optical viewfinder and the 3x zoom capability, but the Ixus 100 IS is packed with new features. Video can now be recorded in HD (720p format) and an HDMI port has been added for viewing your pics on the latest HD televisions. The 100 IS also gets a new DIGIC 4 processor, Autofocus Tracking and Auto Scene Detection! The dimensions have changed in proportion, being a whole millimetre wider than its predecessor, another millimetre taller, but 2mm slimmer with an incredible depth of only 18.4mm. So glad to be back to a Canon!

Advantages: Small, tough, simple and fast to use
Disadvantages: A little expensive

...however was the read speed, if you are viewing your photos you can cycle through them very quickly indeed. It even rotates the photos if you are viewing landscape photos in portrait. Setting up the camera is quite easy, well for me it was when I'd found out how to get it out of Japanese! The menus are friendly and there's nothing you can change that will completely ruin your photos. If you stick with the auto then I think you'll be safe. There is a button to program the camera, to alter important settings for taking photos, but as I have no idea what I'm doing I stay well away from it. Other features of note would be the self shot timer, I tried it, it does what you'd expect. Also there is a good old fashioned viewfinder, not 100% sure why you'd want one. When taking a photo I've always liked the way the Canon gives you some feedback...

100% Waterproof it is!

Advantages: Waterproof as it claims
Disadvantages: Doesn't allow lashes to be as 'full'

...What can I say? Another wonderful mascara by Rimmel! Definitely 100% waterproof as it claims, so you're in no worry of a mascara run! But at the same time it is easy to remove with face wipes when you're done. The brush reminds me very much of BeneFit's 'Bad Gal Lash' - big and bulky, therefore easy to apply, but it's a much cheaper product than 'Bad Gal Lash'! The mascara is one of those that lasts a long time and doesn't dry up for much longer than it says on the product - so is useable for a bit longer if you're running low on cash. The only downside is that it doesn't let my eyelashes get as 'full' as other mascaras - which may or may not happen to yourself but is a possibility it may happen. Even so, I still find it a good mascara! Therefore I recommend it to others....

Review of Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara

Canon SX 100 is

Advantages: smooth zoom, lrg LCD, ease of use (mostly all thru the dial), true colour representation
Disadvantages: LCD very prone to smudging, image quality beaten by Fuji A350 P&S!

...Yes it had a pleasing amount of functions inc' full manual, apeature & shutter priority modes. And the zoom is smooth, though slightly steps back once you stop moving it. Focusing was 9/10 accurate (focus beam works well, though animals may not appreciate it), colours are truly well represented. However the images are bit on the softer side for my liking (Im much more fond of the Fujifilm quality...I had an ordinary P&S A350 Fuji that took better pics than this!). Also there is concernable 'noise' in shadow details (obvious in photos without flash), which bugged me as it resembled an image more like a webcame (to me). BUT In daylight, it does makes a lovely not too bulky/heavy compact yet 10X zoom camera. fitted into my standard Kodak compact camera case. Power up/down times are quite reasonable (say ~ 1.5sec). Toshiba NB100

Advantages: Nice look, good battery life.
Disadvantages: Too small.

...actually pretty impressive. Function The notebook works quite well with wireless internet and doesn't cut off often as I have found with wi-fi on some other laptops. It also has an impressive battery life, in a recent car journey, I found it lasted about 3 and 3/4 hours, easily enough time for all of the film I was watching as well as some of another. It is available in two versions, Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP Home., but the Linux has 512Mb of RAM and an 80Gb hard disk, the Windows one has 1Gb of RAM and a 120Gb drive. I personally own the windows version, since I know more about the operating system and prefer the high memory levels. The rest of it's specifications are pretty average for a note book and it runs as such. Overall The Toshiba NB100 is great if you're japanese and/or believe things should be made...

"Hei neighbor, turn the volume down"

Advantages: Realistic SRS sound, Dolby surround mode, awesome memories.
Disadvantages: The sabwoofer is really big, no remote

...I have visited My friend's house a couple of times and the only question I had to ask is "Are we going to be watching any movies" - he is an owner of this subwoofer set and the sound will impress even a deaf man. The bass was so clear and hard the juice in my glass got a form of radio waves. SRS (Surround System) function created a realistic aquatics effect and with a Dolby surround mode on - even your neighbor will come with pop corn. This set leaves some unforgettable impression in your memories. So far the speaker works just fine, not cracks on bass or pitches, straight treble. It is an excellent addition to any wide screen. My thoughts? - Love it. For this price you won't regret you bought it....
