Going Benidorm - Not to be Missed
Advantages: great day out
Disadvantages: -
...I've been to Benidorm twice don't think I will ever return again, however it was a pleasure to visit Terra Mitica whilst I was there, on both occasions.
Terra Mitica is a theme park that is located just on the outskirts of Benidorm, you see it clearly as you are coming from the airport on the journey to Benidorm as it has the words Terra Mitica embedded into the rocks, kind of like Hollywood style and when that captures you attention you can see a huge wooden roller coaster. Nothing much else can be seen from the road and by seeing it that way, it doesn't look to much as it situated up in the hills.
Its a place that if you like theme parks you have to visit it during your stay. Its quite easy to get a taxi to and from your hotels to the theme park or it is one of those trips that your travel representative is pitching to you to...

Not just Benidorm
Advantages: Full of unspoiled beauty
Disadvantages: Out of the way
...When you mention The words Costa Blanca, most people see Benidorm, miles of skyscapers, thousands of hotels, nightclubs and noisy teenagers. But the Costa Blanca is not just Benidorm. Travel just over 30 miles north and you will discover the fishing village of Moraira. These 30 miles are like being on a different planet. In Moraira buildings cannot be over 4 storey high. You can count the streets on one hand only but it has character and you can still find whatever you need. The shops are small but well stocked. There are numerous bars and restaurants serving interesting tapas and lovely local dishes. The marina is lively and increadably clean, so clean in fact that you can watch the fish swimming around the boats. There are two beautiful sandy beaches and a whole range of watersport facilities on offer. Every weekends...

Only for cash rich hardy souls!
Advantages: It's a day away from Benidorm
Disadvantages: Compared to other theme parks- Very dissapointing overall
...We went to Terramitica for a day in August with our two kids aged 7 & 12. during a holiday to Benidorm.
We decided that for a break one day, we'd try "Terramiticca"
We've done Disney, Epcot, MGM studios, Port Aventura and we've also gone to other theme parks in the Far East as well as the usual ones at home- We always have a ball- Until we went to Terramittica.
It certainly looks impressive on the drive up, but once there, it's a huge let down.
First of all, there was a gruelling 25 minute walk from the car park in the heat to even get to the theme-park gates, it was very expensive and quite honestly once inside, there wasn't much at all that we could describe as exciting!
It's meant to be themed on different countries Egypt, Iberia, Rome (Italy) Greece, and it's islands.
Compared to say Port Aventura on the Costa Dorada...

Orange Blossom Coast
Advantages: Great Weather, Scenery, Food, People, Culture, Beaches
Disadvantages: Benidorm is spoilt,Some parts over-run, Crime Rate,
...///// Intro /////
The first time I went to the Costa Blanca was in 1997 on my honeymoon.I stayed at Javea in a villa with its own pool. The first thing I noticed was that when we drove from Alicante upto Javea, how the scenery changed so much.I found the scenery dry and not very interesting around Alicante right upto Benidorm. Its only after passing Benidorm that the scenery really becomes breath taking.
///// Javea /////
Javea was stunning. It is full of orange trees that fill the air with the gorgeous scents of blossom in spring.I found the beach at Javea clean and very pleasant and the weather in July was perfect, around 30c most days.Costa Blanca has a perfect climate and temperatures rarely go below 16c.Even in December temps can be around 18-20c.I went in December and it was so warm I used the beach. It was around 22c most days...

Is this rearly Spain or is it heaven?
Advantages: Sun sea and a great atmosphere
Disadvantages: Too many morrocan's and Soth Americans.
...From the moment you land in Spain you will feel more laid back and de-stressed about life, and when this happens you know you are following in the footsteps of the locals. You see the Spanish have it down to a fine art, it is a proven fact that they tend to live longer than us and this is why!
I have family living in Javea, and for this reason of course I visit very often, maybe the other contributing factors do have a large part of my frequent trips so I will tell you what has captivated me so much, about this small resort on the Costa Blanca :).
The nearest airport is Alicante, which is about an Hour and 15 minutes away by car. The roads leading out off the airport towards Benedorm are mainly very fast moving motorways, which in summer can be very crowded all day and into the night so please be ready for a little delay?s on this...

The White Coast
Advantages: nice coast with lovely countryside
Disadvantages: Urbanizaciones taking over, month of August to avoid
...The Costa Blanca stretches from Valencia down Spain´s southeastern coast to Cartagena, offering different landscapes from flat marshes to rugged coastlines. There is only one larger city, Alicante, where charter flights from Britain, Scandinavia and Central Europe spill their mostly sun-seeking clientele.
My wife has always been one of these constantly freezing snowbirds who fears the continental Austrian winters, she doesn´t indulge in winter sports at all and would love to spend her life in a zone where temperatures never fall below 22°C...
This is just to explain why one freezing December morning she came up with a realty ad from our paper that offered an appartement near Torrevieja on the Playa Flamenca (which has nothing to do with the Spanish national dance, it refers to a bunch of Flamish Belgians who were the first to...

Benidorm
Advantages: plenty to do, sun, sea
Disadvantages: no disadvantages
...For my honeymoon last July we wemt to Benidorm and it was the best holiday that we have had had. I'd go back there again.
There are people of all ages there, and things to do for everyone. You would never be bored of things to do.
Benidorm is split in to two parts, the old town and the new town. The old town is where the locals live and is quieter and the new town is where the tourists go and is very lively. We stayed in the new town but did go to the old town a few times.
There is a theme park called terra mittica, where there are quite a few rides to go on. This theme park opened last summer. The theme park is in sections and named after different countries. There are different rides for adults and children. There is a rollercoaster which I did not go on as I do not like them, waterlog, a ride like the pepsi max at Blackpool...

Costa is best!
Advantages: Yummy muffins and cake
Disadvantages: None!
...In my opinion Costa Coffee is better than Starbucks! Although I love them both I have to say that It's Costa coffee all the way for me (:
~Information: ~
Bruno and Sergio Costa are the founders of the legendary Costa Coffee and they set up their first espresso bar in 1978 in London. The same methods for their unique way of slow roasting their coffee beans are used today, and this famous coffee is being served in 500 coffee shops all over the world!
~The core varieties of coffee available at Costa: ~
Espresso - Short, strong, sweet and black
Espresso Doppio - A double shot of espresso, twice the strength
Ristretto - A very short espresso, ultimate strength
Macchiato - Espresso with a dash of frothed milk
Americano - Espresso with hot water
Cappuccino - Espresso topped with steamed frothed milk topped with a sprinkling...

Terra Mitica, more than just a theme park!
Advantages: Theres a lot more than just rides, not many people there so you dont queue for long!
Disadvantages: the Biggest ride can be inactive for a few hours while the park gets busy and spanish kids have no manners so they just push in!
...like?
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
There are approximately 7 main rides.
1.The Magnus Colossus
The Magnus Colossus is the longest ride of 'Terra Mitica' and is a sort of 'Run away train'. the track is made entirely of wood and nails, only the cars on it have metal on. it feels very unsafe but I think that is probably the point of it. when you reach the highest point of the ride, you can see all of 'Terra Mitica' and 'Benidorm'.
2.The Flight Of The Phoenix
The Flight Of The Phoenix is 54m free-fall ride at a stunning 100KM/H speed. it takes you up to the top where you can see at of the park and Benidorm, then after a few seconds just drops you. It's a truly amazing experience.
3.The Tizona
The Tizona is Terra Mitica's version of the 'nemesis' at 'Alton Towers' but 7x better. The ride whips you round corners and out of steep...

Something for Everyone
Advantages: Something for everyone, parts untouched by tourism.
Disadvantages: N/A
...).
The best place to visit in Benidorm is San Pedro. It is relatively untouched by European tourists, although it is one of the most popular holiday destinations for the spaniards themselves. It sits on the Mar Menor, the largest inland lake in Europe. Its a lovely place to visit, throughout the summer they have bars located right on the beach. It's a great place to visit if you want to experience what it's really like in Spain. You'll get to try tradition foods and drinks, all at spanish prices and not tourist prices (as spanish holiday makers don't get ripped off like us!).
All in all the Costa Blanca still has a lot going for it. The best way to enjoy your stay is to hire a car and drive all over the region, just stopping at B and B's for sleep or even take a tent to sleep in. I hope this opinion has been of some use to you....
