The Job Centre is very heavily manned by security guards and most of the staff are in-equipped with the knowledge required to help those genuinely looking for work. Although no longer receiving JSA, National Insurance Contributions are paid on your behalf as long as you sign on every two weeks at a time specified by the centre. During these appointments, you must prove that you have been actively looking for work by showing them your recorded information. It appears to be common place for them to draw up a contract which you have to sign and adhere to. In our case, this included applying for 3 jobs a week, cold calling companies speculatively enquiring about employment and being prepared...

I have worked since I was 17 only taking 6 months maternity leave for each of my 2 children. When I was made redundant on 6th July 2008, the last thing on my mind was signing on for job seekers allowance. The Italian Job

Advantages: action and entertainment
Disadvantages: far cry from the origanal

...the 21st century, as is the storyline and the hi tech gadgets that are used to pull off the bullion robbery. The new style Mini Cooper, (which aren't so mini anymore) are re-introduced, racing again through the sewers and the subway systems after bringing L.A. to a complete gridlock. There are a few similarities between the '69 movie and this remake but the main movie is totally different. I suppose if this movie was given a different title I may have enjoyed it more as I was constantly comparing it to the original, so this spoiled it slightly for me as I was totally lost as to why this was called 'the Italian Job'?? considering most of the car chases and the action was in Los Angeles?? Maybe they should have called it 'The L.A. Job? with the stuff we nicked from Italy'..?? Don't get me wrong, this is an action packed movie...

...It's not often that a remake of a classic movie is a hit but in my opinion the 2003 version of the Italian Job was a great movie. The original version of the film is classified as a British caper film with lots of darsterdly deeds. It came out in 1969 and starred Michael Caine. Now I can't say that I've seen this version but from all accounts it was a classic. Apparently, according to an article I read, in 2004 the magazine Total Film named The Italian Job the 27th greatest British film of all time. The line "You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!", said by Michael Caine in the film, was voted the favourite movie one-liner in a 2003 poll of 1000 movie fans. Disadvantages: Difficult to get hold of an actual company when applying for one of their jobs

Advantages: You recieve help for looking for a job.
Disadvantages: EVERYTHING ABOUT THE JOBCENTRE IS A DISADVANTAGE!!!!!!

...scheme recently coming out, the JobCentre now offer you training courses to help you improve and get you back into work. I believe this very beneficial to people who have not undertaken further education after leaving school. I also find it beneficial to those who want to try something new and have not had the opportunity to do so until now. Before being employed I was given the opportunity to do an ICT course at my local college. Personally I did not feel the need to partake in this course as I am very computer literate with a wide range of knowledge in all MS packages, however a few of my friends have taken part in this course and would recommend it to anyone who is also offered the chance.
