...This is another hotel from Accor, the founders of Ibis. However i am reviewing the Etap hotel situated on the outskirts of Paris, within an area known as Kremlin Bicetre. In this area, you have the choice between an Ibis hotel, a Novotel and the Etap, as well as various other smaller establishments, of which the Etap is by far the least expensive. The Etap Hotel Paris Porte D'Italie is split into two buildings; Ouest (west) and Est (east). Whereas the western hotel has 144 rooms, the eastern has 171. However both offer the same value for money. But please remember these are low budget, no frills hotels so don't expect to be living in the lap of luxury! The French Etaps are cheaper than those in the UK and will only set you back 48 Euros (around £33) per room per night. But bear in mind there is a 3 Euro suppliment for the second...

...I have to admit that watching Gareth barry play for Aston Villa at the beginning of the season i was not too impressed with what i saw. But since then i feel he has improved an awful lot in such a short space of time and he has deserved his place in the England team. In his first few internationals i do not think that he had the confidence in his own ability because of his movement and general work rate. In Turin early this month he proved to me that he can play at the highest level with a very convincing performance, even though italys performance was not so convincing he still showed enough for me. He showed more confidence in himself with good control on the ball and attitude towards the game. Definately one for the up and coming young England team....

A Vehicle For Michael Caine

...Italys most attractive city. The story is about Charlie Croker who on the instructions of an incarcerated Mr Big attempts a huge bullion heist in Turin. The film is built almost entirely around Michael Caines portrayal of Croker but Noel Coward comes close to stealing it as Mr Bridger the jailed but comfortable master criminal. Croker builds a team to do the robbery in particular a team of drivers who are to try and get away using 3 British Mini cars inevitably done up in Red, White and Blue. He is ably helped by Benny Hill as a computer genius with a penchant for fat women. But it is Croker who is the ice cool professional and Caine plays the role brilliantly. Some of the characters around him are not developed to the same extent as Caines leading them to appear a bit 2-dimensional. But it is a minor criticism. There are scenes of great...

Open-topped bus and Metro

Advantages: Saves a lot of money and effort
Disadvantages: Metro can be crowded and have to watch for thieves

...mixing up the stations Place D'Italie and Porte D'Italie!!! - remember which station you left from!!!) I got a pass called a Paris Visite - you can get it at any Metro station and if you get it for zones 1-3 that will take you all over Paris - you can use it as many times as you like and it also saves having to speak to ticket sellers all the time if you are like me and dont know a lot of French. You can also use it on the buses and RER trains. It was about £7 for 2 days and was well worth it. A word of warning - the Metro is famous for pickpockets so hold onto your bags/wallets!...

Garda Town - Great place

Advantages: Garda Town - great location for expliring other areas
Disadvantages: Bus between towns - never on time.

...a little more expensive than you would pay in the UK. There is a local bus provided free of charge which circulites around the town every half hour - just get on and off whereever you like NO COST. This is an excellent idea as some of the hotels and appartnments are a good distance from the main town. We stayed in the Court Dell Rose Apartments approx 2KM from the main town and the bus was needed to get up and down as it was too warm to walk. The walk was enjoyable at night after a good feed. Close by - about 30 minutes on the bus was Gardaland which is Italys largest theme park. For 2 adults and 3 children it cost 108 euro which was good value. There is a free bus to Gardaland which leaves the bus stop in Garda at 8.30 SHARP (on of the few buses which does leave on time. Garda is a very enjojable town for a holiday and as long as...
