Jack's Struggles

Advantages: Gives a very honest account of his life.
Disadvantages: He's 21. Probably could have waited a bit longer to write it.

...Before I started reading this, I was really cynical about the whole thing. Who could ever write an autobiography at 21? But I've got to admit that I really liked this offering from Jack Osbourne. The book starts by him describing his childhood. He remenisces about family holidays and describes his ordeals of having go to School when all of the other kids know you have famous (and perhaps at times, unstable) parents. He gives a very honest insight in to his parent's relationship and doesn't appear to leave any details out. Jack also writes about the time that his Mother, Sharon, was tragically diagnosed with cancer. After the childhood years, the book really gets down to the nitty gritty. Again, Jack gives us a very honest insight to his life as a teenager. He was lazing around all day, earning bucketloads of money, and hanging out...

Sharon Osbourne - Very extreme!

Advantages: Great read, real page turner.
Disadvantages: None

...This book details the life and loves of Sharon Osbourne, wife, moher, businesswoman, tv star, producer and former X-Factor retail judge. Sharon is wife to Ozzy Osbourne from Black Sabbath and mother to Jack, Kelly & Aimee. Sharon had quite a terrible upbringing at the hands of her father who was also Ozzy's manager for many years and proceeded to steal a large chunk of Ozzys fortune in early days which led to Sharon eventually taking over as Ozzy's manager which definitely seemed to help shape his career. There have been many ups (and more downs) in Sharons life and she talks about them in quite graphic detail in this book. Sharon gives off the impression that she is very fiery and independent but I think that deep down she really needs her family around her to help keep her strong and to give her something to fight for...

...After reading the latest Sharon Osbourne book and being a little disappointed with the lack of talk about her children I was delighted when I spotted this book whilst out on my travels. Now, 21 may seem to some people a very young age to write a biography, but with a rock star father and very successful mother you can imaging the hectic lifestyle this boy has had. Sharon Osbourne - Extreme

Advantages: A thoroughly enjoyable read.
Disadvantages: None.

...I wasn't a huge fan of Sharon Osbourne, I liked her, but didn't think enough so to read her autobiography. I was very wrong. The book is well written, fluid, humourous and thoroughly readable. Sharon Osbourne shocks with tales of falings out and dalliances with not only her family, but with well know celebrities too. There are several photos in the book too for readers to reflect on the Golden days of Ozzie! Sharon writes in a frank, honest and very, very witty way. You won't be able to put the book down so don't be suprised if you finish it all in one or two sittings. The book is not all jokes and shocking tales..it also touches the heart with very honest revelations from Sharon about the heartbreak she has been through, right from before she even met Ozzy. This book talks about her terrible relationship with her father...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Advantages: Unbelievably chilled out
Disadvantages: Little samey but only if your being picky

...Jack Johnson is an Acoustic guitarist and songwriter born in Hawaii. This is his third album and is a characteristically mellow offering and should appeal to anyone who knows how to chill out. The album is packaged in a nice cardboard case which is a yellow background and a silhouette of a tree with a lone guitarist resting against it. This guy is seriously laid back. his album has 15 tracks but also comes with a bonus track when bought in the UK. A lot of people who have read my reviews will tend to like something completely different but I don't think many people will dislike JJ. My only complaint is that he's TOO chilled. The Album [Track 1 - Better Together] A floating acoustic riff drifts through the beginning of this track and the vocals make it practically feel like a lullaby. The lyrics are positive...

SHARON OSBOURNE - STRONG OR STUPID?

Advantages: Compelling - Easy to read most of the time
Disadvantages: Perhaps not for the faint hearted!

...I wanted to read this book for ages and finally got my hands on it recently and I was not disappointed. I loved the Osbournes with a passion - this eccentric, vulgar and most loving family had me glued to the screen. And Sharon on the X Factor was what made it for me with her 'realness'. But I could never understand why she was a judge on that show. Her husband is a rock god but so what? So reading this book I hoped would provide me with some answers about this incredibly clever, empathic and loving woman. Its an average sized read with 372 pages of which there are 24 pages of photos. Sharon spent her early life on my doorstep in Brixton (never knew that!!) and had 2 brothers, a rather distant Mother and a Father in the music business. The early days were full of struggles and a lot of uncertainty as the families welfare...

All about Jack

Advantages: wonderfuul dogs, caring attentive and easy to care for
Disadvantages: Some can be nasty if not trained right

...We inherited Jack about 10 years ago he was kept in a shed because the owner?s daughter preferred his brothers to him! Paul my boyfriend swapped him for some tarmac (the owner was a farmer and its quite common for them to need tarmac). Paul took him home and he lived with him and his mum for a few years until we got our own house and he?s been with us ever since. About the Jack Russell breed ----------------------------------- The founder of the breed was Parson John (Jack) Russell. Who bred these great dogs in the nineteenth century. This terrier is supposed to have originally been crossed with a Devon hunt terrier. The breed varies in size and coat texture, I know some really skinny dogs but our Jack is a hefty 11kg! The recommended weight is between 5-8kg (oops!) Jack is a smooth coat but some terriers have a rough coat...
