Reviews of jaipur
Jaipur - The Pink City
Review of Jaipur (India) by
sumitmalhotra
Advantages: Amazing Architecture, Great Silver Stuff and Artifacts, Excellent Cultural Heritage, Hospitable People, Great Food
Disadvantages: Pathetic Traffic, Pollution and Crowd in the Old City, Watch out for a rare Stray Buffalo
...My association with Jaipur goes back a long way. It's incredible that after my first visit in the 1991, i still returned to the city in 1993 as the venue of my first employment. And my customers at the age of 21 were hardcore Indian Bureaucrats. It was an amazing experience and I'll let it remain as a small piece of my history unless you all request for details.
Coming back to "Jaipur". My recent visit to the city was in 2001, with my wife on a second honeymoon of sorts. With three days at hand, invitation from a friend and Jaipur only 250 kilometers (that is from New Delhi), I zipped in my Daewoo Cielo to arrive in the town in all off 3.5 hours. Needless to say the new Toll Highway was a delight to drive on. Jaipur is well connected with Rail and regular flights from all major International Airports in India. It's really hot in Summers...

A pair of deliciously different perfumes
Review of Boucheron Jaipur by
Miskah
Advantages: complimentary perfumes which both smell lovely
Disadvantages: none
...Jaipur perfume is by the Boucheron design house and is a fruity floral. Jaipur Saphir is also by Boucheron and is a white floral. Oddly enough Ciao have the name of one yet the image is of the other. As I have both of these perfumes I will review the two of them. Each one is attractive although they are quite different.
Boucheron
~~~~~~~~~~
Founded in 1858, Boucheron are well established and distinguished French jewellers: particularly well known for Art Nouveau nature inspired pieces, they are also thought to be the first to create the wristwatch and the first to create white jewellery (diamonds set-in platinum). Boucheron have always managed to keep up with the times never becoming staid or old fashioned. Boucheron has created perfumes since 1988
Handy for Gandhi!
Review of Jaipur IPA by
tange
Advantages: One of the best IPAs around at the moment.
Disadvantages: Far too easy to drink!
...and tasty beers. These include Blackthorn Ale (a moreish Pale Ale at 4.4% ABV), Lord Marples (an easy drinking session beer at 4% ABV) and Brock (a smooth, dark stout at 4.1% ABV). You will find their beers at selected pubs in the surrounding area and appearing at Beer Festivals nationwide.
~~~THE BEER.
***A bit of Background***
Jaipur IPA is one of my favourite beers from Thornbridge. The name Jaipur comes from the place in India ~ the capital city of the Rajasthan state, commonly known as the Pink City because of the colour of some of the houses in the old town. The name suits the style of the beer, what better name could you give an India Pale Ale than somewhere IN India? Jaipur also has great significance for some of the owners of Thornbridge ~ it was the city where they got married!
***Vital Stats***
Jaipur weighs in at 5.9% ABV...

Boucheron - perfume of sapphire
Review of Boucheron Jaipur Saphir by
dleta
Advantages: fineness,freshness,not expensive
Disadvantages: not very persisitent
...Ever since I received this perfume as a gift, I considered it a great fragrance for a great occasion. It is as if I smelled a sapphire!
It was a great day in Paris, the city of perfumes. I had had smelled so many perfumes, with different aromas, hundreds of brands. Testing more perfumes at once seemed to be a tough job. You come to a point when youre brain creates a mixture of smells and you can't distuinguish them anymore.
The best way to identify the proper perfume is to first identify the features of the product. If you prefer a mellow smell, you should find out first which perfumes match with your preference.
I have many great perfumes, but I consider Boucheron Jaipur Saphir the most interesting, fine and special. It is not very strong and its mellow odour seems to be just perfect for a summer day.

Union of Cultures
Review of General: India by
amazon1984
Advantages: rich cultural heritage.friendly people
Disadvantages: u need to carry your emergency needs with you.
...hey guys the first step to know india is just try to get visa
Then the thing which you will experience ,will be unforgottable.
there are lots of things which you will experience over here,not in another part of world. There is a rich cultural heritage like monuments in the area of delhi,jaipur ,agra famous worldwide for "TAJ"
hyderabaad,kolkata.etc over these places you can discover the main india. The most unique thing about India is that its one part is completely different from other like different climatic conditions,language,culture,festivals.
There are thousands of festivals being celebrated over here.The famous are Diwali,Holi,Onam,Pongal,Ied.And inspite of modernisation Indians have shown great determination for preserving their moral values and cultural heritage.
People are very friendly,the basic travel can be done...

DID YOU EVER SEE A CASTLE IN THE AIR.
Review of Agra and the Taj Mahal (India) by
poshtroika
Advantages: ROMANCE
Disadvantages: Time your first view for the less crowded times.
...After reading several reviews I thought it is time to recall our visit to the Taj which is from memory so may be sketchey on detail, but there is all the necessary historical facts on other very good reviews , so this is just an old lovers memories.
Jane (My very own Queen Mumtaz Mahal) and I were coming up to our Silver Wedding Aniversery in March 1995, so we wanted a very special destination for a Holiday to celebrate, we both had a hankering for India so a two week Holiday was booked to Goa with a mini tour included of Jaipur, Agra and Delhi. (The Golden Triangle).
We had 7 Nights in Goa then it was time for the mini-tour.
It was on the Flight to Jaipur that I lost my fear of flying. Goa to Bombay not too bad the Air hostesses served Curry Meat or Veg. Plane landed at Bombay every one got off except for our tour party of 22 souls...

Triangular Guide
Review of Eyewitness Travel Guide: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur - Kate Poole by
BristolBud
Advantages: Detail, Pictures & Diagrams
Disadvantages: Friends kept stealing it
...""Please note - this is a review of the 2003 version of the book and it has been updated and reprinted in 2007.""
When it was finally confirmed that I would be spending a few weeks working in India towards the end of 2006, as well as organising injections, anti malarials etc I wanted to get a guide book to plan to get the most out of my weekends. Off I went to my local bookshop and started looking at India guides and I soon realised that there were some that covered the triangle of Cities in Northern India that I would hopefully be able to visit from our base in Noida (in the National Capital Region of Delhi) - Delhi, Agra & Jaipur.
I think people have a favourite type of guide book be it Rough Guide, Lonely Planet or others but my favourite is the Eyewitness range which I had used for many years and had been invaluable not just...

I'll Badger You for a Pint!
Review of Brock Stout by
tange
Advantages: A tasty and rich stout with lots of flavour.
Disadvantages: Mmmmmm.....not any I can think of.
...Those of you who read my opinion on Thornbridge Hall Brewery's Jaipur will know how much I rate this new Derbyshire Brewery. To start with they only did four regular beers and none of them were dark ones. This is why I was so pleased to hear that they had bought out a new regular stout called Brock. I was drinking it last night so I thought I'd tell you all while it was nice and fresh in mind (even though my mind IS slightly fuzzy around the edges this morning after that night before).
~~~THE BREWERY.
In brewing terms Thornbridge Hall is a relative newcomer. They started brewing in October 2004 and can be found in Ashford in the Water in north Derbyshire. The brewery (known as The Baby Brewery) is housed in an old joiner's and stonemason's workshop in the grounds of a stately home at Thornbridge Hall. In a short space of time...
Thorn in My INside!
Review of Blackthorn Ale by
tange
Advantages: Well balanced, tasty and refreshingly bitter.
Disadvantages: Name could get confused with another less tasty product!
...already won awards for their beers (Jaipur IPA was beer of the festival at the last Sheffield Beer Festival in 2005).
Their beers are produced using local ingredients (wherever possible) and often contain produce from the Thornbridge Estate (Elderflowers for example). The beer range includes regular, seasonal (Balthazar is brewed for Christmas), one off brews and some bottled beers. They can be found in and around pubs in Derbyshire and South Yorkshire (we have found them in some bars in Sheffield). They are also regular attendees of national beer festivals. Look out for Jaipur IPA (light and strong at 5.9% ABV), Brock (a dark tasty stout at 4.1% ABV) and St. Petersburg Russian Imperial Stout (a strong thick stout at 7.7% ABV).
You can also order bottled beers via their website or by telephone ~ see the details at the end of the review...
Rajastan - The Land of the Kings!
Review of Rajastan (India) by
Rp200
Advantages: Beautiful Scenary, so much culture and great food
Disadvantages: None,
...can do shopping! You can buy so many bargains! I bought a necklace which was about 50p and a bangle that was like 10p. You can also buy lovely sari's, shoes and great stuff for the house made my the locals all for dirt cheap cheap prices!
You can also hire bikes if you don't have anyone to take you around, they cost like 10-20 rupees, thats like 20p!
The food is out of the world, no matter where you are you will find stalls that sell food from PANI PURIS (my fav) kinda like a puff pastry that you can put chick pees in, masala, yoghurt and this really tasty Pani (flavoured water). You can also taste the Pokara's, curries, the chat (Indian Junk food) and also Mitai (Indian Sweets)
Other places to visit in Rajastan
*Jaipur*
We also went to visit the famous, 'Jaipur' known as the 'Pink City...
