Jamaica - Runaway Bay

Disadvantages: Hassle from drug pushers if you stay in the main resorts

...When we arrived at the airport in Jamaica the first thing that annoyed me was the way the porters were demanding at least 2 US dollars to take your luggage a matter of a couple of hundred yards to your bus. I'd heard before I went that the hassle was tremendous, however, once we arrived at Runaway Bay it was much calmer than I'd expected. We stayed in a hotel called the Ambience which, at the time we went, was self-catering. I think it's an all inclusive now. The hotel was really nice and clean and on most nights there was entertainment. We chose not to eat in the hotel as there was a little cafe/restaurant called the Recovery Cafe just across from the hotel which served homemade food at very reasonable prices. I particularly liked it because it was like sitting in the kitchen of somebody's house and there wasn't a plate or a piece...

Advantages: Addictive, Good conclusion
Disadvantages: Sometimes Predictable and unbelievable

...V.C.Andrews is known for making a series of books. Usually four separate stories that eventually wind down a road and come together to make a fifth. The orphans' series was no exception. Four books titled Butterfly, Crystal, Brooke and Raven. Runaway brings it to a rocky, tooth rotting and predictable yet required conclusion. I would strongly recommend reading the four separate books before getting into this one as there are several references to the girls past and having a better understanding in the first place also enables you to enjoy the story more. My Bay

Advantages: tasty addition to stews and cassorole
Disadvantages: maybe to strong for your taste

...Bay is an everygreen herb which grows like a shrub, it can be grown in open spaces or in tubs. The flowers of the bay are yellow and it will flower in may. The best way to get a bay plant is to buy one from a garden centre for around 99p depending on the size. I also like to get my herbs from bootsales where you can pick them up from 25p so saves money. When your bay plant is well established in the pot re-plant it outside. It likes to be in a sunny but shaded place in the garden. They may die off in the winter but should throw new shoots during the following spring. Bay is a native to the east mediterranean but have been grown in europe for years. ...The Runaway Jury: If you have ever been called up for Jury Service in the UK you know that the first few days at least are pretty boring, sitting in a room potentially for a great portion of the day without your name being called. And even if you do get called there is no guarantee that you will sit on a jury. I've done Jury service twice and I was lucky enough to be called twice, I have to say that it was interesting. As regular Joe public I've no idea about the ins and outs of selection except that if you know the person on trial then you let someone know and they let you go. However in the US it would seem that trying to influence who sits on a Jury seems to be big business, they try to influence verdicts by getting someone who is biased to their cause. Jamaica (Yallahs Bay/ Morant Bay/Kingston)

Advantages: Weather, freshness of air, food.
Disadvantages: Insects, Can be too hot at night

...Im 22 now and i have been to Jamaica 12 times and i havent got bored of the place. I dont stay in a hotel or resort which i would like to do 1 day, i stay with family; which is a cheaper alternative if your lucky enough to have family that would let you stay. Weather: Always at least warm, hot to many, if it rains it rains hard. The freshness of the air is unbelievable, i would suck it into a big tank and condition my house air with it. Insects: now you will need repellent and lots of it, these insects (mosquitos mainly) are very persistant, so make sure you buy long lasting repellent and cover every part of you body not just the parts that are showing Food: The difference in food is that jamaica are famous for their jerk seasoning, which is used on pork, chicken and sometimes goat. The Book Runaways is about four orphans girls in a care home. Brooke, Crystal, Raven and Butterfly. They each have their own stories, which are elaborated on in another book called Orphans. The girls live with Louise and Gordon Tooey and life is grim. They hate their lives and hatch a plan to steal his car and run away. Sandals Montego bay

Advantages: Sandals in genuinely "All Inclusive", and oozes quality
Disadvantages: Jamaica seems festooned with hustlers

...I went to Sandals Montego Bay for 2 weeks in August 1997 for my honeymoon. It seemed pricey at first glance (it was about 3400 ukp for us both) but this turned out to be pretty good value for money. The food was excellent, there were at least 5 restaurants to choose from including a Chinese, an Italian and an A La Carte, all at least four courses. You could also pop along to Sandals Royal Jamaican or Sandals Inn for a change. Sandals Royal Jamaican has an excellent Indonesian restaurant you have to get to in a "traditional" Balinese boat, but it's well worth the effort. All of the staff did their best to give you a good holiday and the activities were enjoyable, though you weren't forced to join in. Advantages: Insightful, excellent writing, superb characters, profound understanding of humanity

They replied that I must point out at the beginning of this review that it is about the new bar and not the old one as this is the general topic for the product.
