Storyline The story follows quite close to the actual film, but as if you were skipping the bits in the middle, as it fast forwards quite a lot. You play as bond (Of cause) and you must stop a man of evil from completing his evil deeds (you know the general Bond type game). Gameplay Gameplay is good, with most of the game being played as 1st person switching to 3rd for things like hiding against walls whilst being shot at, so don't expect any camera angles from inside walls. The puzzles for things like hacking doors and uploading viruses are far too easy, the door hacking is a button sequence type mini-game (yawn). ...James Bond is a character that has been around for a long time and is well known to a large amount of people and many people had been looking forward to this game. This is quite different to other games that they have done as it follows the story slightly of the two films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. It is set in first person which many people see as a plus as the last game that was done as a 3rd person shooter was not as good. But it switches between 1st and 3rd when you go into cover. ...Background The game follows the story of the two Daniel Craig James Bond movies, it starts off with Quantum of Solace and after a bit of this film you then return via a flashback to the story of Casino Royale, before returning to Quantum of Solace. The game sticks roughly to the story of the films yet there are added and removed bits in order to make it more action packed. The basic story is told though gameplay but cutscenes/briefings are also used in order to expand on the story. The Special edition also contains clips on the blu ray of the making of the game, which is an enjoyable piece of extra content. ...James Bond Everthing Or Nothing is the third PS2 outing for Bond. The difference between this and the preddecessors is this title has a more third-person prespective whether this is good or bad I will tell you later in the review. Another nice touch to the game is the array of actors featured in the game. These include Judi Dench, Pierce Brosnan, John Cleese, Shannon Elizabeth, Heidi Klum and Willem Defoe. This really adds to the game and the graphics and sound really gel together reallly well. This is not a game that I'd normally go out and buy and I didn't buy it I won it from OPS2 (Official Playstation Magazine #045) for my review that I wrote to the magazine. ...just the odd feeling of familiarity. Whatever it was, this wasn't the PS2's Goldeneye...more the PS2's Duke Nukem. An enjoyable and quite addictive game, but it didn't seem to posses the memory's of a good single player game to really warrant any sort of a special place in the disk tray. Acceptable in every way in terms of graphics (for the time) which lets remember was fairly early in the PS2's life, the sounds may have been a little weak sounding but not too bad. The game play was more geared towards fun than realism, thankfully, and the longevity was there to unlock all the secrets (they depending on things like difficulty and Bond Moments) and the multiplayer whilst not as timeless as it's older cousin was still an addictive little blighter. ...Well just look at that, does it not remind you of some kind of high-tech gadget you would expect too see in a Bond movie? Well it is certaintly the dream come true in the gaming world. This little thing (well compared to PS2), has got almost every function that you can dream of. I first saw in the hands of my friend who secretly ordered it (to make sure he was the first). To my surprise I found him sitting byhimself and looking extremely occupied and then I saw the beast. In the hands it felt perfect and the screen (despite being big) is just amazing. The Japanese versions released now have a better screen (Sharp) then the ones that will be released in the UK in september (if they dont delay it again).
